THE PILATES STORY
students extraordinary mastery of
their own bodies. Joseph Pilates
moved to the United States in 1925,
and his system soon gained the
loyalty of renowned ballet dancers
such as Martha Graham and George
Balanchine.
Our story begins with the life of
Joseph H. Pilates. Growing up in 19th
century Germany, Joseph Pilates
was often ill. He suffered from a
host of conditions, including asthma
and rheumatic fever, that made him
seem sickly and frail.
For more than one hundred years,
the work of Joseph Pilates, his
wife Clara and their early followers
have been transforming the bodies
and lives of millions of enthusiasts
around the world.
But he refused to let his ailments
define him. As a young teenager,
he trained himself in yoga, weight
training and martial arts, becoming
strong both physically and mentally.
At Peak Pilates® we’re continually
inspired by Joseph Pilates’ story,
and we believe in preserving
and advancing his mission. Our
equipment is meticulously crafted
and built from the finest materials;
we stay true to Joseph Pilates’
exact specifications while applying
the latest science and technology
to make each apparatus as smooth
and effective as possible. We
want our instructors to become
extraordinary teachers and
ambassadors of the Pilates system.
Peak Pilates instructors don’t just
take students into their classes; they
take them into their hearts.
In 1912, he moved from Germany
to England, where he taught selfdefense courses and worked as a
boxer and self-defense instructor.
But as World War I raged across
Europe, he was among the German
nationals to be detained in a British
internment camp. There, he began
to train his fellow internees, using
only the materials and space that
were available to him.
Bedridden patients were taught
to strengthen their muscles using
the resistance of their own bodies
and springs that were attached to
their hospital beds. He studied the
movements of animals in nature.
And he drew on his knowledge of
yoga and gymnastics to refine a
system of exercises that allows
practitioners to gain strength and
endurance that stems from the
human core.
Whether our students are affected
by injury or high-performance
athletes, we carry out our mission
in the same way Joseph Pilates
carried out his: with respect for the
practice, love of the student, and an
unwavering belief in the power of
every human body.
He called his technique “Contrology,”
because it was just that: a wholistic
workout that required mindful
control of both muscle and breath.
In return, the exercises gave

PEAK PILATES ® STORY
We’ve also created the very best Pilates
instructor education system in the world.
Rooted in classical Pilates, our comprehensive
instructor certification covers the full breadth
of traditional Pilates, while also leaving room
for more contemporary exercises, flows and
teaching styles. We focus not just on content,
but on communication, meeting each instructor
wherever they are on their journey and helping
them grow into the best teacher they can be.
We lead and support the Pilates community,
offering a full range of equipment, education,
space assessments, high-quality programming,
marketing support and customer service to
individual teachers, facilities and participants
around the world.
20 years ago, surrounded by the majestic
Colorado Rockies, we created Peak Pilates®.
We were born out of dual inspirations: the
pristine beauty of the mountains, and the
timeless designs and movement principles
created by Joseph Pilates. Today, we bring
those inspirations together, offering the
world’s most elegant Pilates equipment and
unparalleled instructor education.
As Pilates instructors ourselves, we know
first hand that the quality, character and
motility of the equipment critically shapes
the Pilates experience for both instructor
and student. Using only the finest materials,
including traditional wood, sustainable bamboo
and modern metals, we honor Joseph Pilates’
original designs—deliberately including only
those components that we believe will preserve
and bolster the integrity of authentic Pilates
exercises.
We want to bring the greatness of Pilates to
the world and, in doing so, elevate the Peak
Pilates community to an inspiring new level of
health and vitality.

spinal column.”

CORE STATEMENTS
At Peak Pilates® , we believe in the power of inspiration. We owe our existence
to the personal power and transformative benefits to the movement practices
of Joseph Pilates. Our singular mission is to pass that inspiration on to you, our
community of students and instructors.
We are dedicated to preserving and promoting the timeless work of Joseph
Pilates through the meticulous, first-class design of every program and piece of
equipment we produce. We strive to ensure that everything we do is imbued with
the qualities at the heart of our company: Beauty, Tradition, Mindfulness.
Beauty. Pilates by its very nature is a supremely elegant physical practice.
At Peak Pilates, we work tirelessly to do justice to that elegance by creating
equipment, programming and instructional material that is intuitive, sophisticated
and refined.
Tradition. Our roots are in the ethos and discipline created by Joseph Pilates. We
seek to honor and preserve that tradition, while also embracing innovations in
style and technology that can further promote the practice we love.
Mindfulness. Pilates is a centering, strength-building practice, and at Peak Pilates,
we reflect those qualities through a conscious approach to both our equipment
and practicioners. We seek to build a focused mind-body awareness in both our
students and instructors through the practice of classical Pilates. If we succeed
in our mission, each person that encounters Peak Pilates should walk away
stronger, healthier and more at peace with themselves and with the world
we share.

