donut
What is unique about the
Laksheme donut?
Something that is very unique about the
Laksheme donut is that it is the very first
donut from Korea that is handmade and
steamed. This is unusual because, before
the Laksheme donut, everyone made fried
donuts which is the traditional way of
making donuts. To make the Laksheme
donut, they mix up flour and some natural
powder that gives color to the donut.
The difference between the
Laksheme donut & normal
How was the name Laksheme created?
Laksheme is the name of an Indian goddess. She is
known as one who gives power, energy, and joviality.
Also, the owner of Laksheme thought the word ‘Lak’ was
similar to luck and ‘Sheme’ close to ‘she loves me’.
When we combine the two words, it means ‘The place
that is full of luck and love’. The owner named it like this
to show the love towards their customers.
donuts.
Everyone will wonder about what is the
difference between a normal donut and the
Laksheme donut and why the Laksheme
donut is a healthy snack. Did you ever hear
about making a donut with steam instead of
using oil to fry it? Laksheme makes their
donuts in that way so that they have less
calories. Also, they don’t use chemical
preservatives which means the donuts can’t
keep for a long time but they are healthier for
our body. In addition to that, Laksheme uses
fruits and many kinds of organic toppings to
decorate their donuts instead of sugar.
Laksheme donuts are a healthy snack to have during your
break time. Laksheme is continuing to create new menus
for customers. Try it out for your health and its delicious
taste.

YOGA
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (SEHEE PARK)
Effects?
Breathing
Yoga will help you relax and get
you away from the hard life of
studying. The most basic skill is
breathing. You inhale through
your nose and exhale through
your mouth. Practicing breathing
helps you balance your breath
while doing the movements.
For sportsmen:
- Helps you from getting injured
terribly
- When injured, helps you to
recover faster
- Gives you more ability to move
- Relaxes tensed muscles
For students:
Helps you grow
Straightens your back
Helps you relax

Yoga Poses
Downward Facing Dog:
The most basic pose is the downward facing
dog pose. It stretches all parts of your body
while you are balancing yourself and staying
steady. In most yoga classes, they start with
downward facing dog after a little bit of
stretching.
1. Stand up
2. Stretch your arms and touch the ground
3. Put your legs back, and make an upside
down ‘V’ shape with your body.

Child’s Pose:
Child’s pose is a resting pose, as well as an ending pose.
1. You kneel down
2. Bend down forward
3. Stretch your arms forward
Tree Pose:
Tree pose is the basic balance pose. Yoga beginners try this first before
trying any harder ones.
1. Stand up
2. Pull one leg up
3. Rest that leg on the other thigh (if hard, rest the leg on the knee)
4. Put your hands up together above your head

CLASSICAL MUSIC
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / ANDY LEE
Do you like Classical music?
Classical Music
Classical music does not
appeal to children. I have studied
and played piano for 8 years,
mainly classical music, and it is
part of my life. However, most
others, including many students
at CI, don`t enjoy listening to
classical music. They think it is
very complicated or strange. Some
of them even think that the people
who listen to classical music are
odd. Children, especially teenagers
enjoy listening to pop songs or
rock and roll because they think
classical music is boring and is for
old people. Obviously, this is a
stereotype. Classical music is just
as interesting as the popular songs
that we here on the radio
everyday. So, I have decided to
introduce classical music to you.

Classical Music is a Part of Your Life
We can easily find classical music in our
everyday life. Many department stores or
restaurants play classical music.
Classical music is often used in famous
movies, as you will see in the following
paragraph. You are listening to classical
music even while you are calling your
friends!

