Dear Member of the ECC Community,
The image most often associated with success in higher education is that of the graduate dressed in cap and gown
receiving a diploma upon completion of a degree or certificate. While that visual is compelling, it is not the only
illustration of success at Elgin Community College.
As you will read in this year’s Report to the Community, there are many ways to define accomplishment and
achievement in Community College District 509. ECC’s mission is “to improve people’s lives through learning,”
and the people whose lives we improve make a difference in our community and elsewhere every day—from
healthcare professionals to small business owners, from student volunteers to scholarship donors. I continue to be
amazed by their contributions to our district.
I hope this report finds you well as you realize your own definition of success, whether it be through your education,
your career or your service to others. Always remember that ECC is your community college. I welcome your thoughts,

Cassie Dumoulin SCORES ON AND OFF THE COURT
Cassandra Dumoulin had a campaign like no other during her
first year at Elgin Community College.
among other hoop greats in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in
Knoxville, Tenn.
Over the course of a season, the Hampshire student was
the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II’s
fourth-leading scorer and the Elgin Community College
Women’s Basketball Team’s first ever All-America studentathlete. Her scoring accomplishments sent her jersey to hang
Off the court, Dumoulin earned a 4.0 grade-point average. While she
could have gone to school anywhere, ECC was always part of her plan,
as her grandmother once taught here and her parents were students.
She credits her coach, Jerry McLaughlin, for keeping her focused in the
classroom as well as on the court.

Second consecutive ECC instructor wins
ICCTA award
Crystal Kerwin, adjunct Elgin Community College office administration technology
instructor, was the 2011 recipient of the Illinois Community College Trustee
Association’s Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member Award. Kerwin is the second
ECC faculty member to win this ICCTA award, which was created in 2010 to
recognize the high achievements of Illinois’ community college adjunct instructors.
ECC student newspaper earns recognition in
national conference
The Observer, Elgin Community College’s student-run biweekly newspaper,
received seventh place among similar community college newspapers
nationwide in the Best of Show for two-year broadsheet category from the
Associated Collegiate Press. The award was for the newspaper’s Oct. 10, 2011
issue that covered ECC being ranked as a military-friendly school and included
a special section about National Coming Out Day.
“Their hard work has earned them plenty of statewide awards, but this honor
shows where we stand nationally,” says Lori Clark, The Observer’s faculty advisor.
National organization honors faculty
The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD)
honored Elgin Community College faculty members Lori Clark, Nicole
Scherger, Leticia Starkov, Katherine Storey, and Laurel Vietzen for their
teaching and leadership excellence. NISOD is an organization dedicated to
the professional development of faculty, administrators, and staff, and to the
continued improvement of teaching and learning, with the ultimate goal of
student success.
YWCA honors ECC dean
Mary Hatch, dean of liberal, visual and performing arts, was recognized as a
leader and a role model for women by the YWCA Elgin last spring. The organization’s Margaret Hillis Award for the Arts recognizes Hatch’s contributions to the
arts, particularly her work in connecting the college’s arts and culture offerings
with its community.
ECC Phi Theta Kappa Chapter earns honors
at convention
Elgin Community College’s Rho Kappa Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa
International Honor Society received awards for Distinguished Chapter Officer
Team, Honors in Action, Honors in Action Topic Area, and Distinguished
Chapter during the society’s 2011 International Convention last spring. More
than 400 chapters competed for awards.
Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education
with more than two million members and 1,250 chapters on college
campuses worldwide.
Culinary Arts and Hospitality Students Best
the Competition
Elgin Community College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality students were cooking
in 2011, winning first place and $500 for their “Samurai Burger” during the
Third Annual Summer BBQ and Burger Throwdown in June hosted by American
Culinary Federation Windy City Professional Culinarians. ECC bested teams
from nine Chicago-area culinary programs in that competition.
In November, Bernard LoMonaco of Bartlett edged out five finalists during
the ECC-Grand Victoria Casino Burger Competition, with his dessert-themed
Flourless Chocolate Burger. LoMonaco won a $2,000 scholarship and his burger
being featured for a year at the casino’s gourmet Prime BurgerHouse restaurant.

