Consolidated Post
Report
The 2015 - 2016 Consolidated Post Report (CPR) is live on the mylegion.org
site. Your posts can now start tracking their work in real time. The online
version of the CPR is superior in a lot of ways over the paper version. A post
can track their annual progress and add to the form at any time before your
specific department submission deadline.
A fillable pdf version is on the Department website and on the legion.org
website. Not only can the department headquarters track posts submission
totals, district leadership, through their district mylegion.org sites, can also
track their individual posts progress. Reporting period for the CPR is June 1,
2015 through May 31, 2016. Cutoff date for your paper report to be to
Department Headquarters if June 10, 2016.

Missouri Society for Military History
2405 Logistics Road
Jefferson City, Mo 65101
Dear Sir,
It has come to the attention of the Missouri Society for Military History (Society), a 501c3 veterans group
affiliated with the Missouri National Guard (MONG), that many veterans' organizations and municipalities
are considering discarding their outdoor military displays (tanks, planes, vehicles, guns, etc., ) due to
dilapidated condition or insurance cost.
The Society is disheartened to hear of this turn of events. As a volunteer organization, dedicated to
documenting the military past of Missourians, the Society would like to see more memorials to units and
activities for future generations of Missourians to appreciate. But the Society understands the driving
force to remove outdoor military displays is the rising cost of insurance and maintenance.
In an effort to save these memorials from the scrap yard the Society offers to help organizations find an
appropriate public display location for the artifact in question. For instance, the Society may coordinate
with the Missouri National Guard to take ownership of the artifact or with another legitimate museum or
municipality.
The Society encourages you to call Museum Director Charles Machon or Doug Sheley at 573-638-9603.
Or, they can be reached at the Museum of Missouri Military History at the Ike Skelton Training Site (ISTS),
Jefferson City to discuss alternatives for your static display. We encourage you to visit the museum and
investigate the possibilities for preservation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert P. Wiegers,
Missouri National Guard Retired
President, Missouri Society for Military History