flows and teaching styles.
Instructors with Integrity, Intuition and Inspiration
We love Pilates, and we firmly believe it has the power
to positively impact the lives of every practitioner.
We are passionate about helping instructors who
are inspired by the same mission, and we cherish

a mindful, effective and well-balanced approach to
the body. We believe that transitioning fluidly from
exercise to exercise creates graceful, efficient, beautiful
movement.
The Peak Pilates® Certification programs offer a
myriad of programming options for both group and
private instruction. Our instructors offer classes on the
mat, reformer or tower, as well as utilize Peak Pilates’
proprietary session format to combine all three for an
integrated and systematic total-body workout.

individual clients as well as group
Pilates mat classes. At the heart
of our instruction, the classical

of classical Pilates. There are no
prerequisites for the course, but
previous exposure to mat Pilates
is recommended. The Peak Pilates
Basic Mat course is open to health

in-depth discussion of the Pilates
principles behind exercise order
and progression. Key teaching
concepts presented during the
course expand on techniques for
effective instruction, including
imagery cues, effective touch
techniques and contraindications
for exercises. Attendees must first
complete the Peak Pilates Basic Mat
Course before enrolling. We also
recommend obtaining current CPR/

Peak Pilates® Business
Development Specialist
NIKKI BOURDREAUX
What first brought you to Peak
Pilates®?
I was introduced to Peak Pilates
when I took my first Pilates lesson
with Master Instructor, Robin Beck.
It was instant love—I felt connected
to my body in a whole new way
through the work. It was Robin
who referred me to Peak Pilates
to fill the newly created position of
Education Specialist Representative
in 2002.
How would you describe Peak
Pilates' unique approach to
instructor education?
I know we say it a lot, but Peak
Pilates teaches instructors how
to teach, not just what to teach.
I know this first hand, as I have
been through our entire educational
program and am a comprehensively
certified instructor. We have a
5-part formula for success that
truly works and every day I receive
calls from instructors certified
through other programs who want
the success and confidence our
Peak teachers have.
Evolve Continuing Education Program
Peak Pilates® Evolve CEC Program allows certified
instructors to earn CECs by taking private lessons with Peak
Pilates Master Instructors at their Education Centers or
facility. Each private lesson awards 0.5 CECs per lesson hour
petitioned, with a maximum total of 6 CECs every two years.
Bridge Program
The bridge program is designed to allow Pilates instructors
from other programs to transition to the Peak Pilates
method. Instructors who hold a certification in Pilates mat or
apparatus will be placed into the bridge program based on
their certification level and/or equipment competency. The
Peak Pilates education department works with each bridge
candidate individually to ensure their transition into the Peak
Pilates education pathway is applicable to their learning
needs.
Newsletter Quizzes
Every quarter, a continuing education quiz is published in
the Peak Pilates Newsletter to offer instructors an at-home
opportunity to read about theoretical and practical concepts
with a corresponding quiz worth 2 Peak Pilates CECs.
MASTER INSTRUCTOR (MI) CAMPS
Peak Pilates selects high-caliber instructors to represent
our program. We recruit dedicated instructors with a
passion for training new teachers and provide them with
unparalleled support. Our formal mentoring system gives
Peak Pilates Master Instructor candidates the teaching tools
and professional support that can only come from one of
our specially trained, top-tier master instructors.