ECC Top 50 in One-Year Certificates
When it comes to granting one-year certificates, Elgin
Community College ranks in the top 50 in the nation and
third statewide, according to a June 2011 special report by
Community College Week.
“This new ranking demonstrates the growing need in our
community for workforce training,” says ECC President David
Sam, PhD, JD. “The fact that we are currently expanding and
enhancing our facilities to meet today’s educational demands
means we will be prepared to help even more students succeed.”
Community College Week ranked the college 50th with 1,192
one-year certificates awarded in 2010. The publication also ranked
ECC 43rd in the nation in granting associate degrees in multi/
interdisciplinary studies.
The college’s degree gains continue to align with “Skills for America’s
Future,” President Obama’s initiative to help five million more
community college students earn certificates by 2020. The number of
ECC students earning certificates or degrees in the last four years has
increased by 41 percent.

ECC extends educational opportunities to
China and India
Elgin Community College continued efforts to offer students educational
opportunities in China, as eight faculty members and three administrators
visited their counterparts at Southwest University of China and Chongqing
Technology and Business University last summer to share perspectives on
education, culture, and best practices.
The trip, part of the college’s Asian Language and Area Studies Program,
was largely funded with an $88,834 grant from the United States
Department of Education’s Title VI grant programs. The program allows
students from ECC to study for a semester at Chongqing Technology
and Business University. Next, ECC will explore similar educational
opportunities in India.
ECC creates a global classroom of opportunity
Elgin Community College’s study-abroad opportunities continued to allow students
to make the world their classroom. Austria, China, Ireland, and Spain are just a few
locations where students can immerse themselves in another language, gain new
life experiences, or earn college credit by taking similar ECC courses.
There are 13 study-abroad programs today, and the college’s International
Student Services Office is developing new programs in France, India, and
Puerto Rico. The college also is a member of the College Consortium
for International Studies and the Community Colleges for International
Development, which allows students to participate in additional programs.
ECC MOCK TRIAL TEAM CONTINUES SUCCESS AT YALE
The Elgin Community College Mock Trial Team continued to impress
competitors after a 5-6-1 finish during a December tournament held at Yale
University in Connecticut—its third appearance at an Ivy League contest. The
team was the tournament’s only community college participant, and its record
was better than six institutions, including competitors Yale and the University
of Pennsylvania.
A week before the event in November, the team won first place at its inaugural
Golden Gavel Mock Trial Invitational held at the college—likely the first ever
event hosted by a community college. About 40 practicing attorneys and six
sitting judges from throughout Kane County headed up each of the four trials
that made up the two-day ECC competition.
The ECC team is one of only six known active community college mock trial
teams in the United States that competes nationally. The college’s paralegal
students also produce the Spartan Law Review, which is believed to be the
only publication of its kind by a community college.
ECC Recognized for Online Presence for
Student Services
Elgin Community College received the Desire2EXCEL Collaboration Award
from Desire2Learn Inc. in July for a project to streamline its online presence for
student services. The college uses the platform to house a number of student
services—such as library services and online tutoring—under one virtual roof.
Canadian-based Desire2Learn Inc. provides enterprise eLearning solutions that
enable institutions to create teaching and learning environments. In presenting
the honor, award committee members praised the college’s commitment to
students and making its services accessible.

ECC alliance celebrates a milestone of preparing college-ready students
In the five years of the Alliance for College Readiness’ existence,
the number of the district’s high school graduates who were
completely college-ready increased from less than 24 percent to
32 percent. Also, 70 percent of high school graduates enrolled
in the alliance’s Summer Bridge Program raised their abilities in
critical areas so they could begin taking college credit classes.
“Being ready for college helps these students avoid
developmental coursework and the tuition and fees associated
with that,” says Julie Schaid, PhD, Elgin Community College’s
interim dean of college transitions and developmental education.
A University of Illinois at Chicago professor was impressed
to see elementary, middle school, and high school teachers
collaborating with Elgin Community College administrators and
faculty to develop ways to help students succeed in science. A
concept where college faculty work with K-12 faculty, like ECC’s
Alliance for College Readiness, is not common, James Pellegrino,
PhD, told more than 100 area science educators and alliance
members during an alliance meeting in December.
Pellegrino’s appearance was hosted by the alliance’s Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Faculty Team. He said
it is critical for educators of all levels to address this issue to avoid
students taking developmental classes.
“Hopefully through this partnership you will help spur that
dialogue along,” Pellegrino said.
Illinois Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon was also impressed with the college’s
alliance. During a visit to ECC, Simon remarked that though she
had heard of similar programs in Illinois, there were none that
compared with ECC’s ability to prepare students in three weeks.
“The Summer Bridge Program needs to be shouted from the
mountaintops,” said Simon.
The alliance is composed of more than 250 teachers, other
educational leaders, and community members from ECC and
public school districts U-46, 300, 301, and 303. Since 2006, the
alliance has conducted professional development workshops
for K-12 faculty, and data sharing between K-12 and higher
education that helps inform high school curriculum decisions.
It also has produced two brochures for parents of middle and
high school students—available in English and Spanish—that
provide valuable information about what parents can do to
help prepare their child for college.

