– Konrad is a potter with 30 years experience producing practical
ceramics for everyday use. Angela is an art teacher for Norfolk Public
Schools and has been working with glass for 15 years.
22. 518 New Jersey Ave. – Sarah Ludwig – Watercolor, oil, acrylic &
graphite – Sarah has lived in Norfolk since 2012 and has been painting
portraits of U.S. Navy ships since 2010, when she met her husband
who was in the Navy.
23. 441 New Jersey Ave. – Lynn A. Hembree – Acrylic painting & jewelry
– Lynn is a Norfolk native & professional artist for 20 years, who
specializes in local wildlife, birds, seascapes, garden scapes and pet
portraits.
24. 433 New York Ave. – Stephanie Hale – Mixed media & paper crafts
– A professional graphic designer for 20 years, in her free time,
Stephanie creates wreaths, paper lanterns, ornaments & other unique
home decor.
25. 427 New York Ave. – Katie Whitestone – Upcycled greeting cards –
The Navy brought Katie to CPRV in September 2007. She volunteers at
the Zoo as an education docent and is currently a Parks & Recreation
mayor at ODU.
26. 416 New York Ave. – Kate Gessner – Glass – Hand crafted, stained
glass.
27. 518 New York Ave. – Monica Donaldson – Mixed media – Using
industrial mops, Monica makes dolls of every color, decorated with
ribbon, flowers, beads & buttons.
28. 529 New York Ave. – Mandy Garrett – Oil, acrylics & watercolor –
Mandy is an eclectic artist raised in Charleston, SC, inspired by the
shapes of trees, light on water and the feminine form, who creates
whimsical, yet usable, ready-to-hang pieces.
29. 4620 Newport Ave. – Shelly J. Parks – Note cards – A Norfolk native,
Shelly works for Norfolk Public Schools and makes note cards – simple,
sparkly, funny or serious, to suit a variety of tastes.
30. 510 Connecticut Ave. – Beth Austin – Photography – Beth is a
published rock’n’roll & lifestyle photographer, who has been showing
and selling her work since 1999. She can be found shooting live music
nearly every weekiend in and around the Norfolk area.
31. 4709 Colonial Ave. – Véro Tucker – Textile & fiber – Véro creates oneof-a-kind wearable accessories such as shrugs, shawls, hats, necklaces,
headbands & fingerless mittens.
32. 441 Connecticut Ave. – Kristin Bourcier – Mosaic art – Since 2002,
Kristin has been creating glass and tile pictures, tables & home
ornaments inspired by her love of color and light.
33. 433 Connecticut Ave. – Suzie Berg – Fibers – After 30+ years as
a dollmaker (juried by Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen) Suzie is
currently working with hand & kettle dyed yarns.
34. 419 Connecticut Ave. – Janine Roman – Repurposed furniture & decor
– Janine enjoys turning unwanted ‘junk’ into entirely new treasures,
by transforming old materials into something unique & beautiful:
decorating pieces, doll furniture, wall accents & more.
35. 621 Massachusetts Ave. – Kim Keene – Oil & acrylics – Kim graduated
from Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in fine arts and then
went on to own an art gallery & frame shop in North Carolina, as well
as an artists’ salon in Croatia. She has now settled in Norfolk where
she owns & operates the Paint Gallery.
36. 611 Massachusetts Ave. – Cheryl Copper – Acrylics – Canvas
paintings, keyholders, and decor signage with playful motifs.
37. 440 Massachusetts Ave. – Kristin Mauer – Oil, acrylics & hoops –
Kristin creates funky, earthy acrylics & oil paintings on canvas, as well
as hula hoops and other ‘creative endeavors!
38. 428 Massachusetts Ave. – Shirley Cooper-Sherron – Jewelry,
upcycled/vintage decor – Shirley is a Norfolk native who creates
visions through jewelry, paintings & home decor, utilizing new &
vintage materials. *Art Walk Coordinator, four years running – Thank

39. 545 New Hampshire Ave. – Jamie Summs & Tanya Richey – Mixed
media Both new artists to the art walk, Jamie & Tanya create custom
sci-fi inspired terrariums and custom prints on mixed media including
canvas and wood.

local musician who has been delighting audiences nationwide with her
unique musical skills for more than 30 years & will be performing as
our ‘roving musician’ throughout the day.

