Other data sources include: The Regional Municipality of Durham, Planning and Economic Development Department, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation. Participation in the 2011 NHS was voluntary as opposed to the 2006 Long Form Census which was mandatory. There is a risk of inaccuracies in the NHS data due to non-response bias. As such, the NHS data provides a useful tool for general geographical comparisons but care should be taken when used for historical comparisons.
