He wants to finish up more studies first. Beth also had two different Skype interviews with a possible school psychologist and a possible MS Bible teacher. Pray that God gives wisdom as those two candidates are reviewed and move forward in the process. Beth was able to speak to a group of teens and encourage them to consider missions involvement as they plan for the future. Prayer Elementary • For our 11th and 12th graders taking the Pre-Saber 11 and Saber 11 exams this Sunday. Pray for wisdom and understanding, and that they will remember what they have studied. • For Zayde López (4th grade aide) who took this week off to help her parents with medical errands and to take care of them. Zayde asks for prayer for additional strength from the Lord, and for her health. • For Flavio Uribe’s (HS math teacher) knee. He needs surgery ASAP but it has not been easy to schedule it with the EPS. He needs therapy before the surgery. • For Julián Ramírez’s (9th grade) grandmother Martha González who has cancer. Julián’s mom will be taking care of her in Peru from March 14 to April 29. Martha will be scheduled for her 4th chemo session this week. Amazon Mission Trip This Thursday our mission team will be in the Amazon! Everything is almost ready for them to fly to Leticia. Pray • For the Lord’s protection over each team member (health, safety, unity, and spiritually). There is evidence of a battle with evil forces. • For God to open the hearts of people and restrain spiritual oppression in Guanabara III, the small Brazilian village where they will be serving • For Juan Carlos Castellanos, Robbie Becker, and Yolanda Cardozo in charge of the group • For unity and good relationships within the team (students, staff & medical brigade) • For the medical/dental brigade • For the construction project as the team converts the dirt floor in the missionary’s home to a concrete one. Every place we have gone, we’ve felt appreciated and loved, almost like we were celebrities. All students, teachers, and leaders have made us feel at home, gifting us with wonderful food, strong hugs, bright smiles, and lots of dance lessons. Even through our team’s broken Spanish, we were accepted and understood. Basically, Bogotá is a beautiful city full of beautiful people. Lower Elementary continues studying the theme of responsibility through the parable of the talents. This week in small groups, students examined the heart attitude of each of the people who received talents in the parable. Second grade is learning all about water! We have made our own water filters and the students are excited to get more involved. Our class has begun to make magnets and sell them to raise money for Blood: Water Mission, which is a grassroots organization that empowers communities to work together against the HIV/AIDS and water crises in Africa. What can your family do? 2nd Grade Water Project 1. Pray for those who do not have access to clean water. 2. Talk about the importance of serving and loving others. 3. Buy magnets that the 2nd graders have made to raise money and awareness of clean water. The magnets do not have a set price, but you can get one with any donation. The magnet will serve as a reminder of the difference you are helping make in the world! To order a magnet, send in your donation to the school office in an envelope with Megan Yohe / Water Project on the outside. We will be sure to deliver the magnet to your child at school. If you have any questions, contact Megan Yohe, the 2nd grade teacher, at [email protected]. Also, if you would like to learn more about Blood: Water Mission or donate to our class page online, the link is: https://fundraise.bloodwatermission.com/ECA2ndgrade Thank you for supporting the 2nd graders at El Camino Academy and Blood: Water Mission. ECA Weekly Bulletin eca.edu.co Issue #34-26 | [email protected] Click here to see the school calendar for this month Main News Elementary Secondary FRI Mar 20 Classified Ads Part 4 Ievgen: Cuando lo sacamos del orfanato, decía…