CHAPTER 2
How does the quality, character and
movement of the equipment shape
the experience for both Pilates
instructor and student?
The equipment is amazing. It is
easy to use and helps to keep the
rhythm and flow of the workout. It
also allows the instructor to move
between the mat, reformer, tower,
chair and barrel for a challenging
and integrated workout.
Becoming a Peak Pilates® Master Instructor requires a
considerable investment of time and resources for both the
potential Master Instructor and the Peak Pilates education
team. Candidates travel, study, prepare and practice to
meet the pathway requirements and ensure the standard of
excellence we strive for at Peak Pilates.
MI Camp is a time devoted to exploring new skills, working
to develop authenticity and deliver inspired education. Our
MI’s are the pride of our program and each offers his or her
unique skill set that brings Peak Pilates to life.
Master Instructors
At Peak Pilates, our fundamental goal is to bring Pilates to
the masses in a manner that is both accessible and inspiring
to all who encounter it. The heart of our educational program
belongs to our trio of master trainers—Colleen Glenn, Clare
Dunphy and Zoey Trap—who together bring over 70 years of
combined experience in the Pilates and fitness industries. In
2000, the three were challenged to create a new paradigm
for classical Pilates education that would demystify the
often-misunderstood system and deliver it in an easy-tofollow format. Their diverse skills and backgrounds made
them the perfect team to take on the task and develop a
program that allows teachers to unlock the beauty and
potential of the system. Proprietary teaching methodologies
were developed to enable instructors to identify and address
any weaknesses or points of improvement in their teaching.
Additionally, it was important to incorporate the latest in

PEAK PILATES ®
What are the principles that Peak
Pilates stands for?
To me, Peak Pilates stands for
exceptional, integrated and classical
Pilates in a uniquely supportive
environment.
How does Peak Pilates cover
the full breadth of traditional
Pilates, yet still leave room for
contemporary exercises, flows and
teaching styles?
We teach each teacher to think
critically, be present and respond
to the body in front of them. We
help each teacher to individualize
the work to each of their students,
and to empower them to do more
than they thought they could do.
Once you understand the classical
system, you realize that most
contemporary additions are simply
building blocks or variations of the
classical work.
What makes Peak Pilates unique?
There are so many things that set
us apart. I have taken many Pilates
lessons and classes, and I feel that
Peak Pilates uses an integrative and
systematic approach based on the
classical order of the exercises.
The workouts are challenging,
motivating, and move with rhythm
and flow. Any time I walk into a
conference session, I can pick out
our Peak Pilates Instructors.

Managing Director
The Pilates Place Rotterdam
HELGA STEKELENBURG
Why do you offer Peak Pilates® Trainings?
I consider Peak Pilates® to be the best in education. As a
Pilates instructor, I am trained by Peak Pilates so I know
the quality of the education programs. What I also love
is that Peak Pilates is classical—we honor and uphold the
legacy of Joseph Pilates.
How do Peak Pilates Comprehensive Certifications pay
attention to detail?
Peak Pilates has developed a unique formula: the 5-Part
Formula for Success. This formula gives a teacher all
the guidelines they need to teach a safe and structured
class. From a beginner to a more advanced teacher, the
formula can be applied to all.
How does Peak Pilates support you as an education
center?
We have an awesome team that supports us as an
education center, helps with planning and provides advice
and marketing tools.
What qualities make a great instructor?
First, a passion for Pilates and desire to share your
knowledge. A great instructor is one who has a genuine
interest in their clients and embodies “The Work.” As we
say, "In order to teach Pilates, you must do Pilates."
How does becoming an education center grow your
business?
As an education center we stand for the high quality
standard of Peak Pilates; we uphold the same quality
teaching our clients.

