Fall 2016 Program Booklet - Avon Lake Public Library
A VON L AKE P U B L I C L I B R A R Y DIRECTOR’S NOTE The paranormal investigators from Tri-C Ghost Hunters will demonstrate their techniques on October 10; things will go bump in the night out in the Library parking lot and in Kopf Family Reservation on October 15; and local resident, retired attorney and newlyminted author John Keyse-Walker will talk about his award-winning debut novel, Sun, Sand, Murder, on October 18. But before all of that happens, Avon-on- the-Lake Garden Club will transform the Library over the weekend of September 17 and 18 for a Standard Flower Show. This prestigious juried event, entitled, “It Happens in Fall,” will be meticulously mounted by our Garden Club and showcase the best of all things horticultural in the community. Join these lovers of gardening as the Library is decked out in the colors of fall that Mother Nature has so generously created for us. Garden Club has also been kind enough to designate a table in the Children’s department, showcasing the fall bounty from our Children’s garden, located in the south bay. We thank Avon-on-the-Lake Garden Club for choosing us as their venue for this special event. The Show’s hours on both Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 are 1:00 pm–4:00 pm. Please mark your calendar and treat yourself to an hour or two of enjoyment and education, delighting in color, texture, design and simplicity. See you at the Show! Mary P. Two years later he finished Sun, Sand, Murder, a mystery about a small-island constable who finds his routine life thrown into tumult as he tries to track a killer. Keyse-Walker won the Minotaur Books/Mystery Writers of America First Crime Novel Award. Books will be available for purchase and signing, following his presentation.
