For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if

Saturday, October 8: Florence
6:00AM: Motorcoach will depart from Lancaster, AC Moore Store located in Lancaster Shopping Center on the
Oregon Pike/ Route 272 side of the store.
7:00AM: Depart from Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn, 2301 Paxton Church Rd; travel to Florence, SC with
appropriate rest and meal stops en route.
Check into your hotel with time to freshen up before a delightful dinner at the Red Bone Alley Restaurant this
evening. Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites, Florence, SC (Dinner)
Sunday, October 9: Beaufort carriage tour After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey to Beaufort, SC known as the “Queen of the Carolina Sea Islands.” Upon
arrival in Beaufort, board a horse drawn carriage for a tour of historic Beaufort where you will learn about the
history, re-live the past through the narration of your guide and see Antebellum and Victorian Architecture.
Following your tour, enjoy some free time for lunch and shopping along the waterfront. Late afternoon depart
for Savannah to check into your hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner at the famous Pirates House
Restaurant. Hotel: Springhill Suites by Marriott, Savannah, GA (Breakfast, Dinner)
Monday, October 10: Savannah Historic District, Dolphin Cruise & Lighthouse tour
After breakfast, meet your guide and depart for a tour of the Savannah Historic District. Our tour will include
a visit to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and the Ships of the Sea Museum. This afternoon you will have
free time and lunch on your own along River Street, a 9-block area adjacent to the Savannah River where old
cotton warehouses have been turned into charming shops and restaurants. Then board Bull River Cruises for a
narrated Dolphin Cruise; learn about the local dolphins, scenery and wildlife found in the low country marshes.
Next enjoy a tour of the Tybee Island Lighthouse and Museum. Dinner this evening will be on the Lighthouse
grounds with free time to take a stroll on the beach. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Magnolia Plantation
Tuesday, October 11: Magnolia Plantation & Charleston Tea Plantation
After breakfast, depart for a morning visit to the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens where you will enjoy a nature
train tour, the Audubon Swamp and tour of the Plantation House. This afternoon a picnic box lunch will be
provided at the Peacock Café. Late afternoon arrival at the Charleston Tea Plantation, the only tea plantation
in North America. View acres and acres of breathtaking tea plants as far as the eye can see, and you will learn
first-hand how tea is made during an informative factory tour, followed by a narrated trolley tour for a scenic
ride around the 127 acre farm. Check into our hotel with free time to freshen up before a delightful dinner at the
James Island Crab House. Hotel: Springhill Suites by Marriott, Charleston, SC (Breakfast, Picnic box lunch, Dinner)
Wednesday, October 12: Charleston Historic District & Fort Sumter
After breakfast, depart for Charleston Visitor’s Center where we will pick up a step-on guide for a tour of
Charleston Historic District which will include a stop at the Citadel, followed by free time in the City Market
for lunch and browsing. This afternoon board our boat and experience a relaxing 30 minute narrated cruise to
historic Fort Sumter. You will be greeted by a National Park Service Ranger who will provide further details about
Fort Sumter and its pivotal role in the American Cival War. At the fort find a very informative museum with many
historic artifacts and a souvenir shop. After a one hour visit, board your boat for a return scenic cruise. Return to
your hotel to freshen up before dinner this evening at the Toast Restaurant followed by a Musical Performance
“Sounds of Charleston”. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Thursday, October 13: Boone Hall Plantation & Florence
After breakfast, depart for Boone Hall Plantation to meet your historical dressed guide who will introduce you to
the history of this plantation and its evolution through several owners since 1681. See this Georgian-designed
home that blends recovered materials and antique furnishings to recreate an atmosphere that would have
surrounded a Coastal Carolina planter’s family and his guests. Followed by a self-guided slave cabins tour and a
delightful picnic box lunch. Afternoon departure for Florence, SC to check into our hotel and enjoy dinner at the
Starfire Grill. Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites, Florence, SC (Breakfast, Picnic box lunch, Dinner)

Friday, October 14: Depart for Central Pennsylvania
Following breakfast, depart for Central Pennsylvania with appropriate rest and meal stops en route. (Breakfast)
