Central Bucks Y offers Adapted Basketball
The Central Bucks Family YMCA is partnering with the CBAA and Top
Soccer to offer its first Adapted Basketball program to the Central Bucks
community. The program combines modified instruction, equipment and
boundaries with volunteers from Wind Mill Day camp and basketball
players at the Y, including Matt McGahran, Jim Reichwein and Manny
Garcia, to allow individuals with disABILITIES to play team basketball.
The program was subsidized by an anonymous donor who covered
the program expense. There are currently more than 50 students ages
5 to 16 participating in the program, which is offered on Sundays, from
noon to 1 p.m., on the Y campus in Doylestown. Call 215-348-8131 x1141.

Alumni update
Continued from page B3
Tenaglia said in an e-mail on a JMU team
that opened March with nine straight wins.
“Honestly, I haven’t been doing anything
differently, just seeing the ball well.
“The only thing different is my
appreciation for the game now,” continued Tenaglia, who is hitting .385
with a team-high nine doubles. “After
missing an entire season due to my
ACL tear last year, it was a huge
wake-up call to see how quickly
baseball can be taken away from me.
I don’t take anything for granted anymore and I’m just having fun out there.”
With this white-hot start to the
collegiate baseball and softball seasons, Tenaglia isn’t the only area product having fun collecting hardware.
Notable: Three other area alumni
are in line for their team’s MVP
award. St. Joseph’s freshman infielder Sarah Yoos (Warrington) leads
the Lady Hawks in batting average
(.438), slugging percentage (.642)
and RBI (17). Freshman infielder
Danny Hoy (Sellersville) leads
Princeton in hitting (.358) and onbase percentage (.462). Junior OF
Pete O’Hara (New Hope) is hitting
a team-best .345 for Delaware Valley
College. Sophomore OF Matt
Hanson (CB West) leads Moravian
in hitting (.388) and extra-base hits
(13). Statistics are through Sunday.
