It is our pleasure to welcome you and your team to Saint Joseph’s University. This guide is to help inform you about Saint Joseph’s University and the various services that we have available on and around campus. We hope to provide your teams and fans with a positive experience during their visit. The 2014–15 Visiting Team Guide can be used to find local amenities such as restaurants, lodging, attractions, and directions to our various facilities. Also included is contact information for members of the athletic department staff. Sincerely, Don DiJulia Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics 3 Arrival: Upon arrival at Saint Joseph’s, visiting teams should check in with the attendant at the front desk of Hagan Arena. The attendant will direct the teams to equipment room personnel, who will provide assistance with locker rooms, medical supplies, etc. Admission : Admission is free to all Saint Joseph’s University contests held at all on-‐campus venues except for men’s and women’s basketball games at Hagan Arena. For basketball ticketing information, please contact the Saint Joseph’s ticket office at (610) 660-‐1712. Parking: On-‐campus car parking is limited during the week when classes are in session. Buses may drop team members off before and pick teams up after competition. The security staff will inform the bus driver about appropriate parking locations. Team vans will be permitted on campus, and will be afforded parking as space becomes available. Medical Needs: A Certified Athletic Trainer will be present at all Saint Joseph’s home athletic contests. All necessary medical supplies will be available while ice and water will be provided for team benches. Paramedics are present at all men’s and women’s basketball games at Hagan Arena and will be on call for all other on–campus athletic contests. Turnpike South to Exit 6 (Pa. Turnpike connector). Follow Pa. Turnpike to Exit 20 (I-‐476). Follow I-‐476 South to I-‐76 East, towards Philadelphia. Follow I-‐76 East to Exit 339 (US Rt. 1 South/City Ave.). Turn left onto 54th St. and then turn right into parking lot. From the East: From the Ben Franklin Bridge (via I-‐676) or the Walt Whitman Bridge: Follow I-‐76 West to Exit 339 (US Rt. 1/City Ave.). Turn left on 54th St. and then turn right into parking lot. From the South: I-‐95 North to I-‐476. Follow I-‐476 North to Exit 5 (US Rt. 1). Follow US Rt. 1 North to SJU, approximately 10 miles. Turn right onto 54th St. and turn right into parking lot. From the West: PA Turnpike to Exit 326 (Valley Forge). Follow I-‐76 East, towards Philadelphia, to Exit 339 (US Rt.1 South/City Ave.). Turn left onto 54th St. and turn right into the parking lot. From Philadelphia International Airport: I-‐95 North to I-‐76 West to Exit 339 (US Rt. 1 South/City Ave.). Turn left onto 54th St. and turn right into the parking lot. Bus and Van Drop-‐Off: From City Avenue turn onto 54th St. Go to first driveway on the right (just past the speed bump) and enter the Mandeville Hall parking lot. Proceed to the front entrance of Hagan Arena. Team locker rooms are in Hagan Arena. Sweeney Field is to the right. Spectator Parking: Available at Hawks Landing Garage, located off City Ave. at 54th St. To access the garage turn onto 54th St. At the speed bump, turn into the garage. Sweeney Field is located just past the main entrance of the campus, adjacent to Mandeville Hall. 10 MAGUIRE CAMPUS Smithson Field (Baseball)/Ryan Field (Field Hockey) SJU Tennis Complex (Tennis)/SJU Softball Field (Softball) (GPS Address: 376 N. Latches Lane, Merion Station, PA 19066) Bus Drop-‐off: From the North: Proceed south on City Avenue past 54th St. Go to the first traffic light past 54th St. and turn right at the next light. After passing the second house on the left turn left toward McShain Hall. Follow the lane to the end and team members can be dropped off there. The bus is to proceed off Maguire Campus to park. Van Drop-‐Off: Teams traveling by vans will follow the directions for “Bus Drop-‐ Off” to drop off team members. Van parking will be available in the Hawks Landing Garage on the Main Campus. The vans are to proceed off the Maguire Campus by going right out of the lot. At the next traffic light (Cardinal Avenue), turn left. The van will continue to make three additional left turns. After the last left turn, Hawks Landing is on 54th St. on the right. Team members will follow path toward the O’Pake Recreation Center. Locker rooms are located in the O’Pake Center and the fields are in the back of the center. The tennis courts are located to the right side of the O’Pake center. Spectator Parking: Available at Hawks Landing, located off City Avenue at 54th St. To access the lot, turn onto 54th St. At the speed bump turn left into the lot.
