from the director
All of you are in for a real treat tonight. What a joy it has been to take a trip back
to the late 70s with this cast and crew. As a child of the 70s and 80s, many of the
references and items you see in the show were very much a part of my young life,
if not right from my parent’s home (they never get rid of anything, luckily). At
that time, I remember hearing about women’s roles in the workplace changing,
but thankfully never really experienced the directness or blatancy of sexism that
this musical portrays. I vividly recall seeing the film version of the play on the
Betamax with my parents one night and how much I loved seeing Mr. Hart get
what he deserved from three beautiful, intelligent and crafty women.
Even though there are still practices of gender inequality in the workplace —
women make up 50.8% of the working population yet still (as of 2012) earn only
77 cents of every dollar a man earns — we can still sit back and laugh and enjoy
these characters that show us what it means to hire, promote and pay on merit
alone. We can see how working roles of the 1970s are becoming a thing of the past
and how we don’t win in life because of how God made us; we win because our
ideas are better. We surround ourselves with people who bring positive energy
to our lives. This cast and crew are some of those positive people. They all have
worked so hard to entertain you tonight — both on stage and off — and I am a
better person for having the opportunity to work with all of them. Enjoy your trip
to the past, and thank you for supporting live theatre in the community we love.

Preston Crook (Russell
Tinsworthy) is glad to be
“back to work” on the
Pull-Tight stage. He thanks
Johnny for casting him
is this production. This
is quite a contrast from
previous roles such as Otto
Frank in “Diary of Anne Frank.” Preston
is looking forward to working with this
talented cast. He has checked with a local
jeweler to see about putting his face on a
cameo, since this will be his second role of
that nature in a row. Preston is going on
his 14th year on the Pull-Tight stage in one
facet or another. He has also performed
with St. Cecilia Academy and Towne
Centre Theatre. Enjoy the show!
Claire Crunk (Judy
Bernly) is delighted to
make her Pull-Tight
debut. Her last theatrical
performance was in Battle
Ground Academy’s 2002
production of “The Sound
of Music” as Maria. In
the interim, she has enjoyed singing with
her church choir and has led a children’s
chorus. She is grateful for the Pull-Tight
family’s warm welcome, and she thanks
her family (especially Adam, Bella and
Autumn) for their support. Claire dedicates this performance to any woman who
ever wanted to make life their own.
Carrie Greening (Maria/
candy striper/ensemble)
is a recent graduate of
Belmont University’s
School of Music, where
she earned a bachelor’s
degree in commercial
voice. Hailing from central
Illinois, she previously played leading roles
in several Ken Bradbury original musicals
and enjoyed being in a travelling theatre
group. This is Carrie’s second consecutive
appearance in a Pull-Tight Players Theatre
production, following her ensemble performance in “The Drowsy Chaperone.” Carrie
is thrilled to take the stage again with such
a talented cast, and she would like to thank
God for the joy of music and friendship.
Jeremy Hargis (Dick/
cop/ensemble) is proud to
return to the Pull-Tight
stage after appearing
in last season’s production of Rodger’s and
Hammerstein’s “A Grand
Night for Singing.” He

“Joseph...” (Pharaoh) and “Twelve Angry
Men” (Juror Five). Other credits include
“Lucky Stiff” (Mr. Witherspoon), “Into the
Woods” (Jack) and “The Wizard of Oz”
(Scarecrow). Jeremy currently serves as
this season’s executive producer and one

Musical” (Betty), “Bloody Bloody Andrew
Jackson” (Martin Van Buren), “Closer
Than Ever” (Woman 1), “The Spitfire