Studio Owner
The Good Space Pilates and Yoga Studio in Texas
MELODY MORTON
How does Peak Pilates support you as an education
center?
Education centers are supported through the Master
Instructor or facility tools online, where all Peak Pilates
programs, forms and agendas can be accessed and
downloaded instantly. The site also provides marketing
tools, such as logos and photos. Other invaluable
resources that Peak Pilates offers to education
centers are Master Instructor Camps and the Pilates
Empowerment Summit, as well as the network of Senior
Master Instructors who are available for support and
guidance on every level.
Why do you offer Peak Pilates® Trainings?
I offer Peak Pilates® Education because I have built
a successful business using Peak Pilates-trained
instructors. The cornerstone of my success lies in
the foundation of the education program: Peak Pilates’
5-Part Formula.
How do Peak Pilates Comprehensive Certifications pay
attention to detail?
At the center of Peak Pilates’ education program lies
a core value: it's not what you are teaching but how.
How do you sound? How do you safely and effectively
get a body moving? How do you present yourself
as a professional Pilates instructor? How do you
effectively teach a complicated exercise? How do you
safely progress a client? These questions are not only
answered in the Peak Pilates education programs,
they are experienced. Through the education program
drills, discussions, workshops, and teaching evolves the
conscientious, passionate Peak Pilates Instructor.
What qualities make a great instructor?
Empathy. A passion to serve. Thirst for learning and
love of education. And above all, the joy of sharing a
movement system that transforms lives.
How does becoming an education center grow your
business?
It's simple. My clients become my students, my students
become my instructors, my instructors funnel more
clients into my education program, and so on it goes.....

CHAPTER DETAILS THE DEPTH AND BREADTH OF
OUR FIRST-CLASS LINE OF PILATES EQUIPMENT.

PEAK PILATES ®
CHAPTER 4
The Reformer and Tower
Likely the most well-known Pilates apparatus,
the reformer offers a variety of systematic
movements and flow. It accommodates all levels
of Pilates enthusiasts with its unique pulley
system, gliding carriage and spring tension
that creates instability while simultaneously
supporting the body.
We offer options and customizations for
every client to allow for optimal comfort and
adjustability, making our equipment a perfect fit
for all body types.
All of the products in our classical line are
constructed with meticulous care in Boulder,
Colorado.
Studio Wood Line
Metal line
Our studio wood line is designed exactly the way
Joseph Pilates envisioned it. Each piece is handcrafted out of solid wood or sustainable bamboo
and is built true to Joseph Pilates’ original design
and specifications. Built with beauty, function
and tradition in mind, the equipment allows for
the body to naturally flow through the original
exercises developed by Joseph Pilates.
In 2006, we developed an innovative line of metal
equipment to support the emerging popularity
and growth of Pilates. With the intention of
making Pilates accessible, space-efficient and
cost-effective, we created an ingenious new
line of portable, stackable equipment that was
both inspired by the traditional wood designs
and maintains to our high standards for quality.
We envisioned this versatile line as the perfect
solution for small group equipment classes,
studios and health clubs, giving even more people
the chance to experience the remarkable effects
of traditional Pilates.
Our studio wood line includes the reformer,
Cadillac, wunda chair, high/low combo chair and
high ladder barrel as well as additional auxiliary
equipment and accessories such as the spine
corrector, ped-o-pull and foot corrector. Our
new classical Afina™ reformer combines stateof-the-art technology with elegant design and
unparalleled performance.
We also offer slightly evolved versions of the
original apparatus with added functionality and
advancements such as our Tower System,
a reformer/half cadillac combination, our
Sportsmed™ line, and our cadillac convertible.
In developing the metal line, we placed strict
focus on keeping dimensions and functionality
accurate to maintain the efficacy of the
traditional Pilates classical flow.
We offer a variety of options in this line, from
our Fit™ reformer that stacks both horizontally
and vertically, to our patented PPS Deluxe, the
only reformer and tower solution on the market
that folds up for easy storage. Our sleek metal
line makes our Peak Pilates ® equipment fit the
needs of your space and your clients.
“The number one design driver of
the Afina™ reformer project was
that it first needed to be about the
classical work.”–john cook, vice president of design

What is your design philosophy?
Always focus on the experience first and look to design
the outcome. The details that make it through that filter
will always percolate to the top. In the case of our Peak
Pilates® equipment, that focus has everything to do
with the classical work and designing products that will
enhance the already wonderful experience of Pilates.

