INVITATION
TO THE INTERNATIONAL CAMP FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
In August, 1-10, 2014, Rotary Club Hateg invites young people to the summer camp in Hateg
County – Retezat (Carpathian Mountains).

Motto: Culture and Adventure in Hateg County-Retezat
Purpose: sports, mountain, walking, tradition and history
Program: according to the appendix
Participants: 14 young people
Age: 18-25 years old
Language: in the camp, common language is English
Accommodation: Pensions
Food: specific to Europe and to Romania
Price: 390 Euro/participant. Money will be tranfered by 15.06.2014 to the following bank
account: RO51 BTRL 0220 4205 1097 5901, opened at Banca Transilvania Hateg, SWIFT:
BTRL022, beneficiary: Rotary Club Hateg
The tickets to and from the camp will be paid by the participants, Rotary Clubs or by the
Sponsor Districts; Pocket money for personal needs.
Insurance: Participants need health insurance, in case of accidents, loosing luggage and civil
responsibility.

By plane: Airport in Sibiu, Timisoara or Cluj Napoca
By train: Station in Deva, Simeria or Subcetate
Visa: Participants from non EU countries need a visa
Participation requirements: Good physical condition, effort resistance
Individual equipment: mountain equipment – comfortable boots (brand new shoes, unworn
is not recommended), shoes for inside and outside, anorak preferably with hood, cap, sweater
(woolen or fleece), long sleeved shirt, trousers, shorts, waterproof coat, T-shirts, socks,
sunglasses, bottle for water, personal hygiene stuff, sleeping bag, knapsack, lamp, photo
camera.
Suggestions: It is recommended to bring a flag of the country you come from and of the
sponsor club.
Candidate Registration: Applications (EMMA) – scanned in pdf format will be e-mailled by
15.06.2014 to [email protected]. Registration will be accepted for the first 14
candidates.

Visit to the buffalo reservation Slivut – specialised guide, visit to the Museum
of the Hateg County, traditional Romanian lunch at the Visiting Centre of The
National Park of Retezat (PNR) – www.retezat.ro- each participant will make
a short presentation of the country he comes from, socialising –
entertainment, dinner at PUB „Parc Caffe” Hateg.

Meeting the mayor of Hateg – presenting the activity of the public
administration in Romania, visit of the institution, Q&A, the meeting room of
the Local Council, visit to the Dinosaurs Geopark in Hateg County –
www.hateggeoparc.ro- specific guide „Following the Dinosaurs”. Exposition:
„Dragons and Dinosaurs” in Hateg, explanation of the fossils and creating
some castings using real fossils and some introduction to what being a
paleontholog means. The house of the Little Dinosaurs Sanpetru, The
Dinosaurs Valley, The fossils point ’’La Scoaba”, The Granite field in Sibisel,

Presenting the rules for the camp, rangers’ attributions, „Let’s get to know
The National Retezat Parc” – interractive presentation of PNR; participants’
presentation of the country they are coming from, socialising –
entertainment, some notions about turistic orientation, initiation survival in
natural environment (how to prepare a knapsack, assembling a tent, starting
a fire, first aid, alerting, communication).

Walking – educational route „Black goat and their neighbours”, lunch on the
route, direction competition „Find the treasure”, socialising-entertainment.

walking, participants are being assisted by a salvamont person who will also
the safety equipment; all of these end with a 85 meters lowering the flying fox
