This is a great way to check if a class is available. When registering please provide an email address. All communications regarding class information and cancellations will be sent via email. Pre-registration is required. Registrations and course fees are due prior to the start of class. Refund Policy Refunds for classes are not available once a class begins. Any cancellation request received within one week prior to a class start date will be issued a refund, otherwise, a processing fee applies. Sorry, we cannot honor cancellations for travel, food, beverage classes or classes that require preordering of materials. Refunds will automatically be issued if a class is cancelled for any reason. Mini-Gym Turtles: Parent & Child Come and enjoy 45 minutes of exploration and movement with your child (18 months-3 years). Class will include group warm-up activities, creative dance and gymnastics skills to develop body awareness and gross motor skills in an environment appropriate for toddlers. Class includes group activities, gymnastics instruction, and fun games designed to increase body awareness and develop basic gymnastics skills. This is a smaller and more intimate class than the base class, so consider this class for 4 and 5-year-olds who would benefit from a small class size of children in same age range. All sessions are co-ed and will explore the basics on vault, bars, beam, and floor mat. Each class is divided into smaller groups within age and ability levels allowing for individual progress. Each session consists of 6 classes. You may take more than one session at a time. Please wear athletic-fit clothing or leotard & bring a water bottle. Pre-team is a continuation of the base program. At this level, gymnasts develop the skills on all four apparatuses and begin to learn skills and routines for competition. Gymnasts are evaluated from the pre-team to join the MAGIC competition team. The competition season starts late October and goes until late April. Saturday practices during meet season may be cancelled depending on competition schedule. Note: Level 6+ Option B is only available until 11/4. The risk of a young person committing suicide increases after a parent has received care for a mental health issue. Teachers who report having more symptoms of depression have classrooms of lesser quality. In this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of various mental health issues as they relate to student and teacher performance and insight into how to address such issues. Topics covered include recognizing and understanding abnormal behavior current theory and research on abnormal behavior and approaches to management and treatment. Data comes from a variety of research methods including experimental, descriptive/ correlational, and action which serves as a rational for improving teaching practices. In this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of various research methodologies in order to improve your teacher effectiveness. Learn about the following topics: • Evaluating research in order to support best teaching practices • Research techniques and design in order to develop effective assessment procedures • Data analysis (including basic statistical analysis) • Reporting data to help facilitate discussion with invested parties. • Ethical concerns in order to protect teacher and student • How research results can be used to improve teaching practices. This 137 hour applications and performance course teaches principles and procedures in emergency, home, hospital, and nursing home medical care. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the State of Wisconsin Nurse Aides Exam held on our campus. There is a $750 Course Fee and a $115.00 Fee for the State Exam. Add three or more additional practice sessions consisting of a combination of drills, skills, and open gym time. Practice Plus Punch cards are available for 3, 6 or 9 (Level 5+ only) practices. Gymnasts do not have to notify in advance which practices they will attend, but will use their punch cards instead. Punch card will expire on 11/5. Available drop-in practice dates listed online. Learn key components, including feeding, diapering, discipline issues, identifying safety hazards, as well as, caring for common injuries and emergencies, such as choking, cuts, and burns. Walk away with the skills to be a confident, capable babysitter. You will receive the Babysitter’s Training Handbook, Emergency Reference Guide, and Training CD. Please bring a sack lunch. Fee: $30 10:45am-12:45pm Course: F705 Session 3: Heal Your Life: Group Reiki Seminar & Session This service provides a session that promotes healing; is affordable and has the ability to help many people at the same time. Any size group can benefit, from two people to onehundred people. This session is designed to encourage healing for any moderate to severe health issues including cancer and fibromyalgia. Fee: $30 1-3:00pm Course: F706 Skiing and Snowboarding Take for 1 college credit or just for fun. Class for all ability levels, high school to adult. Total of seven meeting times; six lessons w/last night free ski. Each session includes free ski and lesson. Get a special reduced rate lift ticket includes entry/lift for all sessions, and rentals of either skis or snowboard equipment! There will be an orientation meeting to cover questions on classes, car-pooling and more. Specific dates and times TBD. This class is aimed at riders who want to maintain their bike, whether it’s their commuter or weekend ride. Topics covered in this class include: the basics of flat repair and change, cleaning and lubing the chain, wear and damage inspection, derailleur adjustments as well as brake inspection and adjustment. Bring your own bike so you can get hands-on experience on how to do these tasks. Course fee includes a tire lever set, a tube, and lubricant. Please wear clothing that you are ok with getting dirty.
