Our Judges
Amee Abel began playing Rally in 2008. She loved the kindness of
the judges, the friendliness of the competitors, and the opportunity
to spend the weekend playing with her dogs. Seven years later,
she's still excited to spend a weekend playing Rally. And hopes to
share the fun with every dog owner she meets.

Rachel Brostrom began training, teaching and competing in Rally starting
in 2005 and became a WCRL (formerly APDT Rally) judge in 2009. She loves
watching great rally teams as a judge, fellow competitor, trial host and Friend!
Rachel has had the pleasure of stepping into the Rally ring with four canine
friends- Georgia currently, and Kobe, Mighty Maximus and Libby previously.
Rachel and her dogs actively compete in Agility, Rally and Obedience
Rachel spends a lot of her time at the Monadnock Humane Society in Swanzey, NH where she teaches and works. To everyone at NEROE- Good Luck!!
Dana Chenier was first introduced to WCRL Rally (formerly APDT) in 2008 and began
competing with her Australian Shepherd, Pearl, in 2009. Impressed with the teamwork
showcased and buoyed by the encouragement of exhibitors and judges, Dana was
hooked after stewarding and watching her first trial. Australian Shepherd, Zig, joined in
the fun in 2010. Dana and her dogs also enjoy competing in Agility and Obedience.
Ruth Ellis has been training dogs for more than 30 years. She is a long
time Alaskan Malamute Rescue of New England (AMRONE) volunteer
spending her spare time fostering and training Alaskan Malamutes. Ruth is a graduate of All Dogs Academy completing courses in
the art, science and skills of training dogs. Her dogs have trained, participated and titled in Rally , Competition Obedience, and Weight Pull.
Annette MacNair became a WCR Rally Judge in 2010, back when it was APDT Rally. Annette has taught Rally classes and loves doing 1 day Rally workshops. Annette has enjoyed meeting some of the
best people and their dogs while having fun in the Rally ring. Currently teaching Puppy and
Basic Manners Classes, Annette lives in Camden Maine with her husband David and their
two dogs; Golden, ARCHEX Grace O'Malley, The Pirate Queen: RL1x10 RL2 x7 RL3x4 RLV
AOE & RLVX CGC & RE, and a Long Coat Chihuahua JuliO'Malley: RL1 & RA, whose given
name is Julio - Down by the Schoolyard.
Nancy McDonald attended her first APDT Rally trial in November of 2008 and was immediately
drawn to the venue due by the comradery of the competitors and the kindness of the judges. She
has competed with her two Golden Retrievers, Butchey and Lola. Both dogs have been nationally
ranked and earned multiple ARCHMX titles. After losing a rear leg to cancer, Butchey enjoyed
competing in the Veteran Class earning his RLVX. Rally Obedience is a big part of the bond she
shares with her dogs. Nancy enjoys judging and watching each team's unique bond. She believes
that Rally can be thought of as a type of dance of mutual respect and teamwork between dog and
handler. It is not always about qualifying, and as long as each team leaves the ring having had a
positive experience, both dog and handler win.
Casey Palmer began training and competing in rally with her Border Collie,
Fly, in 2005. She quickly realized that WCRL (formerly APDT Rally) was the perfect venue to help Fly with her nervousness in the ring. During the last few
years they really found their niche in Veterans class and Fly ended her career
as the #1 Veteran Champion and second highest titled Veteran dog in WCRL
Rally. Casey became a judge in 2014 with the hope of being able to help welcome novice teams the same way judges helped her.
Charlene Swainamer has been competing in Rally with her dogs, be it AKC, CKC, UKC, WCRL since 2005. She
became a WCRL Judge in 2009. Her beloved Olivia shined in the rally
ring. Her Chloe aka Coo developed confidence in the rally ring. Both
dogs also went on to earn their ARCHMX's and be Nationally Ranked.
Her current partner, Gabriel is her "Rock Star". This beloved boy is the
#1 Nationally Ranked WCRL Dog in the USA for 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Gabriel and Charlene also compete in Obedience and recently earned
their AKC UDX. When they are not competing, Gabriel enjoys swimming, walks in the woods, tennis balls, and just being a dog!!
