has become a signature event
within the lumber Industry, and the
premier tradeshow. No other show
can come close to providing the
value of Traders Market. The networking and business opportunities are unmatched.
After a very successful show in

At the 2012 Traders Market, you
will see some familiar features and
a few new ones. The schedule
once again allows attendees to
return home for the weekend or
stay and enjoy some downtime
after the show. The New Product
Showcase returns after a second
successful year. The Magellan

feature an expert presentation on
the industry in China. Part of the
success of Traders Market is that
people know what to plan around.
There are

though. The
most evident
one is the

continued it
at the 2012

While I am sure you will enjoy the
two or three days you spend at
Traders Market, I hope you leave

more to NAWLA. For some of you,
the show is the only contact you
have with NAWLA. We want to
change that. If you arenʼt a member, please join. If you already are,
we hope you participate in our
other programs offered year

“Join NAWLA at the Crossroads of
the Industry” November 7-9, 2012
Letter from the chairman...
Dear Industry Friends,
Welcome back to Chicago. The
industryʼs movers and shakers are
making their plans to attend the
NAWLA Traders Market®, the lumber industryʼs premier event. As
always, the focus is on networking
and business. Traders Market has
always offered spectacular value,
and this yearʼs show continues
that tradition.
NETWORKING FUNCTIONS –
Networking continues to be the
foundation of Traders Market. Part
of the show floor (Networking
MIKE MORDELL
Central) is a dedicated area to do
business away from the traffic in
the aisles. The show also provides
networking cocktail receptions on
Wednesday
and
Thursday
evenings as a launching pad to
dinner and meetings with customers and potential clients.
GLOBAL PROGRAMMING –
Each year, Magellan Network program focuses on current topics in
global trade. This year, the breakfast will focus on the latest news
from China.
Russ Taylor,
International WOOD Markets
Group, will update attendees on
the current economic conditions in
China and his views on what the
future might hold.
GENNEXT LUNCH PROGRAM –
Continuing NAWLAʼs recent focus
on the next generation of leaders
in the lumber industry, Traders
Market will include for the first time
a special program for GenNext.
On Wednesday, luncheon participants will get the chance to network with their peers while listening to an engaging speaker about
how to lead teams in high change,
high expectation environments.
NEW PRODUCT SHOWCASE –
Once again, the show floor will
include a special area featuring
products newly or recently
released to the market. Make sure
you stop by to see the next big
products to hit the market.
We hope you visit us as Traders
Market returns “home” to Chicago
this year. The networking and
business opportunities in one location are unrivaled, and Chicago
provides a great city to entertain
clients. This is the event to attend
to make sure your company succeeds in 2013.
See you in Chicago!

What’s in a name?
A promise.
“I’ll give you three reasons why we buy CollinsWood
for our pattern and fascia stock. One: they are the
absolute leaders in FSC-certified softwood. Period.
Two: there is a sense of loyalty, of confidence.
They know us. We know them. We trust each other.
Finally, our businesses are in close proximity which
minimizes our carbon footprint. All in all, that’s why
we choose FSC-certified Collins Softwood.”

BITTERROOT VALLEY FOREST PRODUCTS Stays On Cutting Edge With New Products
Missoula, Mont.–At Bitterroot Valley
Forest Products, our mission is to provide the finest quality specialty wood
products on the market. We continually work to improve our existing product
lines while developing new products to
stay on the cutting edge of the wood
products industry including our new
EPEX Trim® line and Montana Ghost
Wood®.
We have, and always will be a
Montana based business, and in keeping with that we employ Montana people and utilize Montana products
whenever feasible.
Our commitment to sustainable
forestry is evident in every aspect of
our business; we use beetle-kill and
standing dead timber in some of our
Montana Ghost Wood® product lines.
We have partnerships with forest conscious mills and utilize our wood
shavings bi-product for our line
of animal bedding. We are continuously striving to make our
business more eco-friendly.
Bitterroot
Valley
Forest
Products is proud to be the
industry leader in specialty
wood products and values the
long term relationships it has
built with both customers and
suppliers over the last 30
years. We look forward to
continuing to provide the
industry with quality products,
delivered in a timely fashion,
at an affordable price.
J&R Planing was started in
1977 as a small mill on the
Edinger family ranch in
Florence, Montana.
The Edinger Family soon
moved its operation to a piece
of property on Hwy. 93 in
Florence and proceeded to
grow and expand their business, supplying jobs and revenue to the local Bitterroot
Valley.
In 1989, Jim Edinger expand-

At Cersosimo we provide you with the
largest and most consistent supply of
quality hardwood—from the heart of
New England forests. And we’ve been
doing it for over 55 years. You’ve come
to count on us to be there and deliver
the best—and do it consistently.

mill and reload yard in
Missoula. This second mill,
Montana West Lumber, has
been an active part of the
Missoula economy ever since.
Bitterroot
Valley
Forest
Products came to fruition in 1997,
adding to our family of business, a
sales arm. With six in-house traders,
this branch of our business has helped
bring our company to the forefront of
the lumber industry. We are able to
provide the large range of specialty
wood products from our new treated
EPEX Trim® line to companies from
local contractors to the largest national distributors. In 2008, J&R lost its Florence mill to a
fire. The entire building and much of
the equipment was lost. But in true
Montana fashion, we pulled together,
moved the entire operation to our
Montana West location and were operational within one week. The two operations have now been
combined under the name J&R
Planing, Inc. The centralization of
operations allows us to continue to
serve our faithful customers and
expand the line of quality products for
which we have become known.
In 2009, Bitterroot Valley Forest
Products expanded its reach by
acquiring a "state of the art" priming
facility in Savannah, Ga. The addition
of Bitterroot Valley Forest Products of
Savannah makes our treated and
primed products available and affordable for customers from coast to coast.
Over the last 30 years, our business
has gone from a two-man operation on
the family ranch to one of the largest
specialty wood product manufacturers
in the country. It is with this rich history and fortitude that we continually
strive to bring new products, services,
and cutting edge technology to the
wood products industry.
Our commitment to our customers is
evident in everything we do. We are
driven to produce the most consistent
products available. Quality control is of
the utmost importance to us. You can
be assured that Bitterroot Valley
Forest Products will do everything in
its power to resolve any product quality issue that may arise. Please give us