5. 256 Lucille Ave. – Lynn Hershel – Acrylics – Hailing from New Haven,
Connecticut, Lynn is new to the art world and has found her passion in
acrylic, abstract art.
RIVERVIEW ARTISTS
1. 127 E. 40th St. – FEATURED ARTIST, Clay McGlamory –Professional
Printmaking Artist – Clay is an adjunct assistant professor at ODU,
where he has taught printmaking & design for 14 years. His work has
been included in over 200 national & international juried & invitational
exhibitions & has won awards for printmaking, glass & mixed media
work. Visit Clay at the Lydia Roper Home, which is also a Hospitality Stop
& suggested starting point for the day’s walking tour.
6. 3912 Holly Ave. – Ian Edwards – Acrylic painting, furniture, jewelry &
prints – A sophomore at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School, Ian enjoys
outdoor sports & hobbies, which he also translates into artistic and
creative experiments.
7. 261 E. 40th St. – Mary A. Hormell – Fabric & yard art – Mary has been
working with fabric and yarn for many years and has recently become
interested in creating yard art.
2. 246 Ethel Ave. – Paula Sirk – Mixed Media – Unique, one-of-a-kind art
crafted with re-purposed materials. vintage hanging glass sculptures, fun
& frivolous yard flamingos, mermaids, hand painted art & signs, mosaic
glass mirrors, wind chimes, bird baths and much more.
8. 202 E. 41st St. – Sheila Robinson – Oil paintings – Sheila enjoys painting
“en plein air” when the weather permits or in her home studio. Founded
the CPRV Front Porch Art Walk in 1998 – Thank you, Sheila!
3. 250 Ethel Ave. – Cynthia Griggs – Watercolors – A lifetime artist, Cynthia
recently retired from a career as a technical illustrator/writer & graphic
artist, now devoting herself full-time to art – and was a participant in the
inaugural Art Walk!
4. 257 Ethel Ave. – Evan Callaway –
Mixed Media – Evan is a fine arts
graduate of TCC & ODU.
Today, he splits time
between raising his
daughters & pursuing
his passion for art.
9. 214 E. 42nd St. – Johnny & Pamela Phillips – Woodworking & jewelry
– Riverview residents since 2004, the Phillips will be donating a portion
of their profits to the Norfolk Beekeepers Club for promotion and
education on urban beekeeping.
10. 211 E. 42nd St. – Doug Aurand – Pottery, glass & iron-forged work
– Doug creates wheel thrown & hand built pottery, often with nature
themes, as well as hand-forged iron and glassware.

14. 4005 Gosnold Ave. – Nancy Topping Bazin – Watermedia – Nancy’s
acrylic & watercolor paintings are described as colorful, whimsical and
fun. As a professional and prolific artist, she will have an unusually large
display.
15. 717 Virginia Ave. – Carrie, Carol & Jamie Spencer – Ceramics & wood
signs – Carrie is a nationally exhibiting artist & instructor who creates
housewares that combine prints, patterns & a love for vintage home
goods. Carol & Jamie create one-of-a-kind wood signs from reclaimed
wood with a focus on the local geographic area & surrounding
communities.

19. 4516 Newport Ave. – Eleanor Powell – Acrylic, cards & reproductions –
“Geometry as Art” – With a BA in Economics from George Washington
University, Eleanor worked at Old Dominion University and proceeded to
earn her MFA after retirement and joined DÁrt Center in 1998. Eleanor’s
work has been shown in Virginia, North Carolina & New York.

former costumer, inspired by humor, Margaret uses various media to
make fun masks to wear and/or display.
18. 617 Pennsylvania Ave. – Sharon McGlone & Joyce Soria – Jewelry &
more – J. Marlou & Company creates one of a kind, handcrafted jewelry
This mother & daughter team uses semiprecious gemstones, wood,
bone, glass, ceramic, shell and crystal, acquired both locally and from
travels to Asia & Europe.

Gallery at One11 ART – Calligraphy/Mixed Media – A Riverview artist
& calligrapher for 22 years, six year resident artist at One11 Art, past
resident artist at the d’Art Center for 20 years.
17. 524 Pennsylvania Ave. – Jinja Notargiacomo – Watercolors – Hailing
from Bath, Maine, Jinja primarily works in the medium of watercolor,
paints & pencils, which connect to nature and beauty.

16. 524 Pennsylvania Ave. – Pat Hentosh – Photography – A retired
professor, Pat started shooting photos seriously, two years ago – and
specializes in nature photography.

11. 4123 Columbus Ave. – Debbie Tompkins – Acrylics – Debbie is a retired
school social worker and recently started painting. Her husband is a
retired art professor and likes Debbie’s ‘naive’ art work – her family is
very encouraging.

20. 615 New Jersey Ave. – Ben Wyatt Bridges – Fingerpaints on canvas –
At 22 months old, Ben is very interested in learning about the world
around and he enjoys music, art and swimming. He has a dedicated daily
art time when he wears his red or blue smock and experiments with all
kinds of mediums.