Peak Pilates® is the only major manufacturer to offer premium solid oak
standard on all reformer frames, plus bamboo or hardrock maple upgrade

designed to last a lifetime.
Bamboo is classified as a rapidly renewable material and is considered to be
one of the greenest materials today. All Peak Pilates wood equipment, with
the exception of our SportsMed™ reformer, is available in amber and natural

Carriage Construction
Our carriages are constructed
from 13-ply Baltic birch with
hardwood veneers throughout,
creating a dimensionally stable
platform resulting in enhanced
performance ride quality. Sculpted,
contoured shoulder pads conform
to the shoulders, ensuring comfort,
and full support for both reclining
and standing positions. The quickconversion hinged carriage with no
detachable parts allows for easy
transition between modes.
Our durable, nickel plated springs
with tapered ends are made of the
highest quality music wire.
The classical design of our fourposition, anodized aluminum foot
bar allows you to transition easily
between exercises. All foot bars
come standard with our padded
deluxe wraparound cover.
Exclusive Ultra-glide Tracking
System
Delivering the industry’s smoothest,
quietest and best-aligned ride, our
eight-wheel carriages have two
bearings per wheel for reliable load
handling capability. All bearings
are sealed so that no lubrication is
required for the life of the wheel. No
side wheel adjustment needed.
The positioning of the horizontal
tracking wheels are individually
adjusted to match the carriage to
its respective frame, eliminating
free play. Anodized aluminum tracks
are used to inhibit the build-up of
unsightly aluminum oxide residue
and enhanced durability. Five
carriage stop positions are located
at the end head of the frame to limit
carriage travel.
We are so certain of the durability
of our equipment that we are
pleased to offer a lifetime warranty
on all wood equipment. Please
see our warranty for details and
exceptions
Classic Resistance Ride Kit
Create a custom, classic feel with
our resistance ride upgrade. The
wheels create the resistance that
requires the user to push and pull
through the exercise. Maintenancefree bushings mean a wheel with no
grease and no mess that provides a
superior ride and feel.

CHAPTER 5
ROCIO CÁRCELES MORENO
Peak Pilates® Master Instructor
Madrid, Spain
What does Peak Pilates mean to you?
After more than 10 years having devoted myself,
body and soul, to making the Peak Pilates brand name
known both in the field of education and in the sale of
equipment in Spain and Portugal, I feel very proud of
continuing to do my bit toward making Peak Pilates one
of the finest enterprises in the realm of Pilates.
How does the quality, character and movement of
the equipment shape the experience for both Pilates
instructor and student?
The versatility provided by the Peak Pilates ® equipment,
specifically the equipment designed for spaces shared
with other activities make instructor-student relations
more free-flowing and natural. On one hand, the
students easily handle the equipment, thus feeling fully
integrated into the class and therefore being able to keep
up with the flow of the class. And, from the instructor’s
side, this eases the process of replacing springs, bar,
belts, etc.—which is a major plus for small group classes.
How does Peak Pilates reach across the global
community?
Peak Pilates has created a wide-ranging network of
master instructors who have successfully conveyed all
of the brand’s concepts, keeping the teachings unified
worldwide.
What makes Peak Pilates ® instructor education
unique?
One of the key elements of the Peak Pilates training
program is the Methodology aspect. The “Pilates Teacher
Training” is a great tool for instructors, because it
provides the precise instructions from the very start for
carrying out their work successfully and effectively.
As far as Spain and Portugal are concerned, we have
aimed to get the students to experience a “true school”
where they can always come to seek advice or guidance.
By way of events and workshops, students from
different courses and levels get to know one another,
forming bonds making this a school of reference not
only at the educational level, but also on a personal level.
What are the principles that Peak Pilates stands for?
Peak Pilates upholds the vital principles of the classic
method while adding an important aspect: the five parts
of the mind, enriching Pilates as a body-mind activity.

CHAPTER 5
KAYOKO TAKADA
Peak Pilates® Master Instructor
Tokyo, Japan
Why Peak Pilates®?
I am incredibly interested in Peak Pilates ®’ unique
approach, Peak Pilates sees the Pilates method as a
system and has a wonderful teaching method.
How does the quality, character and movement of the
equipment shape the experience for both the Pilates
instructor and student?
It provides a very deep, subjective experience that has
the potential to influence your life.
What makes Peak Pilates ® instructor education
unique?
I’ve been involved with various kinds of programs, and
have worked as a program director in a fitness club. I’ve
never seen such a complete and consistent system as
Peak Pilates.
What makes Peak Pilates unique?
They have a global network that aims for perfection.
What are the principles that Peak Pilates stands for?
Peak Pilates principles include fundamental Pilates
principles, as well as mind-body integration, which was
important to Joseph Pilates. In short, Peak Pilates is
bringing new life to the Pilates method by maintaining
classic Pilates principles and adding contemporary style
to it. Furthermore, the Peak Pilates principles not only
apply to our practice of Pilates but also to teaching
Pilates.
What does Peak Pilates mean to you?
I was first introduced to Peak Pilates while I was in
the United States and have been with them ever since.
Without Peak Pilates, the Pilates method may not have
spread in Japan—so I see Peak Pilates as my partner.
How does Peak Pilates reach across the global
community?
Peak Pilates realizes that it’s necessary to have a
partnership with each region and offer marketing and
support.