CLASSICAL MUSIC (CONTINUED)
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / ANDY LEE
The music that plays while you are
calling your friend is Haydn`s
string quartet. Mozart’s “Piano
Concerto No. 21” has been used in
the movie “Elvira Madigan”. The
main theme of “2001 Space
Odyssey” is Also Sprach
Zarathustra, a symphonic poem
written by Richard Strauss.
Lacrimosa in Mozart`s Requiem
has been used in the movie
Amadeus. Mahler`s “Adagio” in
Symphony No. 5 was used in
“Death in Venice”. “Chariots of
Fire” used “Miserere” for their
music. Wagner’s “Ride of the
Valkyries” takes up an important
place in the famous movie
“Apocalypse Now.” “The Sorcerer's
Apprentice” used “The Sorcerer's
Apprentice”, a symphonic poem by
Dukas for background music.
Do you still think classical music is
not a part of your life?
Classical Music and Study
Pop or rock music is exciting and
you are excited when you are
listening to it. But sometimes pop
or rock music distracts you. If you
are listening to pop music while
you are studying, it might ruin
your concentration because it is too
energetic. On the other hand,
classical music will help you stay
calm and it will help you to
concentrate on your work.
photo- www.angodroid.com
Also, according to the Mozart Effect
Theory (which is very famous), babies
who listen to classical music have higher
IQs than others!
Try some classical music while you are
studying; it will help you!
Making Classical Music a Friend
If you listen to classical music without
understanding it, you will think that it is
very complicated and boring. However, if
you study and listen to it, it will be very
interesting. Reading books about
classical music will help you. Also,
booklets on CD have a specific
explanation of the piece and some of the
performances include lectures about the
music that they are playing.
Try some classical music now.
It will be a friend for life.

In our second year, we still had three sections: choir, strings and concert
band. These sections were lead by Ms.Swartz, Mr.Simo, and Mr.Gilliam. Also,
the orchestra was created and led by Mr.Simo. The performers were divided by
grades and the village school and middle school had separate concert dates.
The day of the concert was changed from Friday to Thursday evening.
Now, in our third year, most of the facts are the same, but now the
sections aren’t divided by grades but by levels and we can practice within our
block periods during the school day. This year’s concert went very well and we
performed 30 pieces in the concert with introductory strings, choir, band, and
orchestra. They were all wonderful, and the videos of their performance are now

THE QATARI EXPERIENCE
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (EMILY KIM)
Special thanks to Ka

IASL Conference Opening Ceremony
Traveling is a favorite hobby of many
people around the world. I’m sure many
of you have traveled to other places
around the world. But have any of you
ever traveled, without your parents, to a
foreign country, at the age of 13 or 14?
Well, that’s exactly what seventeen lucky
students from Grade 7 did. The students
were traveling with CI faculty members,
Ms. Kathy Clement and Mr. Craig Polin
to Qatar in order to present a research process that they created in their sixth
grade year at an IASL (International Association of School Librarians) conference.
While in Qatar, they took advantage of the week they had there and went
sightseeing and exploring. The group went on a car ride through the sand dunes,
shopped at a Souq (open-air marketplaces), and visited the American School of
Doha. The bunch also checked out the Author Extravaganza, 1001 Inventions
exhibition, Qatar Robotic Surgery Center, Katara Cultural Village, Qatar Islamic
Cultural Center, Islamic Art Museum, a dhow (a traditional Arabian boat), and a
soccer game between Qatar and Lebanon.

The drive through the sand dunes was
exhilarating and much like a roller coaster
without the weightless feeling. It was a rough ride
with bumps and jolts every few seconds and going
down the sides of the dunes made us worry for ourr
lives. But all in all, it was a lot of fun! A little
while into the ride, we stopped near the ocean,
and across the water we could see the Saudi
Arabian peninsula! Just a tip, if you ever take a

And last but not least, we spent some time at the American School of Doha
(international Pre-K to 12 school in Doha, Qatar). This school is more developed than
CI, having been founded in 1988. However, ASD still has many similarities with CI;
such as laptops, houses, exploratories, and great facilities. Funny enough, the first
thing we did was play dodgeball with some of the seventh grade students! After that,
we got a tour around the campus and spent some time in the classes. ASD has a couple
of neat challenges, like the Lure of the Labyrinth. It challenges students to beat an
online math game (You can check the game out here: http://labyrinth.thinkport.org/
www/ ).

