Ideas for being an
Everyday
Super Hero
A lot of smog comes from cars, so share the ride
whenever you can. That means taking the bus
or riding with friends (carpooling).
Turn the engine off when the car isn’t moving.
This is called idling, and it wastes gas and
pollutes the air.
Recycle everything you can, like cans, glass,
school paper, cereal boxes, newspaper, plastic
bottles and so much more.
Conserve energy by turning out the light when
you leave a room, and remember to turn off
your TV or game system too.
Plant trees for clean air. Trees give us oxygen
and help remove pollution from the air.
Start a garden of your own, or find a community garden at your school or church. These
gardens give you fresh local food, which is good
for you, but they also help cut down on the
miles food has to be transported by trucks.
Buy things made out of recycled materials like
recycled paper or plastic.
Send your unused items to places that will
resell them instead of throwing things like
clothes in the trash.
