And here-in lies its dilemma, because Mary comes to a home, like most homes, that is struggling with the day-to-day effort to balance all life requires of any of those who live there. Life requires some but maybe not all of work, self worth, fulfillment, and parenting, growing up, decision-making, romance, etc. and not necessarily in that or any particular order. Mary Poppins is timeless because each of these struggles are timeless to every generation of the human race. Though timeless they may be, there is no manual to make sure we do any of them correctly (nor would it do much good, most of us would only rewrite it). This musical/play is truly about the family and how each learns that listening and heeding to each others needs is a key to the ever onward march through this life we all experience. “Mary” represents the spirit of inspiration toward these interacting moments. She and Bert help this brilliant and loving family to function more prosperously. By watching this play, I hope you are not only entertained but that “Mary” may spread some light to each of you, after all we will all be on our own following the performance. Good Luck! She thanks her family; daughter Annelie, for starting her on this creative journey many years ago and husband Paul, for his constant support and for letting her play with her “paints”! She also thanks her Signature family, especially DeAnna Anderson for believing in her talents. Special thanks to Dr. Karl, Steve and Sandra. MARLENE LANE (Props Master) Marlene is delighted to be working on Mary Poppins, her third show with Signature Productions. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications in Technical Theater at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She then headed to Colorado where she was Props Designer for The Arvada Center for the Arts & Humanities and then The Bonfils Theatre/Denver Center Theatre Company. After relocating to Southern California, she had the thrill of being Production Assistant for San Bernardino Civic Light Opera’s A Chorus Line, whose cast included several original Broadway cast members. Her Vegas shows include: Joseph with Stage Door/SST, White Christmas and Les Miserables with Signature Productions, Spamalot with PSFX/SST, and Shrek with Feral/SST. She would like to thank Dr. Karl, Mama Leigh & DeAnna for their Sweet Support!!! JESEE JONES (Assistant Stage Manager) This is Jesee’s eleventh show with Signature, and it has been a blast. She would like to dedicate this show to her theater mentor who recently passed away. She would also like to thank her family for supporting her in following her passion.