Dressing for success: Record attendance at
spring 2011 commencement
Several semesters of record enrollment at Elgin Community College resulted in
the largest group of students in the college’s 62-year history to participate in
commencement last spring. Of the 1,070 candidates for degrees or certificates,
332 donned caps and gowns to celebrate their achievement and finish what they
started at ECC.
ECC consistent in Achieving the Dream
Elgin Community College received high praise from Achieving the Dream
representatives during a recent site visit. Representatives, or coaches, from Achieving
the Dream visit schools on a biannual basis to assess an institution’s progress in
implementing strategies critical to improving student success.
The coaches spent two days on campus working with the college’s AtD leaders and
teams reviewing presentations and discussing progress on key areas identified by ECC:
academic advising, college success courses, developmental education, and cultural
competency and relationships. The college has participated in the national initiative
since 2010.
ECC is a Military Friendly School
Elgin Community College was named a Military Friendly School for 2012 by
G.I. Jobs magazine, one of the premier publications for people transitioning from
military to civilian life. The magazine ranked the college in the top 20 percent
of the more than 8,000 colleges and universities nationwide it surveyed for the
designation.
ECC provides a number of resources for veterans, like Chris Doss (pictured right),
such as ensuring support for those who are disabled, counseling assistance, and
financial aid and educational benefits assistance. A student organization, Military
Branches United, acts as a support system for veterans and their families as they
return to school and transition to college and civilian life.
ECC graduates first basic firefighter training class
Elgin Community College’s Department of Continuing Education graduated its first
class for the Basic Firefighter Training Program in May, bringing 15 students a step
closer to becoming certified firefighters. Students received nearly 250 hours of training
that included both classroom and practical skills like ladder operation, search and
rescue, hose operations, roof ventilation, and forcible entry.
Participants must be active members of a fire department, as required by Illinois code.
The 15 graduates, which include a woman and a 48-year-old man, are members of fire
departments in South Elgin, Hampshire, and Kirkland. All graduates must now seek
certification by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office and approval from their respective
fire chiefs.
ECC HOSTS CRITICAL JOB SKILLS WORKSHOPS FOR
UNEMPLOYED AND UNDEREMPLOYED
Elgin Community College hosted a series of free Key Train Open Lab Workshops
last spring to prepare unemployed and underemployed Community College
District 509 citizens for the WorkKeys assessment, the nation’s leading job-skills
assessment system. Those who satisfactorily complete the assessment receive a
National Career Readiness Certificate that provides employers with concrete proof
of a job applicant’s skill level.
ECC covered the expense of the assessment for district residents as part of the
1,000 Workers Skills Initiative—a community effort to prepare the workforce with
the right skills to meet the demands of today’s challenging economy.