for always listening when she sings and
watching when she dances.
Chris Heinz (Josh/doctor/
ensemble) is excited for
his debut performance
with Pull-Tight Players!
Favorite past roles include
Adam in “Children
of Eden” and Cliff in
“Cabaret.” Chris would
like to dedicate his performances to his
fiancé, Mitchell, for supporting his love
of theatre (and the crazy schedule that
comes with it).
JT Landry (Bob/ensemble)
was last seen on the PullTight stage as Jeffrey
in “Godspell” in 2011.
He produced “It’s A
Wonderful Life” in 2012
and directed Rodgers &
Hammerstein’s “A Grand
Night for Singing” in 2013. Other past
Pull-Tight roles include Schroeder in
“You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”
and Bud Frump in “How to Succeed in
Business Without Really Trying.” JT currently serves on the Pull-Tight board of
directors as vice president. Many thanks
to Johnny, Justin, Jeff, Tosha and Brett for
allowing me to be part of the fun!
Sydney Hooper (Kathy/
ensemble) is thrilled to
be back in her hometown
of Franklin joining PullTight for the first time.
She discovered her love
of theatre at a very young
age and has fed her desire
to perform since the age of five. After
graduating from a two-year theatre conservatory program, she began her film
career and can be seen in such films as
the Disney Channel original movie “Let
It Shine,” “42: The Jackie Robinson Story”
and “Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” She
would like to thank everyone at Pull-Tight
for presenting the opportunity to perform
on stage for the first time in two years.
Justin McIntosh (Joe/
ensemble) was last seen
on stage in Pull-Tight’s
2013-14 season opener “A
Grand Night For Singing.”
Previous roles include
Zebulon in “Joseph...” and
Lamar in “Godspell.” He
is also the current Pull-Tight president.
Justin fills the hours of 9-5 working as
the creative and marketing director for
Starstruck Entertainment, the management company for Reba, Kelly Clarkson
and Blake Shelton. He is also a licensed real
estate agent with Village Real Estate. Justin
thanks you, our audience, for continually
supporting the arts in Williamson County.
Shelby McLeod (Doralee
Rhodes) is double delighted to be making her
Pull-Tight debut in “9 to
5!” Previous theatre roles
include Annie in “Annie
Get Your Gun” and Ariel
Moore in “Footloose.” A
Georgia native, Shelby moved to Nashville
to pursue her dream of being a singer/
songwriter and currently works as the
executive assistant to Narvel Blackstock,
Reba McEntire’s manager/husband, at
Starstruck Entertainment. She would like
to thank everyone at Pull-Tight for taking
a chance on her and allowing her to play a
role originated by one of her idols.
Nathan Smith (Dwayne/
ensemble) is thrilled
to make his Pull-Tight
Players debut! A graduate
of Belmont University’s
doctoral program in
physical therapy, he is both
medically and artistically
minded. Nathan works as a physical therapist in Franklin specializing in pediatrics
but also enjoys his passion for singing and
theatre. His favorite roles include Mad
Hatter in “Shrek,” Judah in “Joseph...,”
Nathan Detroit in “Guys and Dolls” and
Sam in “Crazy for You.” He is grateful for
the support of his friends and family and
gives thanks to God for strength.
Ben Pendergrast
(detective/ensemble) is
thrilled and happy to be
making his Pull-Tight
debut with a such a fun
performance. Up until
now, he has done mainly
film and television but
is excited to work with such a talented
cast of people and add this musical to
his repertoire. He is very thankful to his
family and friends who support him. Ben
is especially thankful to his wife, Tosha,
who has been very encouraging and has
inspired him to take this step.
Blandina Vergara-Cruz
(Missy Hart) is excited to
be a part of “9 to 5” and
has enjoyed playing this
role. She would like to
thank Johnny Peppers
and the cast and crew for
welcoming her into the “9
to 5” family–it has been a BLAST! As an
advisor for Pull-Tight’s Teen Youth Actors
Guild, director of the musical “13” and
a board member, she says it has been so
nice to relax and play the part of Missy.
Blandina will be directing Pull-Tight’s next
musical, “Catch Me if You Can.” Enjoy the
show and join us for the rest of the season.
Lisa Roman-Kotto
(Margaret/ensemble) is
a first-time player with
Pull-Tight Theatre and is
enjoying every moment!
Lisa was born and raised
in Los Angeles where she
developed her love of performance at Hamilton Music Academy
and minored in theater arts in college. She
then became a drama and English teacher
for both elementary and high school. Her
husband’s work brought Lisa and their two
amazing children to Nashville four years
ago. Since then, she has enjoyed singing
in choirs, but this is her first stage performance in over twenty years.
