This week, the management team at Balch Logistics got
into a heated argument over what the best trucking movie
of all time is. We couldn't have predicted how many strong
opinions there would be, so instead of choosing one, we
decided to share our top ten favorite classic trucking

SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT (1977)
In this classic trucking movie, Bandit and Cledus, two
truck drivers from the south, are dared to transport beer across state lines during the height of
Prohibition. During their journey, Burt Reynolds (Bandit) picks up a runaway bride who is the future
daughter-in-law of Sheriff Buford T. Justice.
CONVOY (1978)
In this classic trucking movie based on the 1975 country song "Convoy," Kris Kristofferson decides
to stick it to 'The Man' by banding together with a convoy of truckers headed to rally against the
governor of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
BREAKDOWN (1997)
In this classic trucking movie, Kurt Russell and his wife are left stranded in the middle of the desert
after their car breaks down. The two are left stranded in the middle of the desert in a storm of bad
luck. As they try to find help, a passing truck driver offers to give the wife a ride, and in an action
twist, she is being held in a barn for ransom.

In this classic trucking movie Sylvester Stallone plays truck driver Lincoln Hawk who is trying to fit
the pieces of his life together after the tragic death of his wife. In an attempt to win the affection of
his son, Stallone enters a nation-wide arm wrestling competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
THE ROAD WARRIOR (1981)
In this classic trucking movie, Mel Gibson attempts to save a gas-rich community from the likes of a
post-apocalyptic group of bandits scouring the wastelands of Australia by driving an oil truck right
through their territory.
"I'm going to deliver that truck and NOTHING is going to get in my way," is a classic line from