The trip to Qatar was probably one of the best middle school experiences these students
had. They learned a lot about Qatari culture and had a lot of fun while at it! Hopefully,
the school will be able to arrange more of these trips and we will receive more of these
opportunities!

REAL PURPOSE OF GOING
TO QATAR
PAGE. (10)
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (KYUIN BAIK)
Presentations
CI teachers and students visited
Qatar in November. Unfortunately,
only the 7th grade got an
opportunity to to go to the
conference in Qatar. They started
to prepare for the presentation
when the first exploratory started
in September. They made their
presentation by themselves
without any teachers’ help. They
practiced until they felt
comfortable. They tried to do it
perfectly.
When the day to present
arrived, they visited the Qatar
Education Village to participate in
the conference. There were lots of
authors presenting. They finished
their presentation and were
satisfied with it. Many people who
saw their first presentation said
that they did really well. So, in the
second presentation the room was
full of people.
Thank you to the students who
represented Korea and Chadwick
International school! It was a great
opportunity for them. Other students in
CI may want more opportunities like this.
Q: How about the presentation in Qatar?
(I asked a student who did a presentation
in Qatar)
A: I think we did well and I want to do it
again if I have a chance.
Q: Why did you decide to go to Qatar and
do the presentation?
A: It was a chance to visit Qatar and do a
presentation in another country.

CI Book Club
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (ALICE YOON)
Did you know that in this school
there is a book club?
Every Wednesday during project
time, the people who applied for the
book club gather around and talk about
a particular book that Mrs. Catherine
has assigned us.
Most of the 6th grade girls and even
some boys in the 7th grade are in this
book club.
She assigns a book and they read
the same amount of the chapter
together. After reading, we discuss
about the book that we read.
We talk about how the character
would have felt, what main things
happened, and share some
experiences that are similar to the
experience that has happened in the
book.
We always talk about different things
and sometimes debate about it.
According to the survey done by the
book club members, they said the book
club helps them read better and
increases their English ability. Even if it
is just one hour once a week, it is great
to spend a little time reading and
sharing with others.

8 POETRY
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (BRANDON PARK)
In this section of the magazine, I would like to present my six favorite grade 8 poems which were
written by Sarah, Brandon, Yusuf, Leo, Eunah, and Aaron. Grade 8 was studying poetry in the first
semester in Ms. Erin’s English class. We learned about the types of poems. For example, we
practiced writing lyrics and free verse poems. For literary devices, we learned about line breaks,
rhyme, rhythm, personification and many others. The topics of the poems in this magazine include
nature, love, dreams, animals, and a couple of mysteries. Grade 8 really enjoyed learning poetry and
you guys should start writing poetry, too.

THE SWEATY TRAIL
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (SARAH CHOI)
When I couldn’t see the top of mountain
I thought of quitting
When I saw the cloud hung over the top
I took my first step
Fireflies glow
like stars
Fireflies shine
my way
I climb a mountain
my dream is up there
I walk my way
my hope is up there
When I see the rays from east
I have no more steps to take
When I turn to look behind
I smile at the sweaty trail
Do you hear the animal whispering?
To cheer me up
Do you hear the bird singing?
To make me happy
Big stones on the way
something I must pass by
Cobble stones stabbing my feet,
but I don’t stop until I reach the top.
Do you hear the murmur
of a stream laughing in the sun?
Makes my step faster
Makes my feet lighter
Sun hides
as darkness crawls in
Warmth leaves
as chillness embraces
I hardly see the trail ahead
Darkness makes my eyes blind
Crickets chirp to say goodnight
Fear makes my feet to freeze