ECC Pursuing LEED Silver certification for two master plan projects
ECC is pursuing LEED Silver certification for the Renner
Academic Library and Learning Resources and the Health and
Life Sciences Building. LEED, which stands for Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design, was developed by the U.S.
Green Building Council in 2000 as a certification system to
recognize green and sustainable building practices.
The ECC projects have energy-efficient boilers and chillers,
increased building automation, and computer-controlled
lighting systems. According to the USGBC’s website, “LEED
provides building owners and operators with a framework
for identifying and implementing practical and measurable
green-building design, construction, operations, and
maintenance solutions.” There are four ratings: Certified,
Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Area builders receive green education
with ECC-Kane partnership
A partnership between Elgin Community College, Kane County, and
the U.S. Department of Energy trained 30 contractors on construction
techniques that increase the energy efficiency of new homes and
reduce reliance on tools and equipment powered by fossil fuels.
The first 20 contractors doing business in Kane County were trained in
fall 2010 and spring 2011. The final group began last fall. All will earn
a certificate in renewable energy construction, which is part of the
college’s Energy Management Program.
ECC officer earns top policing honor
Elgin Community College Police Officer Victor Valdez was recognized by his
peers for two major awards in 2011. He was chosen out of 13 nominees from
10 police departments as the 2011 Kane County Police Officer of the Year last
spring. In November, Valdez was awarded the Lifesaving Medal from the Elgin
Fire Department.
Valdez received both honors for his actions in saving a child who was choking
in Elgin in March 2010. Valdez, who was on his way to work, noticed that the
people in the car next to him appeared to be in distress. He stopped to assist
the driver and her passenger, ultimately using the Heimlich maneuver to save
the life of the 4-year-old boy.
ECC sponsors GreenTown speaker and
student seminar
Elgin Community College sponsored a keynote address by
Richard Jackson, MD, MPH, former head of the National Center
for Environmental Health at the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, during an event held last spring by the city of Elgin.
The event, GreenTown: The Future of Community, promoted the
creation of healthy, sustainable communities.
Jackson also conducted a seminar and informal lunch for high
school and college students to discuss in greater detail the
central topic of his address: how human health and the health of
the environment are intertwined.

RECORD FINANCIAL AID TOTALS HELP OFFSET MINOR TUITION INCREASE
Despite the increase of Elgin Community College tuition from
$91 to $99 per credit hour, the college continued to remain
an affordable option for students thanks to record amounts of
financial aid awarded.
ECC connected students to more than $21 million in financial
aid, grants, scholarships, and sponsorships in the last fiscal year.
Additionally, students choosing ECC for their first two years of
college can save on average approximately $15,000 over a four-
year public university and on average approximately $40,000
over a four-year private university.
ECC’s decision to hold its tuition steady at $91 per credit
hour for four years remains a remarkable achievement. It was
originally thought that tuition could be frozen for one year,
but the board of trustees was able to maintain the rate longer
through sound fiscal management.

National finance organization recognizes ECC
Elgin Community College’s budget practices have been recognized by the
Government Finance Officers Association for a second consecutive year with
the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The award reflects the commitment by the college and its staff to meeting the highest principles of
governmental budgeting.
The college—also an eight-time recipient of the association’s Certificate for
Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting—qualified for the Distinguished
Budget Presentation Award by satisfying several nationally recognized guidelines
for effective budget presentation, such as how the college’s fiscal year 2011
budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a
communications device.
ECC employees keep giving
Elgin Community College employees spared no expense when it came to
investing in students, again breaking records when pledging or donating to
the ECC Foundation. More than $57,000 was raised through the foundation’s
annual employee giving campaign in 2011, $7,000 more than in 2010.
Funds raised through the foundation go to ECC scholarships and the annual
fund, which provides support for college programs and student trips. The ECC
Foundation has extended more than $200,000 in scholarship awards to more
than 190 students to date.
John G. Dalton joins board of trustees
Elgin attorney John G. Dalton, JD, is the newest member of the
Community College District 509 Board of Trustees. Dalton, who joined
the board in May 2011, says he is pleased that the college is a resource
for people of all ages and backgrounds.
“ECC is affordable, and the quality of the instructional programs is
outstanding,” he says. “It’s great to be a part of a place that people can
count on.”
Trustee Clare Ollayos Elected to
National Board
Community College District 509 Trustee Clare Ollayos was unanimously elected
to the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Board of Directors,
where she will help make decisions that affect more than 1,200 colleges and
over 11 million students nationwide.
Ollayos, an Elgin-based chiropractic physician, has been an ACCT voting
delegate several times, as well as one of three Illinois State co-chairs for ACCT.
She has been an ECC trustee since 1995.

