www.StrangeAmericansMusic.com www.StrangeAmericansMusic.com Audio Biography Strange Americans formed in 2010 and began writing music deeply rooted in Americana, while remaining true to an innovative spirit. Classic guitars, an energetic rhythm section, three–part vocal harmony and tasteful folk colorings paint the soundscape of A Royal Battle, the full–length record released June 2012. The band was featured at Denver Day of Rock and the UMS in 2011 and 2012, joined The Knew for the annual Knew Year‟s Eve 2011, and appeared at Faceman‟s Waltz 2012. Strange Americans has shared the stage with acts including Yukon Blonde, Trampled By Turtles, Cory Branan, The Fling, Air Dubai, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Gin Blossoms, and Nick Urata (DeVotchKa). A Royal Battle was recorded with Grammy Award-winning engineer John Macy and the band is featured on Altitude TV‟s On Stage. It‟s fairly astonishing that A Royal Battle is Strange Americans‟ debut album… gracefully straddling a rickety picket fence of 1970s FM rock on one side and outlaw country on the other, teetering back and forth just enough to keep it consistently fresh and interesting. It‟s truly a wonderful album for such a young group.” Read more… Courtesy Listen Up Denver: It‟s not often that a local band‟s debut CD gets me really excited, humming along to melodies, and even singing it‟s praises, but that‟s exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago… do yourself a favor and pick-up A Royal Battle, it‟ll make you smile!” Read more… Courtesy Denver Westword: “A Royal Battle is certainly a release in which the members of Strange Americans can take pride. The group succeeded in injecting a lot of fervor of the live shows into the more rocking cuts. But it also had little difficulty reeling things in on slower tunes… After all, this isn‟t exactly your everyday, standard brand of Americana.” Read more… Courtesy 303 Magazine: “After establishing themselves as one of Denver‟s bands to watch through live shows… Strange Americans have finally released a full-length album. A Royal Battle is a soaring debut that mixes country, Americana and rock „n‟ roll to create a sound that is at once familiar and exciting. For a debut, Strange Americans have surpassed expectations. In fact, they may have put out one of the best local releases of the year.” Read more… Courtesy IndieBitches.com: “Strange Americans are what would be created if Lucero had a baby with Ryan Adams‟ album Fire and Ashes and had Springsteen playing while in the act. It isn‟t boring, it‟s not haphazard, doesn‟t drag, and most importantly it‟s put together very, very well. I suggest everyone check these guys out if a folky kind of rockish sound is something that appeals to you and if it isn‟t, check them out anyways because they‟ll probably change your mind.” Read More… Strange Americans have been featured on: ON STAGE on Altitude TV Mountain Size Records PRESENTS KLNX 107.9 FM Minturn Radio KRFC 88.9 FM Fort Collins Radio Radio 1190 AM Denver Boulder CPR OpenAir 1340 AM Visit Strange Americans on the web: www.StrangeAmericansMusic.com www.Facebook.com/StrangeAmericans www.StrangeAmericans.Bandcamp.com www.ReverbNation.com/StrangeAmericans www.Twitter.com/Strange_America [email protected] Strange Americans are proud to have worked with great folks along the way Venues Shared the Stage Bluebird Theater Hi-Dive Oriental Theater 3Kings Larimer Lounge The Goat Main St Grill Connor O'Neill's Del Norte Brewery Toad Tavern Spark Theater Forest Room 5 The Tavern Lions Lair Walnut Room Buffalo Rose Pete‟s Monkey Bar Skylark Lounge Cruisers Bar Dickens Opera House Mercury Café Meadowlark Three20South Cory Branan Trampled By Turtles Gin Blossoms Toad the Wet Sprocket Tonic Sister Hazel Yukon Blonde The Fling Hymn for Her Fishbone The Samples FaceMan Nick Urata (DeVotchKa) The Knew Chamberlin Events Denver Day of Rock The UMS Autism Rocks Children‟s Hospital Sunday Sounds Faceman‟s Waltz Bud Light Summerfest