IT’S YOU
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (BRANDON PARK)
you’re still alone,
you’re asking me,
and I just smile.
I am in love,
I have someone who I love.
you are feeling pathetic for me
If there is a great person,
you’ll ask me to meet her
but you don’t know,
for me,
I have a great lovely person who I love.
She is so precious, I hid her in my mind.
I am the only one who can see that person.
She is only in my mind.
I would like to keep her on my lips forever.
Only the tears of mine know
who that person is.
I don’t want her,
I don’t feel greed for her,
I just want to love her.
Well....
do you know I have someone I love?
one day,
I’ll let you know that person is
you.
You might think
I am just a friend,
You might think
I am not the best one
to be a man for you...
But you are the best to be my partner
the rest of my life
I don’t want her,
I don’t feel greed for her,
I just want to love her.
Well....
do you know I have someone I love?
one day,
I’ll let you know that person is
you.
Don’t my tears
tell you that I have a person who I love
and that person is you.
I’ll let you know one day,
it was hard and painful not to tell you,
but
I was afraid of it.
I was afraid of the future.
the Future of one day, I’ll hurt your feeling
I am so afraid of you getting hurt by me.
But still,
I have a great lovely person who I love.
She is so precious, I hid her in my mind.
I am the only one who can see that person.
She is only in my mind.
I would like to keep her on my lips forever.
Only the tears of mine know
who that person is.

A HORRIBLE DREAM
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (YUSUF FARAG)
It was this one day,
on my bed I lay.
As I heard a cry,
and thought I might die.
Not far from me,
I could just see.
A huge ferocious creature,
with strange reptilian texture.
I grabbed my big pillow,
and jumped out the window.
As I prepared for landing,
there it was standing.
With its massive sharp claws,
and its super colossal jaws.
I prayed with all my might,
at such a gruesome sight.
My pillow hit the creature’s jaws,
as it tried to catch me with its claws.
I fled out of sight,
with my body full of fright.
It then sniffed me out,
like a bear sniffing trout.
I tried to escape,
but was in bad shape.
I thought this was the end,
as its claws penned.
It tossed me upward,
as its jaws awaited downward.
Reminding me of a huge dark sack.
Everything went black.
I thought I was dead,
as tears started to shed.
All the things I never achieved,
as I thought of why I leaved.
There was nothing up ahead.
Then I awoke on my bed.

MR. LONG LIVE LION
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (LEO KOO)
This is a story of Mr.Long Live Lion
The bravest and the strongest guardian
He ruled his jungle for 49 years
Protecting his jungle with no fear
Once he decided to stand off his throne
and choose the next king on his own
All animals who heard the news
Came up to the palace of Penue
Strong beasts all kneeled before the Lion
In the greatest manner till he had risen
The mighty predator Tin Tiger
What would you be good at I wonder
Questioned Mr.Long Live Lion
Strength to protect our tower for hours
Answered Tin Tiger with great power
Show the best a bear could do Brian
Asked Mr.Long Live Lion
Brian the Bear growled long and loud
and cut a log in half and bowed
Next came Sly Snake the biggest liar
who once left a family of squirrel in fire
Slithering and sliding on the floor
He bit the tail of a wild old boar
After examining all others
Saw that one was the same as another
Mr. Long Live Lion sighed and said in a calm
tone
Being the strongest doesn’t mean you’re the
best one
I guess you have one more task
You will have to answer what I ask
What would be the element
to make food the most pleasant
I will give you just one day
And one of you should make me gay
The one who has the best reason
For your answer will be chosen
As the next king of the jungle
and who would make all chuckle
The sun rose again and they all gathered
In the Palace Penue with their ideas better
Mr. Long Live Lion stood in front of the lot
and told them, Let’s see what you’ve got
Some said honey and some said sugar
Some said veggie and some said raw
Then came Tin Tiger who said the salt
Makes the food the best result
Mr. Long Live Lion beamed ears to ears
I know who’d lead the jungle for years
Tin Tiger, I assign you as
the King of Jungle Kamez
Why, asked all the others
Why salt and not others?
Ha, laughed Mr.Long Live Lion
Why not try figuring it out on your own?

