Lecture tours of the permanent collections of the Jacquemart-André Museum are suitable for all ages. They are a good way to explore the mansion and the dazzling collection of art: • Lecture tour of the Jacquemart-André Museum • Themed tour “The secrets of restoring a work of art”: a unique and fascinating tour of the techniques of art restoration. • Lecture tour of the Jacquemart-André Museum + the Palais de l’Opéra Garnier Audio-guided tour School groups can also follow the tour of the Museum by means of the free audio-guides. Teaching packs J Primary and secondary schools (6-18 years) The teaching packs allow the teacher or guide to create their own tour of the Jacquemart-André Museum. Two booklets are provided for each level: • The student’s booklet contains tools for preparing the visit, a questionnaire to fill in on site and a report sheet. • The teacher’s booklet can be used to prepare the visit in advance, to follow the students’ questionnaire during the visit and to provide discussion points for after the visit. The topics covered are: • For primary schools: the historical context of the Second Empire, the life of the bourgeoisie and great 19th century collectors. • For secondary schools (11-15 years): the historical context and architecture under the Second Empire, the life of Parisian high society at this time and great 19th century collectors. • For secondary schools (15-18 years): the lifestyle of the upper middle class at the end of the 19th century, the approach of the great collectors of the time and the social success of an upper middle class family under the Second Empire.
