Introduction
Université Laval and FORAC are proud to host the 34th COFE Annual Meeting, to be held in Quebec City, Canada, on
June 12-15, 2011. The theme for this year's meeting is "Engineering the forest value chain."
The 2011 COFE meeting begins on Sunday, June 12 with an evening ice breaker. Conferences will be held on Monday
and Wednesday. All participants will be offered a field trip on Tuesday under the theme "Following the value chain... from
small trees to big profits! "Participants will witness the challenges of harvesting small-diameter wood within natural forest
under ecosystem management.
The 2011 annual meeting is organized in collaboration with IUFRO 3.01.
COFE participants are invited to participate in Value Chain Optimization Summer School 2011, to be held June 15-17 on
the Universté Laval campus. Discounted rates apply for combined COFE and VCO Summer School registration.
This survival guide contains information we hope will make your time in Quebec City a little easier.

Registration
Registration will take place during the Sunday ice-breaker (Hôtel Classique, 18:00), as well as on Monday moring (Kruger
building, 07:00).
Pick up your name tag, welcome package, and souvenir polo shirt.
Your name tag will contain all your tickets for the conference (ice-breaker, lunch, banquet, etc.).
If you want to take the optionnal Ghost tour on Monday night, you can buy a ticket at the registration table ($20, cash
only).

Cost is $80.
A shuttle will pick you up at Hôtel Classique at 09:00, and will drop you off at the end of the day. We have hired a
bilingual guide to accompany you all day, and to make sure that the tour stays on track.
