Spend a day with Ross Hogarth, learning from his diverse mixing techniques!
Ross’s ability to capture the elusive “heartland rock” sound is evident on
John Mellencamp’s defining albums, including Scarecrow, The Lonesome
Jubilee, and Big Daddy. Ross also engineered Van Halen’s reemergence with A Different Kind of
Truth, and crafted Lifes Rich Pageant, one of R.E.M.’s most forceful albums. From the metallic party
anthems of Motley Crue’s Girls, Girls, Girls, to the slick blues-rock of Keb’ Mo’s Slow Down, Ross has
never allowed himself to be pigeonholed into any single genre. Whether your sessions involve
folk, blues, or straight-ahead heavy metal, the hours spent with Ross will give you a whole new
perspective on how to use the studio as an artistic tool.
