safety instructions. They are for your protection and should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal
injury or damage to the tool.

indicated with a 1″ (25mm) overhang or less. Overhang
is the distance from the front of collet or chuck jaw to
the tip or point of the bur, mounted abrasive, or other
rotary accessory.
• Never operate any accessory at speeds above its

lower maximum speed rating than the speed of the motor. When properly used, all of Foredom’s accessories can
be operated at the speed ratings listed in this Catalog

V Stones
Made in USA. 45,000 RPM Max Speed
Made with a vitrified, self-sharpening, special aluminum oxide grain with a super hard porous
bond, V Stones are the coolest running and longest lasting abrasive stones. They easily cut hard
metals like titanium, chrome-cobalt, nickel-cobalt, tool steel, and stainless steel, and softer
metals such as lead, pewter, brass and aluminum with minimal smearing and loading. V Stones
also work on ceramic tile, porcelain, wood, acrylic, glass, and marble. They can be used to shape,
texture, and provide detail to carvings. Their larger head sizes and coarser grits make them more
aggressive than our CeramCut Blue Stones. They are an economical alternative to plated and
sintered diamond points.

CeramCut Blue Stones have a unique ceramic and aluminum
oxide grain structure. They are widely used on hard metals,
including hardened and mild steel, steel alloys, chrome cobalt,
titanium, platinum, and other ferrous metals. Also suitable for
use on porcelain materials and wood. CeramCut Blue Stones
maintain their shape and hold their cutting edge longer than
any standard abrasive stones. They are non-impregnating and
non-contaminating.

Using Coolant with Diamond & Ruby Accessories
When drilling or grinding stone, glass, and ceramics with
diamond points you must use a coolant, such as water. Use
Foredom Oil MS10005 when working with metals.
Coolant performs these important functions:
1. It keeps the diamond abrasive particles cool so they don't
heat up and melt the nickel plating or binder which holds
them on the accessory.

Bands and Discs
Diamond Microfinishing abrasives have flexible film backing suitable for metal working and lapidary applications. They work great on
all materials including stone, glass, stainless steel and titanium. Use
wet with water when working with gemstone, rock and glass, and oil
when working on metals. Bands in several grits come in 1/4″ and 1/2″
(6, 13mm) diameters for use with rubber drum mandrels with 3/32″
(2.35mm) & 1/8″ shanks. Discs in 3/4″ and 2″ (19 & 51mm) with
PSA backs come in several grits for use on disc mandrels in Flex Shaft

3M Wet/Dry Micron Graded Polishing Papers
Polishing paper is a soft cloth-like material with aluminum oxide grain
for use on any contoured surface with or without water. Working in
sequence from coarse to the finest sheet brings the best results. 8-1⁄2″
x 11″ sheets come in six micron grades in packs of 10 per grit. Papers
can be cut lengthwise into 1-1⁄2″, 1″, 3/4″ or 1/2″ wide strips, taped,
and made into rolls for use on Finger Sanders and Sanding Sticks.
Papers can also be cut into much smaller pieces, wrapped and glued for
use on split mandrels, see page 18.

Ceramic Purple Abrasives are excellent for sanding and finishing wood, metals,
fiberglass, diestone, plastics, and other materials. 3M’s CubitronTM ceramic
aluminum oxide mineral sharpens itself with use. Once initial grinding wears
the grain flat, it fractures along micro cracks creating new cutting edges. This
process repeats itself throughout the entire grinding process.
• 2 to 4 times longer abrasive life than aluminum oxide bands and discs
• Faster stock removal with less heat and loading
• Available in 60, 80, 120, 220 grit

Felt is a compound carrier and the abrasives
in compounds perform the actual polishing
function. However, surface speed, felt hardness, applied pressure, and frictional contact
determine the amount of surface removal,
or polishing desired. “Cutting down” refers
to a greater amount of surface removal than
does “coloring”. Whether someone uses
the term buffing, polishing or finishing, they
typically mean a 2-step process of cutting
and then coloring by which the luster or
reflectiveness of a product is enhanced.

1 Emery (Black) Contains coarse grit to remove surface
imperfections, scratches, rust, and burrs from
iron, steel and other hard metals.
2 Tripoli (Brown) Most popular compound for blending and
contouring. Also for general cutting down,
scratch removal, and buffing on acrylics and
non-ferrous metals such as zinc die castings,

3 White Diamond Rouge Fast cutting on hard metals. Made with fine

These buffs have only one row of stitching

rouge for coloring or final polishing operations.
Coarse Weave (60 x 60) Muslin
has a more open weave to hold more compound. Used as a general purpose buff with

Maximum speeds shown are based on a 1″ overhang with an accessory that weighs under 1 gram and is smaller than 1/2″ in diameter.
As a general rule, smaller accessories and mandrels can be used at

Micro Chucks and Collet Adapters
Nickel plated Micro Chucks A-M50 and A-MC2 hold various sizes
drills and have 1/4″ head dias. A-M53 also has a 1/4″ head dia. &
holds 3mm rod accessories. Collet Adapter A-M52 (3/16″ head dia.)
and HPL4 part nos. are used to “step down” the collet size without
having to actually change the collet in your handpiece. This is a
great way to easily use a smaller diameter shank accessory quickly
without any of the work involved with changing collets.

Hook & Loop Add Ons Turn 2″ Disc Mandrels
'Velcro® Friendly'
A-10040 Discs with Velcro Hook on one side & PSA on the other and
A-10041 Discs with Velcro Loop on one side & PSA on the other are
needed to adhere and re-use 2″ PSA backed Sanding Discs (see pages
31-32) with A-M338, A-M33 and A-M335 Mandrels.
Here's How it's Done:
1. Remove the psa covering from a A-10040 Velcro® Hook Disc and press
the sticky side down onto the mandrel surface.
2. Remove the psa coverings from a A-10041 Velcro® Loop Disc and any
2″ Sanding Disc and stick together. (You will want to dedicate a Loop Disc
for every Sanding Disc, so be sure to keep a good supply on hand. PSA
backings do not retain enough sticking power if separated for use with
other Discs.)
3. Now join the Velcro loop surface on the back side of the Sanding Disc
to the Mandrel's Velcro Hook surface. It's that easy!

3M Flexible Diamond PSA discs are made from a 2-ply polyester backing
film evenly coated with diamond filled nickel plated dots. Grind, sand,
and smooth wet or dry on glass, carbide, composites, plastic, enamels,
stone, steel, exotic alloys, gypsum, ceramics, wood, bone, chrome cobalt,
painted or plated surfaces. Use wet when working with gemstone, rock
and glass. Bands also available for use in handpieces, see page 8.

Wheels can be used on the face or its side for lapping and can be contoured to any shape with

channels, and half round grooves to help prep any large piece for polishing. However care

Scotch-Brite Satin Finisher Wheels give metal a soft, medium, or coarse finish. All grades are handy at removing firescale from sterling silver and
copper and can also be used to prepare pieces for polishing. Wheels perform well around all types of contoured surfaces and give a uniform finish. They stay together better than traditional satin finishers therefore creating less dust and particles in the air.

These pre-sharpened, quality made steel chisels are for use in Foredom’s H.50 reciprocating chisel handpiece and other power chisel tools, including those from Proxxon and WeCheer. The cutters have 18mm long tangs and 55mm and 75mm overall lengths–from cutting edge to end of tang.
