S U M M E R 2 0 12 Why I chose Dr. Hollingshead “I just wanted the best results, because you can’t replace your eyes. I asked three eye doctors and they all recommended Dr. Hollingshead. He and his staff make you feel at home, they tell you exactly what the plan is for you, and what’s going to happen.” - Russell “I liked Dr. Hollingshead from the first moment I met him. I was just thrilled with the outstanding service. Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating and they answered all of my questions.” - Erin My Advice: Relax “What I’ve found with people I’ve talked with is when they are afraid of anything to do with their eyes. So I tell them, ‘It’s just an easy process to go through—you won’t feel a thing, so don’t be afraid of it.” - David “If a friend or a relative asked me about the cataract procedure, I would say don’t worry about it. There’s no pain, it’s quick, it’s easy, and you can see results fast. There’s absolutely nothing to fear.” - Russell Visit our new MOBILE WEBSITE 360 East Mallard Drive, Suite 110 Boise, ID 83706 • (208) 336-8700 www.HollingsheadEyeCenter.com Mark E. It is perfectly natural to be apprehensive about any type of surgery, particularly when it involves the eyes, but we believe that the more you know about cataract surgery, the better you will feel. During Cataract Awareness Month, we redouble our efforts to spread the good news— how safe, convenient and comfortable cataract surgery is and how it changes lives. Let me tell you about MY CATARACT SURGERY It was CONVENIENT “The surgery took 15 or 20 minutes and we were done. I rested awhile and then went home. The whole thing was so easy.” - Janet “The thing that surprised me the most was that the surgery took only about 15 minutes, then it was over and all done.” - David “All the way through, they took time with me, but in no time they were done.” - Sue It was COMFORTABLE David & Janet Sue Erin Russell In the words OF OUR PATIENTS In this issue of InSight, the patients above share their experiences with cataract surgery and the life-changing results they achieved. Each patient is now enjoying clearer, more youthful vision thanks to Dr. Mark Hollingshead. Living with CATARACTS “When I first started noticing my cataracts, I had headaches, and then it was like a fine mist across my eyes that I couldn’t wipe away. Everything blurred when I had to do detailed work. I couldn’t thread a needle or read without my glasses, and I spent half my time looking for them.” - Janet “There was a bit of cloudiness—a haze— and I was getting headaches. I was having a hard time reading street signs unless I was right on top of them, and the glare from cars at night was really starting to bother me. But the biggest thing was colors—they just weren’t crisp any more.” - Erin “The nurses talked to me and made me feel calm and comfortable. It was the easiest procedure I have ever been through.” - Erin You have a CHOICE. During a cataract procedure, the surgeon removes the cloudy natural lens and implants a new crystal-clear lens to replace it. After carefully considering the health of your eyes, your preferred lifestyle, and the types of demands you place on your vision, your surgeon will advise you as you choose the lens technology that best suits your needs. Will it be a traditional monofocal lens implant plus glasses for near vision? A multifocal “lifestyle” lens implant and less dependence on glasses? A toric lens implant to correct astigmatism? My choice, MY RESULTS “I was completely relaxed and rested and I felt NO pain. I believe it was the best medical experience I have ever had.” - Sue It was EFFECTIVE “I noticed a change in my vision the next day. I couldn’t believe the colors, how crisp and clear everything was.