ECC students have a front row to history
A group of Elgin Community College students experienced
a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see history unfold by
attending the dedication ceremony for the Martin Luther King
Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C., in October.
Students from several organizations—the Black Student
Association, Eagerly Making Bridges Regarding All Cultural
Experiences (EMBRACE), Workforce Transistions, and TRiO—
made the 11-hour trip to the nation’s capital for the event.
In addition to participating in the ceremony, which included
a speech by President Barack Obama, students also toured
Georgetown University and Howard University.
“Martin Luther King Jr. is a big part of history in the AfricanAmerican culture, so we definitely wanted to make it a priority to
visit the memorial,” says Bryan Lantz, Black Student Association
president. “Being there at the same time as the dedication was a
great experience.”

Lasting Impact Awards Given to Outstanding
District 509 Citizens
The 2011 Lasting Impact Awards recognized nine Community College
District 509 citizens for their outstanding leadership and service. The awards,
established by ECC President David Sam in 2010, acknowledge community
members for their positive impact on the ECC district.
The honorees (pictured left to right, top to bottom) were:

Humanities Center brings the world to ECC’s doorstep
Elgin Community College continued to screen the best in foreign cinema during its annual
Humanities Center’s International Film Series. The series, which features several films each
fall and spring semester, is part of the center’s effort to foster cross-cultural understanding
through cinema.
In April, the series featured the best in French cinema during the The Tournées Film
Festival. The festival, which is held nationwide, is supported by the French American Cultural
Exchange, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the French Ministry of Culture,
and other organizations.
The ECC Humanities Center also invites guests like Bobby González as part of its Speakers
Series, which navigates today’s intellectual landscape by bringing a diverse roster of
renowned speakers to the ECC community.
New Welding Program Sparks Employment
Opportunities
A new program launched by Elgin Community College last spring helped English
as a second language (ESL) students start successful careers in the high-demand
field of welding. The ESL Welding Occupational Bridge Program, developed by
the college in collaboration with the Kane County Department of Employment
and Education, is federally funded through the Workforce Investment Act.
As part of the program, students received dedicated instruction to improve their
English skills, in addition to enrollment in a year-long welding program that
trained them for certification as a welder. The program also assisted students by
coaching them on job-search skills such as résumé writing and interviewing.

ECC keeps legislators, community in the know
Elgin Community College makes every effort to inform its
community about news and developments that are important
to them. The college regularly holds meetings with local, state,
and federal legislators to brief them on the issues important to
the college.

During the year, the college held a meeting with Illinois Lt.
Gov. Sheila Simon, who visited ECC as part of her statewide
tour of all 48 community colleges. The college also met with
U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren, U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo, U.S. Rep. Joe
Walsh, State Sen. Michael Noland, State Rep. Keith Farnham,
State Rep. Randy Ramey, Illinois Deputy Chief of Staff for
Education Julie Smith, Hanover Park Mayor Rod Craig, Elgin
Mayor David Kaptain, Burlington Village President Kathy Loos,
Carpentersville Village President Ed Ritter, and Gilberts Village
President Rick Zirk. The Community College District 509 Board
of Trustees traveled to Springfield and Washington, D.C., to meet
with its elected officials to ensure ECC and community colleges
are considered when the officials make tough policy decisions
and build budgets.
In addition to elected officials, the college reached out to area
municipalities and other organizations to inform them about
ECC’s increased training opportunities through the new Health
and Life Sciences Building, ECC’s record of financial responsibility
and excellence, and other developments and issues.

