Oil Painting of Spaniels at rest realises £2,800 With entries consigned from throughout the country including Shropshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Cornwall, a wide array of goods were available at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s recent West Country Sporting Sale held at their Taunton Salerooms on Thursday 22nd March. Top honours were realised for a 19th Century English School Oil Painting of Spaniels at rest in a game larder selling for £2,800, and the vehicle registration plate EX11 OOR (Exmoor) was secured by a purchaser residing in the National Park at £1,800. “A marked increase in painting and book prices, together with a large attendance of buyers on the day resulted in a successful sale” commented auctioneer, Stuart Triggol.
