THE EVENT- READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II
WELCOME to the READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II. Well, we did it, with your help of course! The
first RRRMM was a success and everyone asked us to do it again, so here we are! Because our first effort was
a success, we have not changed much for our second event. Our event is very simple – get everyone
interested in modeling the Reading Railroad together and enjoy displays of our modeling efforts, learn more
about the Reading Railroad and how to model it, see Reading Railroad inspired layouts, enjoy meeting fellow
Reading modelers and creating long lasting friendships! Our event includes many extras- Clinics, displays,
optional lunch, layout tours and a ticket to the RCT&HS Fall Train Show! For further information or questions,

FRIDAY– REGISTRATION, SOCIAL and LAYOUT TOURS
We open the READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II with registration, social hour(s) and layout tours at
the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum in Hamburg, PA. You have full access to the museum and its displays.
Even the sales counter will be open! Of course the big item is the layout tour of the Reading Co. Shamokin
Div. of Jim Hertzog! This layout has been in the model press many times! Plus, we’ll have 2 other layouts for
tour. See them all here, as part of the READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II !
SATURDAY– REGISTRATION & MAIN EVENT
Registration will again be open from 8am-10am for those that could not attend Friday’s activities. Once you
arrive, the first few hours will be model set-up, viewing of the modeling displays and talking to the modelers, via
“science fair” style. We will also have several vendors of Reading items available for viewing and purchase. At
10am, we’ll start the first of two clinics that are scheduled before the lunch break. After the lunch break we will
have 3 more clinics for your viewing and learning pleasure. After the clinics, we’ll do the model awards, give
out door prizes and conclude the event for the day at the Hamburg High School.
SATURDAY LUNCH
READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II is pleased to again offer a lunch, brought right to us so we don’t
miss any of the camaraderie of our fellow Reading modelers! Hoagies and fixin’s will again be our lunch by a
local shop. You MUST pre-register for lunch by September 10, 2014! There will be no extra lunches to
purchase at the Meet. For those not purchasing a lunch, snacks & refreshments will be sold and/or you are
welcome to go out and return.
SATURDAY EVENING – READING MODELER.COM USERS CONCLAVE
NEW for the READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II is the Reading Modeler.com Users Conclave. This
will be a meeting and social time at the HQ hotel with snacks and refreshments provided by the Reading
Modeler.com! While the focus will be on current users, ALL attending the READING RAILROAD MODELERS
MEET II are welcome! We’ll probably have a few computers there, to demonstrate the website and its features.
Come on over to the Micro-Tel after your dinner time and mingle with the users!
SUNDAY – SHOP TOUR READING, BLUE MTN & NORTHERN RR
READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II is pleased and honored to be able to have our participants
participate in a tour of the shops of the Reading, Blue Mtn & Northern Railroad in Port Clinton, PA. This tour
will be on Sunday afternoon and will conclude the event activities. Come and attend for a full weekend of
Reading RR fun!
NEXT SUNDAY – RCT&HS FALL TRAIN SHOW
READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II is again pleased and honored to be able to have our participants
get FREE admission to the annual RCT&HS Fall Train Show. This event will be one week after the READING
RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II, on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Leesport Farmers Market. BUT, you will
get FREE admission by showing your MEET II badge! Attend, have fun and find that model you need!
EVENT EXTRAS!!
READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II is going to be a slightly different type of Meet. We’ll have ballots
for all participants to fill out, so we can award some Certificate Awards to your choices for excellence in
Reading modeling. Plus, we’ll be sending out many letters/emails to various companies that produce Reading
models to get some of those to give away with random drawings for Door Prizes! Lots to do, see and hopefully
receive at the READING RAILROAD MODELERS MEET II !
