Annual Varmint Hunt
Hunt Dates:
Hunting will start at noon Saturday, February 7th and Check-in/Weigh-in will begin at Noon Sunday the 8th.
Sunday Weigh-in time: 12:00 pm. Teams must be checked in with official by noon for weigh in. No exceptions.
Weigh-In: Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Posse Building at 1300 FM 1821 N in Mineral Wells, TX (North of Rodeo grounds).
Only cash will be accepted Friday and Saturday the 7th.
***Mail-in entries must be received by Wednesday the 4th and rules read by phone to at least one team member.
*** Money Orders, Cash, or Certified Checks will accepted before the 4th. Only Cash after.
Lunch will be served at weigh-in. Invite your families!

$200 per team (up to 4 hunters)
Payout: 50% to first -- 30% to second -- 20% to third
$160 per entry goes into the points pot.
Polygraph fees will come out of total pot.
Ties will be broken by the team’s heaviest coyote.

You must have a valid Texas Hunting License and all TPWD laws must be followed.
Hunting is allowed anywhere in the state of Texas that you have permission to hunt.
All animals must be called. An animal must at a minimum, stop and look at the call before you shoot.
There is a 6 animal per species maximum per team that will be counted towards points.
Trolling is allowed. You may run the call while driving and shoot an animal as long as you adhere to rule 3.
No hunting bait piles or dragging dead animals to hunt over. If an animal dies on its own then you may hunt by it. If the
landowner drags dead livestock to an area you may hunt the area.
7. Hunters must hunt together at all times. A backup vehicle can be left at the gate.
8. No pooling of animals or adding weight to an animal.
9. No trapping animals or using dogs to catch, bay, or track animals.
10. No hunting out of boats or aircraft.
11. All animals must be killed during tournament hours.
12. Only paid contestants are allowed in the vehicle. Kids are encouraged to participate as a member of your team.
13. Kids under 18 must have written permission from their parents.
14. Entry fees must be mailed and received by the Saturday before the event or paid in cash prior to Saturday.
15. You do not have to Check-In in person but rules must be read aloud over the phone to at least one team member prior
to the end of the day Wednesday the 18th.
Any team winning money is subject to the polygraph test. One member from each team selected for polygraph will be randomly chosen by drawing straws. Any team member determined to be unable to take a polygraph due to intoxication will
result in disqualification of that team.
