Forestdale MA – I believe that this year’s attendance to CCBCC Annual Meeting was a record! It was nice
to see so many members take an interest in our club! Once again I was elected by a land slide (sic.) to
take over the Helm as our president. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Charlie Frink for
stepping up from VP to take the helm after the resignation of our last president Ed Packard whom also
deserves recognition for serving as our past elected president.
As a new year begins it is nice to see that some members have stepped forward to fill BOG spots and
that our membership has again began to grow closer to the 300 mark. Not only has our membership
continues to grow but more and more members are getting involved. We can always use more active
members, so don’t be shy, come join us in keeping the club ‘Fun”.
On the horizon, of course, is our Annual British Legends Weekend. This is our 16 th year for this show and
the seventeen members of the BLW committee continue to work hard to make this the best BLW event.
Work parties for the event will be forming soon so if you wish to become involved then speak up we will
be glad to have you on board.
FYI to the members who attended the Annual meeting and expressed
concerned by the increase admission fee to this year’s BLW, the board
took an additional vote and had decided to reduce the entry fee to
$35.00 for preregistration and $40.00 for late registration. Please register
early as this year’s BLW should be a fantastic event.
Inclosing, thank you all again for your support and I will do my best to keep this fun and entertaining.
Keep an eye on the club website for updates on events, Drive safe and smart.

CCBCC - Annual Meeting - by Jodi Fletcher
NOTICE
Hear Ye… Hear Ye…
Gather all from far (Stoneham, Swansea, Abington) and near (Falmouth, Sandwich, Brewster)
for the annual meeting of the Cape Cod British Car Club. The meeting to be held at the
beautiful Sea Crest Beach Hotel and Resort on Sunday, May22, 2016. Come one Come all!!
And indeed they did come from both far and near on a sunny Sunday in May. There were 28 active members present.
(plus additional hangers-on) Let the festivities begin!
All officers and board members running for office were given 3 minutes to present their candidacy platform (or to
dissuade members from voting them in.) More the latter than the former I’m afraid but…drum roll…the results are in…
TA DA!!
1. Mike Dallaire is King (President)
2. Bill Scott is (despite his best efforts) Vice President
3. Fran Minnock is reprising his role as Treasurer
4. And last (but certainly not least) the lovely Kathy Rocha returns as clerk
We also have some new blood at the Board of Governors position:
1.Bruce Swiren
2.Larry Donnelly
3.Nancy Ridley
Thank you to all of you for your willingness (no matter the reluctance) to serve! Let’s make America Great again!!! (or
at least CCBCC)
Of primary interest to all is this year’s BLW event which is in the process of an overhaul with the goal of growing the
event to elevate its status outside of the local area. The Gold Sponsor is South Shore MINI and they will send five new
MINI models which we will match with vintage Minis. A special MINI-"Concours d’Evolution" The event will take place
at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel and Resort which we had the chance to preview at this annual meeting. The facilities and
hotel are premium and the view is breathtaking. There is a full color comprehensive brochure outlining the event
which will include discounted hotel rooms and four tech sessions during the weekend. There was some concern
amongst the membership about a potential increase in registration fees. Once the concerns were voiced, however,
the board reconsidered the issue and, I have it on good authority (a breakfast meeting with the President himself )
that the decision to raise the rates was reversed. This should encourage all members who have concerns to voice
them in the appropriate venue and they will be heard. All board meetings are open and your officers are interested in
your input. Anyone who has new ideas will be welcome to present them. There is always a need for new people (or
old) to become involved and to keep the club afloat.
It was also suggested that people should remember to register online for events so that we have an accurate
headcount and to prevent anyone from being left out.
For new business, Bill Scott presented well-deserved recognition awards to Charlie Frink for his willingness to step in
as President when the position was unexpectedly vacated mid-term. Also recognized for their untiring efforts on
behalf of CCBCC were both Mike and his long-suffering spouse Pam Dallaire (who was ably represented in her
absence by-yours truly- Jodi Fletcher)
After a brief (mercifully) speech by our new (old) President and a State of the Treasury report by our Treasurer, both
had to exit abruptly (or risk divorce) due to the mandatory attendance at the dance recital of their shared
granddaughter.

- Continued
Immediately following the business meeting, members who cared to were given a tour of the BLW show site and
several of us stayed for lunch with a view of the beautiful Sea Crest beach. Several members took advantage of the
chance to break bread (and maybe tip a drink or two) together at Red's and in addition to the sunny day and
gorgeous view, were treated to the unique sight of a pot-bellied pig being walked on a leash down the beach!!! The
lunch was a lovely preview of things to come at BLW. We welcomed potential new members and some members
we haven't seen recently, Jim McKenzie and Forbes "Toby" Anderson whom I believe were both glad they came
(along with the rest of us BTW). A good time was had by all. ( I remembered to take photos at the end of the meeting - Duh!!)

Breakfast Run with Lemons???
by
Jodi Fletcher and Bill Scott
On Sunday June 12th the first annual Breakfast Run began bright and EARLY and was ably led by our own Lester
Frank (and assisted by the lovely lady Cynthia.) Despite the 7:30am start, there were nine cars gathered as the sun
burst through the clouds. Les led a tour through the beautiful Cape Cod back roads from Sandwich to Brewster
without losing anyone! By the time we arrived at the Café Optimist (or was it the - Optimist Café - so early in the
morning) for breakfast, Cindy finally woke up and joined us. We filled two large tables in the bright and cheery
dining room where we sipped a welcome cup of coffee and perused the large menu. Things began to liven up,
especially when the food arrived.

Breakfast with Lemons
continued
Following a wonderful breakfast, good food, good service, good company, and with tummies full, it was time to
head out on the next part of the event. Kathy & Joe Rocha dared to block traffic so that we could pull out as a
group heading east on scenic 6A. Perfect weather for the 10 cars on a morning tour down this historic highway
with nothing to worry about except one traffic light between us and the Lemon Tree Village of Shops. Yep! it
caught half of the group, but not a problem as the village is right on 6A, you couldn't miss it.
They were ready and waiting for us and rushed to remove the cones so that we could park all
the way in front of the shops so that the cars could be clearly seen while driving by on 6A. We
arrived a bit earlier than scheduled, so some members who were going to join us at the show
had not yet arrived. When they did, we filled all but two spaces, but that was not a problem
either as one of the visiting shopper mentioned that he had an MGB, so we ask him to park his
"purple" MGB in with our group. Mike Wyatt was driving by in his Jaguar XJ6, so
we parked him in line with the cars to complete the show.
Mark Kielpinski, the representative of the Village of Shops, came out to thank us
for coming and to hand me the generous check for sponsorship of our BLW event.
He was joined by Julie Cumes, a free lance photographer, who took a few photos
of the cars and the event. The Shops were hosting an Arts & Crafts Fair kicking off
their beginning summer sales event.
Some of our members did a bit of shopping on their own, always a nice diversion. Others just
relaxed enjoying the warm sunny day and the opportunity to just enjoy each other's
company. A very relaxed and enjoyable day. Hopefully we helped the shops and they helped
us with their sponsorship of the BLW.
Don Fletcher counted down the last few minutes until 3:00. Most of us were ready to
pack it up and head for home as it had been a long, but an enjoyable day. Thanks to all
the members who did the breakfast run from Sandwich to the Optimist Café in
Yarmouth Port and on to the car show at the Lemon Tree Village of Shops in Brewster.