AMAZING BOX
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (EUNAH JUNG)
Wow! It’s the Amazing Box
That everyone will love
That everyone will be jealous with.
Babies lost their toy
Students lost their joy
Later will again enjoy.
When the Amazing Box wakes up,
A magic will happen.
People’s eyes and ears will be super sensitive.
Wait, what’s the Amazing Box?
Is there a fox inside the box?
Does is smell like a stinky sock?
Babies will stop crying
Students will leave their homework
The whole family will sit on a sofa
It has everything inside
showing a bunch of actions,
It’s the television.
You can travel anywhere
You can meet pop stars anytime
You can get educated about anything
People will cry with tears falling,
People will laugh with eyes popping,
People will cheer with sweat sparkling.
The Amazing Box shows everything around the
world,
That helps people to communicate
That makes people know what’s happening
The Amazing Box is sometimes a maze,
the resolution is always amaze,
That takes away all the gaze.
It’s like being in a rocket
That you would ride in the daytime
but soon stops at dark.
The Amazing Box is a human.
When the day is dark
It needs to go to sleep.
When the Amazing Box sleeps,
Babies cry again,
Students go back and finishes homework.

TIME
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (AARON CHUNG)
“It” is the easiest thing to be stolen.
There are some popular thieves that are
proficient at stealing “it”.
They are computer games, TV, internet,
messenger, and sleep.
The thieves look friendly and easy to get
along with them.
Once you meet them, they will steal “it” in
the twinkle of an eye.
It’s easy to get stolen, but impossible to
take back the stolen ones.
You always get the new one every single
second.
You also get “it” stolen by a thief every
single second.
You might not know the importance of “it”
until when you are in lack of “it”.
Oops! I have been laying on my bed for a
little while and I already got “it” stolen.
Sometimes “it” is the hardest thing to skip
and get stolen.
There are examples when “it” is extremely
hard to skip and get stolen.
They are the last 10 minutes of a class,
and the period when I’m writing a long
poem.
In the last 10 minutes of a class, “it”
becomes the slowest thing and the
heaviest thing.
You become unable to hear and
understand what the others are saying.
You can’t sit still on a chair.
You get full of excitement, but “it” is so hard
to lose even on purpose.
When you’re writing a long poem, I don’t
know what to fill up the page with.
There is too much to write, but too few
things to write about.
On the half way, you sigh that you need to
fill up the other half of the page.
Think and Think until I get any ideas, but
“it” is heavy and firm.
So heavy and firm that “it” doesn’t move.
Oh my god! It felt like writing this poem for
years, but it’s not even an hour passed.
“It” is a treasure to everyone’s life that it
can’t be exchanged with any other things.
You can’t do anything without “it”.
You can’t go to school, go to work, or even
sleep.
It’s very important to use “it” wisely and
save “it”.
It’s very easy to waste “it” or misuse “it”.
It’s always already gone when I try to catch
“it”.
So, what is “it”?
It’s the fastest thing in the world.
But also the slowest thing in the world?
The most expensive thing that nobody can
buy?
“It” is time.
Always remember.
Not to waste any time in your life.
Because, you don’t always have an
abundance of time.
Sometimes you don’t have any time when
you really need it.
You will regret a lot on the last day of your
life if you didn’t use “it” properly.
Use your time enjoying your life.
Don’t waste any of “it”
Remember, “it” is not always there with
you.