CHAPTER 5
Peak Pilates® Team Leader and
Senior Program Specialist
ZOEY TRAP
What makes Peak Pilates ® instructor education
unique?
Unparalleled! As I travel to countries, visit studios, and
present at conventions, I can always pick out the Peak
Pilates® instructors. They stand strong, sound clear and
understand the work and how to bring its benefits to the
body in front of them. I am so proud of our graduates
and it is no surprise that many comprehensive
instructors from other schools come back to certify
with us to truly learn to teach. Teaching Pilates is truly
an art and a science and we give every instructor the
tools they need in their professional kit to succeed.
understood, true creativity is realized. When you work
with an order, you are free to be fully present with
your student, to help them progress one session at a
time. Each Peak Pilates teacher brings his or her unique
background and personality into the teaching experience,
adding 'yappas' or extra touches to help students
progress to keep the workouts fresh and inspiring.
What makes Peak Pilates unique?
From the beginning we were dedicated to creating a
systematic program that took the guesswork out of
teaching. That begins with the materials, but to a great
degree is really brought to life through our coaching
and mentoring programs. Our master instructors
undergo vigorous training and mentoring at every step,
every level. We want to ensure that no matter where
you take a Peak Pilates course you get the same high
quality experience. Our coaching process has been
revolutionary in the industry and is a distinguishing
factor. All of our master instructors receive a lot of
training on how to provide feedback that will accelerate
the learning process and help instructors gain the
confidence and skills they need to be successful
professionals. Every Peak Pilates instructor understands
the learning process and knows how to meet their
student where they are—whether they are a first-timer
or have practiced for a lifetime.
How does the quality, character and movement of
the equipment shape the experience for both Pilates
instructor and student?
The Peak Pilates apparatus is designed to maximize flow,
create more efficient transitions, and allows the teacher
to keep the student in motion and reap maximal benefits
from the session. I love the beauty of the studio line and
have always had custom colors to create a rich, ambient
feel to my studios. Having an opportunity to use a four
or five spring setting, to choose leather straps or ropes,
to even choose the wheels allows for an instructor to
custom fit the apparatus to their studio's needs.
How does Peak Pilates cover the full breadth of
traditional Pilates yet still leave room for individual
teaching styles?
Peak Pilates teaches deeply into the traditional work
and guides teachers in how to help students meet their
personal goals. Once the framework of the system is

ANA CABAN
What makes Peak Pilates unique?
What makes Peak Pilates unique is our commitment to
our customer, our superior products and service, our
attention to detail and the ease of use in our equipment.
How did you come to work for Peak Pilates®?
When the opportunity arose to be a part of the Peak
Pilates® sales team, it was a no-brainer for me. I had
owned one of the first Peak Pilates-equipped studios in
the world in Miami, Florida, and had already been a Peak
Pilates Master Instructor for over 10 years. So, “selling”
Peak Pilates equipment and education is something that I
already had been doing for years. I’ve never considered
it selling—I am simply sharing my passion for the brand.
How does being a Master Instructor help you as a Key
Accounts Sales Representative, and vice versa?

What sets Peak Pilates® equipment
apart from the rest?
To me, the Colorado location and
the fact that it is a privately owned
company that has been in business
for 20 years make Peak Pilates®
unique. Furthermore, the equipment
is reliable and customizable—and the
craftsmanship is exceptional.

