All you need to become a N.E.E.T. driver is a depend-able car, a good driving record, a caring heart and a little time each month! N.E.E.T. drivers. The Northern Essex Elder Transport program (NEET) drives seniors from their homes to medical appointments. All seniors requesting N.E.E.T. rides are independent and ambulatory. N.E.E.T. drivers are provided with an orientation into the program, supplemental insurance for their vehicles, and a reimbursement stipend of 43¢ per mile driven. The N.E.E.T. program meets a critical community need with reliable, dependable transportation to those with no other way to get to important medical appointments. To volunteer, call 978-983-8825.