ECC raises more than $400,000 for
cancer research
When it comes to supporting cancer research each summer, Elgin Community
College employees, students, and community members are ready to walk. That
support for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life continued in the event’s
ninth consecutive year this June, raising $54,700. More than $400,000 has been
raised to date for cancer research, education, advocacy, and services.
”It is an inspiring event that celebrates hope, honors the courage of our survivors,
and remembers lives lost to this disease. The efforts of our college, community,
friends, and families will help to eliminate cancer in our lifetime,” says Amybeth
Maurer, director of orientation and student life.
ECC, community reach out with
Project Backpack
Last August, approximately 1,850 Elgin-area children in need of school supplies
received free backpacks filled with notebooks, pens, pencils, and other school
supplies provided by Project Backpack—a community-based initiative Elgin
Community College helped organize. This is Project Backpack’s second year.
The college and its sponsors—The United Way of Elgin and South Elgin,
Community Crisis Center, School District U-46, School District 300, Kane County
Regional Office of Education, and Kane County Teachers Credit Union—collected
supplies for the event.
Community supported by ECC job fairs
Elgin Community College again proved to be a resource for the local
unemployed and underemployed, drawing 1,450 people to its annual Job
Fair in the Spartan Events Center last spring. Employers anticipated filling
approximately 379 positions.
Also, the college provided the setting for an employment expo held by Illinois
Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka in December. In addition to having employers,
the expo also featured workshops held by ECC Career Services.
ECC Kids’ College offers summertime
learning alternative
Children with the summertime blues stimulated their minds and satisfied their
passion for art, entertainment, academic enrichment, and nature during Elgin
Community College Kids’ College. The program offers opportunities for children
ages 6 to 16 to explore new activities and interests in a unique, noncompetitive

A variety of camps helped children brush up on academic and social skills;
develop their cultural knowledge; and explore interests in writing, language, and
the arts. The program also offered before- or after-camp child care through the
college’s Early Childhood Laboratory School and scholarships to help make Kids’
College more affordable.

FINANCIAL
SUMMARY
Elgin Community College uses a conservative budgeting
model that emphasizes fiscal responsibility while
providing for the college’s focus on teaching and learning.
For fiscal year 2011, ECC again received a clean, unqualified audit opinion from its external auditing firm. ECC
has always maintained a balanced budget and continued its strong financial position in 2011, despite a difficult
economy, by providing ample liquidity as demonstrated by four months of operating expenses in reserve (as
mandated by Community College District 509 Board of Trustees).
ECC’s business offices are staffed with knowledgeable and experienced financial experts who apply industry-wide
best practices to the stewardship of community resources.

Developmental Education
ECC offers five associate degrees in more than 25
fields. The college is also a great place to start a
bachelor’s degree, earn summer credits for transfer,
or begin dual admission with a university.
ECC collaborates with numerous colleges and universities
to offer a seamless transition leading to a bachelor’s
degree. In addition to formal transfer agreements
and online partners, several four-year degrees can be
completed at ECC’s campus through special arrangements
with partnering institutions.
With more than 150 study options, these programs prepare
students for immediate employment. That may be why seven
out of 10 area employers have hired an ECC student in the last
10 years.
The college also offers adult basic education, English as a
second language, and preparation for the General Education
Development (GED) test. ECC also helps developmental students
transition into college-level coursework, leading to a degree
or certificate.

FACILITIES
MASTER PLAN
Elgin Community College is growing, and the college’s
Facilities Master Plan is becoming a reality! ECC began 2010
with a series of groundbreaking ceremonies that heralded the
start of several construction projects, and by the end of 2011,
visitors could already see and experience the results.
Three new buildings have changed the Elgin
Community College landscape—the Multipurpose
Classroom Building, Renner Academic Library and
Learning Resources, and the Health and Life Sciences
Building.
The Multipurpose Classroom Building was the first
to open in January 2011. This 71,000-square-foot
structure was converted from two former light-industrial
properties and now serves as the new home for workforce
transitions, adult basic and secondary education, English
as a second language, GED, TRiO, and Upward Bound.
The Health and Life Sciences Building and the Renner
Academic Library and Learning Resources, which were
completed in 2011 and opened in January 2012, were
under budget and six months ahead of schedule. The
Health and Life Sciences Building has 29 new classrooms/
laboratories/teaching spaces that simulate a real-world
environment for the college’s health-related programs.
The new library features 14 private study rooms, three
large classrooms, and more than 120 public computers. It
is also home to tutoring, intensive English, and distance
learning.

While our students were succeeding at record rates
in the classroom—a national publication recognized
ECC as top 50 in the nation for granting one-year
certificates—the college completed three major
construction projects funded by the $178 million
referendum passed in 2009. The Multipurpose
Classroom Building, constructed from two former

Square Campus, including workforce transitions,
adult basic and secondary education, and English
as a second language. Two much-needed spaces on
campus, the Renner Academic Library and Learning

with major construction projects.