HEADQUARTERS & LOCATIONS
The Peak Pilates program is truly global. Our headquarters
are in Venice, California, and we also have locations in Rancho
Dominguez, California, Boulder, Colorado and Rotterdam,
Netherlands.
While our headquarters happen to be located in Venice, California,
we are an international company supporting an international
community.
MANUFACTURING
Our extensive line of wood products are hand crafted in our
manufacturing facility in Boulder, Colorado, and built to the highest
quality of industry standards. Owning our own manufacturing
facility not only allows us the ability to work closely with our
expert wood craftsmen, but gives us the opportunity to participate
in the daily work flow and production of the equipment. This hands
on approach and close relationship between our engineers and
craftsmen enables us to proactively ensure quality design and
customization for every unit built. In addition to making equipment
specific to our customers’ needs, we value our collaborative
relationships with our master instructors to create designs that
are essential and optimal to the practice.
Our wood craftsmen are artists, working meticulously with each
product out of their love for their craft and extensive woodworking
expertise. For more than 20 years, our talented team of
woodworkers have dedicated themselves to ensure every piece of
Peak Pilates® equipment is built to perfection.
We have worked to constantly improve the design and functionality
of all our wood products. We are committed to bringing the Pilates
community our top-of-the-line equipment and look forward to
refining each piece—preserving the past while incorporating new
technological advancements and preparing for changes to come in
the years ahead.

CHAPTER 6
"We strive to provide a
comprehensive collection of
education and programming
that helps professionals
continually grow."
— JOHN BAUDHUIN
JOHN BAUDHUIN
CEO, MAD DOGG ATHLETICS, INC.
What does Peak Pilates stand for?
As a manufacturer, our goal has always been to
design and produce the highest quality products that
function as great as they look while staying true to
our traditional heritage. As one of the world’s largest
fitness and wellness education companies, we strive to
provide a comprehensive collection of education and
programming that helps professionals continually grow.
In two words, unsurpassed quality.
Why did you want to bring Peak Pilates® into the Mad
Dogg Athletics family?
When we created Spinning® and the indoor cycling
category, we quickly realized the importance of
instruction and programming to creating a great
experience on our bikes. While Pilates is clearly
different than our Spinning program, we recognized
some of the same opportunities to make the best
equipment and marry it with the best education
programs in the industry.
What makes Peak Pilates meaningfully different?
The symbiotic relationship between equipment and
education means neither can be developed in a vacuum,
so it’s our deep understanding of the importance of
balance between the two that sets us apart. Every piece
of equipment we make starts with a collaborative effort
between our engineering and design team and the
professionals that bring our products to life.
What does Peak Pilates bring to Mad Dogg? How does
it diversify the company?
More than ever, different fitness and training programs
compete for relevance in an increasingly competitive
world. We had a front row seat to how Spinning
changed the health and fitness landscape and felt that
our core principles and expertise could help Pilates
professionals and studios compete at the highest level
and provide the types of result-driven experiences that
keep participants engaged and get the most out of their
Pilates practice.
Do you practice Pilates?
Yes, but after hanging around our master instructor
team, I realize how much room I have to grow.
Spinning and Peak Pilates are two different worlds
in fitness. How do you connect the other brands to
Pilates?
Although Peak Pilates® is different than any of our
other brands, they are all connected through our goal
of creating great experiences and outcomes through
exceptional equipment, education and programming.

FINAL NOTE
It's been nearly 20 years since we started high up in
the Colorado Rockies, and yet we are still inspired and
excited by the adventure that continues to bring us to
new heights and expanses.
This, of course, is because of the Pilates professionals
and studios that have made Peak Pilates® their preferred
source of education and equipment. Thank you to our
staff who have proven to be passionate, dedicated
champions of Joseph Pilates' vision. You believe in
the transformative power of Pilates because you've
witnessed it first hand—in your own lives and in the
lives of your clients. Thank you to our instructors, who
are truly our ambassadors. Tireless, skilled and deeply
committed, we see every day how you strive to become
masters of your craft, bringing students a sublimely
effective and enjoyable Pilates experience. Lastly, thank
you to our students who come to us with all types of
stories, all types of skills, and are at the heart of our
mission. You are our guides, our community and our
inspiration.
Though it was a century ago that Joseph Pilates began
developing his revolutionary system of movements,
his work remains as powerful today as it has ever
been. At Peak Pilates, we strive each day to advance
Joseph Pilates' vision of strength and vitality in every
human body. We're honored to share that vision with
you through this book, and we're even more honored
to share this path with you, working in concert to bring
greater health and happiness to every life we touch.