LES MISERABLES
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (GLORIA NOH)
The story of Les Miserables
The story of Les Miserables is that there was a
man named Jean Val Jean. He was in a prison
because he stole a piece of bread. The cop who
looked over the prison was a man named Javert.
He let Val Jean out of prison but he had to go to
the police every month and people hated him.
However, there was a priest that helped him,
and let him have the silver plates and silver
candle stick because he knew Val Jean wasn’t
bad. Jean Val Jean gets touched and decides to
live in a nicer way. A few years later, Val Jean
uses a name called Madelain and he becomes
the mayor of the town and he owns his own
factory. Everything starts after an old man
called Phoshilleban gets crushed by his wagon
but gets saved by Madelain who shows the
evidence that he is Jean Val Jean. Because of
that, a woman called Fantine who is just a
worker in the factory Madelain owns got sacked
by her superior. She earned money by selling
her hair and teeth but it wasn’t enough to save
her daughter, Cosset, who is in the hands of a
hotel owner who asks for money all day long.
Jean Val Jean soon discovers the truth and
promises her and her daughter’s protection
from him. However, Jean Val Jean hears that a
man has been caught and said that the innocent
man is Jean Val Jean. He was wondering if he
should save the man or just let him suffer. He
was about to let the man stay in his place, when
he remembered about the priest. He soon
changed his mind and went to save the man, and
ran off as fast as he could. He went to Fantine,
who was in a nunnery, sick and weak. She soon
dies telling Jean Val Jean where to go to find her
daughter and get her from Teranadie and his
wife who are the owners of the hotel said above.
However, Javert will never let that happen
because he still thinks Jean Val Jean is a
prisoner and a bad person, so he still was
searching for Jean Val Jean. A few years later,
Cosset grew up into a lady, and a man named
Marius falls in love with her. A woman called
Eponine loves Marius, but decides to help
Marius and Cosset. Actually, Marius is one of the
men that decided to do the French Revolution.
During that time, Jean Val Jean finds out that
Cosset and Marius are in love, and saves Marius
when the revolution was failing. He gets caught
by Javert but he let Jean Val Jean go because he
saved his life during the revolution when others
were trying to kill him for acting as a spy. In
conclusion, the revolution failed, he was sad
because he lost all his friends but soon recovers
and gets married with Cosset, not telling her the
secret of Jean Val Jean because Jean Val Jean
thought that he will disgrace her with his past.
Teranadie comes to the wedding and tells
Marius who saved him, and it was Jean Val
Jean, of course, so he goes to find Jean Val Jean.
When they arrived, Jean Val Jean was gone by
then.

Hugh Jackman
“Who am I”
Are you familiar with this
phrase? If so, you might know the
movie called Les Miserables, which
was a great hit. Then, have you
watched the movie X-Men? I am sure
you have watched one of them and I
am also sure that you will know Hugh
Jackman.
Hugh Jackman was born in
Sydney on October 12, 1968 and was
raised as the youngest of five
children. After graduating from the
Western Australia Academy of
Performing Arts, where he studied
drama, he was offered a job on a
popular TV show called Corelli.
Through this, he earned recognition
for his hard work and productions
like Beauty and the Beast, Sunset
Boulevard, and lots more. In 1999, he
was awarded a Best Actor nomination
from the Australian Film Institute. He
also got hired in Wolverine later and
starred in a movie called X-Men,
which you will already know. He was
in this film with Ian McKellen, Patrick
Stewart, Anna Paquin, James
Marsden, and Halle Berry. In 2001,
he was in a film called

Swordfish, which also was a great hit and in
2003, there was the return of the X-Men.
Now, he is also rising up as the main
character of Les Miserables with Anne
Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried,
Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen,
Eddie Redmayne, and lots of other popular
movie stars. Since he was in many popular
movies, I believe that we all hope that Hugh
Jackman will continue with his marvelous
action and words.

TOP 10 GAMES OF 2012
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (JUNSUNG HWANG AND DANNY YANG)
During the months of 2012, the people who have
played games or who have seen the games played
have rated the games.
10. Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2 may have odd graphics that look like
cartoons, but the gameplay is terrific.
“Borderlands 2 returns players to the outback world of
Pandora, where four (and inevitably) new characters
must attempt to free the planet from the clutches of
Hyperion and restore the planet with the aid of the
Guardian Angel.” (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
9. Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 has amazing graphics with the free roam
system and the world you travel in is amazingly big.
The story line for the Far Cry series has been creative
and complicated.
“Players will once again be free to roam an open
environment—as opposed to tight corridors—to deal
with challenges as they please. The new game sees the
addition of a new stealth mechanic, a leveling and skill
system, and the ability to perform
takedowns.” (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
7.XCOM
The XCOM game features an enemy within the United States.
8. Dust 514
“The Graphics are great for even the trailer but, the
game was meant for the multiplayer not the Campaign
but even looking at the trailer makes the game look
awesome.
“We've not seen too many massively multiplayer firstperson shooters throughout the years. There's been
Planetside, and that's about as far as the list goes. CCP,
the creators of EVE Online, are planning to add a new
game to that list with the development of the consolebased Dust 514.” (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
“While Firaxis develops a turn-based strategy title (titled XCOM: Enemy Unknown) that's true to the original series, the
developers at 2KMarin have taken it upon themselves to reimagine the game as a strategy-based FPS set in the 1950s
after the Second World War.
Rather than having to face Grays (or Sectoids, as they're
known in the series) and a variety of strange, but frightening
aliens, players will have to deal with an odd substance not
unlike the black oil in the X-Files TV series.” (Cheong,
Gameranx.com)

