IN / OUT SELECTION
Making a selection is one of the most used features when editing
audio. It´s used when selecting areas that need to be removed or
rearranged. There is no right or wrong way of editing. In this spirit
Hindenburg also has a number of ways of doing the same
operation. This way you can find your own favorite shortcuts and
workflow.
Mouse > Drag “i” beam
The cursor-tool will become an “i” bean when placed at the lower
part of a region. When the cursor-tool becomes an “i” beam, you
can drag a selection.
Hold down the left mouse button and drag.

Copy a larger amount of “room-tone”
Make a small selection where you would like to mask

VOLUME EDITING
see tutorials
Hindenburg does not operate with traditional “rubber bands” for volume editing.
Volume editing is done to the region it self. So to edit a specific area, just make a selection and drag the top
(gain) line.
This can be used for “Ducking” ambience or music under Narration - or to volume edit peaks in an
interview.
GAIN
Adjust level > Drag Top Handle
N.B if you wish to set the level back to the Auto level then let it snap
to the green level readout.
Alternatively run a new level analyze (Tools / Auto level)
Tool tip
The tooltip indicates the current level and and gain change.
example :
-4.8 dB = current level
(-2,3) = gain change made by user

DUCKING VOLUME
Creating a “Duck” will automatically create fade “Handles”
You can adjust the handles at any time.
1. Make a selection > set in/out markers
2. “Duck” selection > Drag top “Handle”
SHELVING VOLUME
“Shelving” is used for fading down a region and keeping a continues level. “Shelving” is useful for adding
ambience to a montage
1. Make a selection > set in/out markers
2. “Shelving” selection > Drag top “Handle” OUTSIDE THE SELECTION

By splitting the region it is possible to separate the stereo file into two mono files. Leaving you with a Left
& Right region. Then simply delete the empty region
