The PSA held its annual election at our AGM on

CSEC Examinations
2012-13 Schools Challenge Quiz Team
Elizabeth Brown has risen above the odds
Members: Jamila Beckford
(headgirl), Deneisha Creary,
Jahan Myrie , Naomi

headgirl) and Kenneth
Austin (Coach).
Absent: Oneilya Hall (coach)
and successfully achieved nine (9) subjects
with distinctions in the 2013 CSEC Examinations.
21 students attained 5-9 distinctions
206 students passed 5-9 subjects
66 students attained 1-4 subjects
CAPE Examinations
Naomi Edwards topped the CAPE Unit
one (1) attaining 5 subjects, three (3)
with distinctions.
Sarah Douglas topped Unit two attaining 4 subjects, 3 with distinctions .

Team for their excellent performance in
the recent CAPE/CSEC examinations.
Our younger sisters understands our
motto “Hardwork Overcomes all Difficulties”. The Past Students Association congratulates you on your achievement.
As we commence a new school year, the
PSA here in Jamaica and in the Diaspora
encourages our Grades 11 and 12 sisters
to strive to achieve excellence in the 2014
CSEC/CAPE examinations. We encourage
you to commence work on your Schoolbased assessments as soon as possible.
Remember to eat right and exercise.
We wish you every success as you establish
your career path to becoming what God
wants you to be to impact our nation and
the world.

 We are asking past students to partner with us in this programme by
contributing from J$50 .00 to
J$1000.00 monthly to continue this
initiative.

MGHS CLEAN-UP
DAY—31/8/13
Saturday, August 31 was designated clean-up
day.

Canteen/Tuck Shop
The PSA continues to contribute to the above programme and is grateful to our
partner LASCO for their monthly donation to this programme.
MGHS Bursaries
The Canteen Committee comprising of: chairman Pastor
Donovan Cole, Principal—Mrs. Carol Alexander, PSA President
Elizabeth Watson, Bursar Merline Lawrence and Board
Member Edward Forbes has completed its assignment. The
Tuck Shop has been retrofitted to accommodate new
manager, Mrs. Gayle and her assistant. We take this
opportunity to express our gratitude to retired supervisor Ms.
White for a job well done.
A centralized storage area has been created in close proximity
to the canteen. Our cashiers will be utilizing state of the art
cash registers to facilitate the smooth operations during the
lunch hour.
Twelve (12) students are recipients of bursaries for the 2013/14 school
year.
Funds for Quiz Team
US$382.00 received from past students in the Diaspora.

Refurbished Grade 10-1
The MGHS PSA refurbished Grade
10-1 classroom, presently the
‘Holding Area’ for students awaiting
pick-up by their parents/guardians.
The floor has been tiled and walls
painted.