TOP 10 GAMES OF 2012 (CONTINUED)
CHADWICK INTERNATIONAL 2013 / (JUNSUNG HWANG AND DANNY YANG)
6. Syndicate
Syndicate’s trailer showed that the way people
played was fantastic with features of taking down
their enemy without the power to touch them.
The game also features the power of x-ray vision.
“Syndicate is a reboot of another classic
franchise. Originally developed by Bullfrog as a
tactical squad-based game, the Syndicate reboot
is in development at Starbreeze Studios (creators
of the excellent Riddick games) as a first-person
shooter heavily immersed in cyberpunk
aesthetics.” (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
5. Dishonored
Dishonored allows you to assassinate with a
knife, crossbow, or a pistol. The game can allow
you to use dual wield. Dishonored may have the
graphics of the Team Fortress 2 but, the storyline
is almost as good as the Halo series.
“Players take on the role of Corvo, a disgraced
master-at-arms, spy, and possessor of
supernatural abilities. Played in the first person,
the game places emphasis on stealth as well as
combat, and Corvo is free to roam the city of
Dunwall and its surrounding locations.” (Cheong,
Gameranx.com)
4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Many of you may be surprised that Call of Duty
Black Ops 2 is being rated #4 but that is because
of Treyarch changing everything in Multiplayer,
Zombies, and Campaign.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the sequel to
Treyarch's first Black Ops game. Black Ops 2 is
the first game in the Call of Duty franchise to
feature a completely futuristic setting, with
weapons and technology that remain theoretical
at this point in time. Also diverging from the
previous Call of Duty games is the addition of a
branching storyline and a narrative that takes into
account the decisions you make throughout the
game. (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
3. Bioshock: Infinite
Bioshock has been a great series with the
storyline featuring many crazy parts. Many
people have loved the Bioshock series more than
the Call of Duty franchise.
“Bioshock Infinite takes place in the skies in the
flying city of Columbia, far from the depths of
Rapture. In the game, players take on the role of a
former Pinkerton agent and gun-for-hire who
lends his services to the rescue of a certain
Elizabeth, a mysterious young woman with the
ability to alter reality.” (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
2. Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) made a great Counter
Strike franchise with all the multiplayer modes and the graphics!
The game was overrated that the people decided to bring the game
to PS3 and XBOX360.
“CS:GO offers updated versions of classic maps in addition to new
gameplay modes, weapons, characters, and maps. Players can now
team up or do battle against each other with a newly developed
matchmaking mode that pits players of similar skill level against
each other, so newcomers won't be eaten alive by pros. CS:GO will
be released on the PC, Mac, and both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation
3 consoles.” (Cheong, Gameranx.com)
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
NUMBER ONE IS . . .
1. Halo 4
Halo 4 was boosted up with fame by Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2,
Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach.
“The war with the Covenant is over and the Master Chief must find
his way back to known space after being launched into deep space
to counter an all new threat—one that happens to be an 'ancient evil'
in the game's terms. Presumably, Master Chief is going to have to
deal with the Precursors, a powerful alien race that ruled the galaxy
before the Forerunners developed the Halo Array.” (Cheong,
Gameranx.com)
