STUDENT FREE DAY - FRIDAY 11th MARCH 2016
The Governing Council has ratified the first Student Free Day for 2016. It will take place
on Friday 11th March. ALL North Ingle School staff will be working offsite along with personnel from other schools in the Montague Partnership. The professional learning of the
day is ‘Intellectual Stretch for all Learners’.

we have 12 or more bookings on that day.

School card must be applied for each year. School Card Forms were sent home in the Information Packs.
Early lodgement of applications would be appreciated as they are forwarded to DECD for approval and this takes a
few months. We recommend these be completed as soon as possible..
We would appreciate it if all payments could be made by noon each day to allow us to balance and bank.
Due to DECD end of month procedures, we are unable to accept ANY form of payment after 12:00 noon on the last
working day of each month.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
This year we have decided to give Junior School Council a new name and format. Student Representative Council
will be made up of a group of only 4 students in Year 7. These 4 students will be the contact group for student
voice in the school. On Wednesday, the whole school listened to speeches prepared by nominees for the Student
Representative Council. Following this, students then voted for their preferred candidate.
Congratulations to our Student Representatives for 2016 who are: Kimia, Jake, Amy and Emily.
We thank all the nominees who ran for the SRC positions and made speeches to the whole school.
Well done everyone!
JUST BRASS
How exciting! Students have had their first lesson during which time they were able to
try some of the instruments and then choose which one they would like to learn.
Band Practice will start in Week 5 Thursday 3rd March 2016. The children will need to
come to the office at 2:55pm and then will be taken by the bus, provided by the Salvation Army, to the centre for a snack and band practice. If you have arranged for your
child to return on the bus, he/she will need to be collected from the school at 4:30pm.
Please note, there will be no supervision by North Ingle staff for these students so it is imperative that parents be
on time to collect their child from the school or from the Salvation Army at Ingle Farm.
BREAKFAST CLUB MONITORS
Congratulations to the following Year 5/6 students who have applied for and won Breakfast Club Monitor
positions for 2016 — Kate, Chloe, Sharon, Declan, Eric, Mobina, Georgia and Hannah.
These students have already had a terrific start with breakfast being available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from
8:15am. We again welcome Martin, Mary and Enzo as our adult volunteers and thank Kickstart For Kids for their
support.
4/5 CLASS - MR. SPEAREN
For the past two weeks in the 4/5 Class we have been looking at the School Values, having a
Growth Mindset as well as Program Achieve.
Caring
In Mr. Spearen’s class we have been learning about caring as one of the school values.
Caring is looking out for other people and being nice to them. If you see someone is hurt
you should help them up, even if you’re not their friend.
Commitment
Commitment is about always giving it a try and not giving up. Miss Daley’s class once made up a motto
that was “If you don’t succeed at first, try and try again”. I think that this motto can help a lot. You
should always take part in activities even if you don’t like them, just to show that you’re committed.
Honesty
Honesty means telling the truth, caring for others and having a try at things. It also means owning up to
the teacher if you made a mistake.
Respect
Respect means including others, putting your hand up and treating people how you want to be treated.
It also means treating people’s property with respect.
Integrity
Integrity is doing the right thing even if no one’s watching and having moral principles which means doing
the right thing even when the teacher’s not looking.
By Georgia, Charli and Hannah
Growth Mindset: Our class has also been looking at having a positive mindset and working on
using the language that comes with it. Some examples include instead of saying “I can’t do this, I can try”.
