With a height of only 40 mm
and a width also of 40 mm,
there is space everywhere for
the CPV-SC. Even in cases
where other valve terminals
have to be installed away from
the action. Equipped with a
multiple pneumatic connector,
these space-saving miracles
can be installed in many different ways – but still be replaced
as required during servicing
work by undoing just 4 screws.
The terminals can be expanded
for up to 12 valves without difficulty, since optional blanking
plates can be used to reserve
valve positions for future needs.
There is also great emphasis on
safety with the CPV-SC, for
example the momentary-contact
or detenting manual override.
And the LEDs which display the
operating status and thus help
to minimise machine downtime.

For even greater flexibility, the
CPV Smart Cubic terminals offer
a wide choice of valve functions: 5/2-way single solenoid,
5/2-way double solenoid, 3/2way normally closed or open,
and 2/2-way normally closed.

up new possibilities, for example with regard to pneumatic or

using either a SUB-D connector

CPV-SC is a small valve terminal that
is capable of handling a wide range
of pneumatic applications. It is especially well suited to applications
involving cramped space conditions
and is therefore an ideal partner for
small pneumatic drives.
The system is designed to provide
maximum valve terminal performance
with minimum dimensions.

– The CPV-SC valve terminal has a
unique design. The miniaturisation
principle upon which the system is
based uses compact manifold integrated valves with high flow rates.

Expansion
Valve slices can be ordered as accessories and are available with fully
assembled sub-bases with QS or
threaded connections. The functionality of the valve terminal can therefore
be extended by replacing vacant positions.
For ordering purposes, valves have
the valve code printed on the front
and the product type on the rear.

The valve housing and thread in the
sub-bases are made of metal, while
other housing sections are made from
robust plastic materials.

Valves
CPV-SC valves are manifold integrated
valves, i.e. in addition to the valve
function they contain all of the ducts
for supply, exhaust and the working
lines. The supply ducts are a central
component of the valve slices and
allow a direct flow of air through the
valve slices. This helps achieve
maximum flow rates. All valves have a
pneumatic pilot control for optimising
performance. The valve function is

Compressed air supply and exhaust
A basic feature of a CPV-SC valve terminal are the two end plates. The lefthand end plate is used for the supply
of compressed air, while the righthand end plate is used to exhaust the
valve terminal. Exhaust air escapes
either via an integrated large surface
mounted silencer or via a push-in or
threaded connection.
Internal auxiliary pilot air:
External auxiliary pilot air:
If supply pressure for the CPV-SC
valve terminal is within a range of 3
to 7* bar, it can be operated with internally distributed pilot air. Auxiliary
pilot air is branched at the left-hand
end plate of Port 1 for this purpose.
If supply pressure for the CPV-SC
valve terminal is within a range of
–0.9 to 3 bar, it must be operated
with external pilot air. The auxiliary
pilot air is supplied externally via Port
12/14 in this case.

CPV-SC is connected via a multi-pin

A maximum of one valve position –
and therefore one coil or one address
– is assigned to each pin of the multipin plug.
Double solenoid valves ”J” occupy
two valve positions. The left-hand

Displaying and operating
The switching status of every solenoid coil is displayed on the triggering unit LED. The solenoid coils and
valve positions are labelled in ascending order, starting with ”0”.
Inscription labels (type MH-BZ-80X)
can be applied to each valve for
labelling purposes.
The manual override allows the
valve to be switched when in the
electrically non-activated or deenergised status. The valve is
switched by pushing the manual
override. The set switching status
can also be locked by rotating the
manual override. A cover can be
fitted over the manual override to
prevent it from being activated accidentally. (Code ”V”)
