2014 - Andrew Harvey Safaris
Welcome to our 5th Annual Newsletter.
We’d like to start off with addressing the Ebola Virus issue that seems to have many of our
clients and most of the world concerned. PHASA (Professional Hunting Association of
South Africa) have compiled a very informative “Ebola Information Kit” If you copy and
past the below link in your browser, it makes for a very interesting and informative read.
In fact, when you have 5 minutes to spare with a cup of coffee (or whatever your vice is)
it’s an excellent site to browse through. They tackle all our issues involving hunting and
any other current concerns or problems relating to South Africa’s hunting industry.

Hunting season kicked off with back to back hunts filling March and April.
Dr. Hans Krebs was our first hunter for the year from Baltimore. A wonderful man to have
crossed our paths. It was a real pleasure to have met you! Dr. Krebs came out on a package and we successfully completed it.
Our next group was a little closer to home. Our good friend’s Dad
from our hometown put us in contact with James, his Dad Paul and friend Steve from the
UK. Our first English client’s!
James, Paul and Steve came out on a cull package, taking a few extra trophies. It was
such a pleasure to have met you and hunted with you all. We wish Paul a long road of
health and possibly expanding into the English market.
Matt Hreben from Chicago graced our shores. His sister-in-law and I were at school together. To say it’s a small world is often an understatement. We had fun and most importantly, shot awesome trophies. Hope to see you out here again Matt and thank you also
for yours and Donne’s hospitality.
As mentioned in last year’s newsletter, we are in the process of partnering up with Safari
Trails International. Chris and Corey were our first client’s to hunt with us as a joined
team. Chris and Corey are from Feel the Rush TV, Canada and we look forward to working
with you both in expanding our venture and to many more enjoyable, successful hunts.
In May we saw brothers, Mike and Larry Storinsky returning for their second hunt. Larry
was accompanied this time with his lovely wife, Teresa who shot her first animal—a Zebra.
As before, we had a great time and shared many laughs. There is always a great sense of
comfort with returning client’s. It’s like having your family visit.
We planned Don Toffolo and Gary Rogers’ hunt for about 3 years. It was great to finally have them
on South African soil and in camp. It was a great hunt and having fantastic friends to do it with always makes the job that much easier. Hope to see you back on our soil in the future!
Bill Thompson and Brandon Ryan also returned to us for a second time. This time we met in Zululand, Natal and began the hunt of the year. We had time constraints, but never fear when you are
with Andrew Harvey Safaris. Success was on the cards and we achieved it! The highlight for me
was when Bill & I had a Leopard about 30 yards from us on the Hyena bait. It was great to have
hunted with you both again and it’s a hunt that will remain with me forever.
Larry booked with us at the Chicago Outdoor Show this year. He came out on a package which he
had his doubts about completing, but he shot very well and we completed the package with time to
spare and extras. Great job Larry!
Matt Brewster and his friend, Adam ended our season. Again awesome people from an awesome
country. A lot of fun was had and great trophies were taken.
It was a pleasure meeting and hunting with you all and if there was ever a fortunate outfitter it’s us!
Thank you for reading and if you have booked to hunt with us next year, we hope your
blood is pumping and that we have you as excited as
we are for 2015’s season. If you are thinking about a
trip, we hope you will consider us as your first choice
and we look forward to corresponding with you.
Hunting season starts early next year, 9 January. Just
enough time before Andrew heads back over to the
States.
His schedule will be as follows:
21—25 Jan (Chicago, for the Chicago Outdoor Sportsman’s Show)
26 Jan—3 Feb (Saskatoon, Canada)
4—7 Feb (Las Vegas, SCI Convention)
8—11 Feb (San Antonio, Texas)
11— 14 Feb (Baltimore)
14—19 Feb (Grand Rapids, Michigan area)
20—21 Feb (Detroit for the SCI Novi Banquet)
As always, if any of our USA friends or prospective clients are in the area, he would love to
see you or if you would like to give him a call, his number is 443-519-7236.
Courtney and Blake are thriving at school. Courtney did exceptionally well in her first year
taking home numerous academic, sports and cultural awards. We have high hopes for her
and needless to say are very proud parents. Blake begins his new chapter next year as he
enters Gr. 1. All signs indicate that he will be following in his sister’s footsteps. We are
excited to see how their school careers unfold and what is in store for them….. and us!
As the year draws to a rapid end, we wish you and your families a healthy and safe 2015.
May it be a year filled with prosperity and wonderful things!
Merry Christmas
Andrew and Mandy
