Tel. 01953 887303 Circuit Manager: Jamie Hooper in August despite the 30 second winners penalty picked up by Lee earlier in the season. The CSCC Tin Tops (with Dunlop Puma Cup) have been enjoying large grids all year, even at this late stage of the season there are in excess of 20 cars entered. Like the Modern Classics race at Oulton, pit stops played a key role in deciding the winner giving Paul Mensley his maiden victory in his Ford Focus. So he too has a 30 seconds pit stop penalty this weekend as does the Honda Integra of Nigel Ainge but joined today by Mike Jordan. Carl Chambers in his Peugeot 306 came second at Oulton so can he go one better today, as he did at this stage last season? The CSCC New Millennium is the newest of the Club’s Series with this being the second ever race, the first being at Donington back in late August. This Series is designed for post 2000 production cars based on very similar rules to many of our other Series. There is a real mix of cars today which bodes well for the series in 2015. Tim Davis will no doubt try and reverse his disappointment at Donington where he sat on pole but spent time recovering from a spin into the gravel. Saturday finishes with a Sports Car v Saloon Car race that excludes Lotus Seven type models. A large range of cars from the Smart Brabus turbo of Rob Baker to the Jaguar XJS’s of Lawrence and David Ball have entered. This will be a 40 minute, pit stop race and please listen to the commentator as extra entries can be taken on the day from competitors already entered in the meeting. LEAFLET DISTRIBUTION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED © MotorSportVision Ltd. 2014. www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk A very warm welcome to this, the second visit this year to Snetterton by the Classic Sports Car Club. As in many seasons past the first and last Race Meetings for Club have always been here at Snetterton, the track where it all started for the CSCC way back in August 2003. Today we are using the 200 circuit whereas we used the 300 circuit back in April and many competitors consider the 200 is more of a ‘flowing’ configuration unlike the 300 which has several tight infield corners. Saturday sees two races for the Tiedeman Trophy, named after Frank Tiedeman, founder of the Monoposto Racing Club and is a 4 race end of season series for any Monoposto eligible car together with an invitation class for up to 2 litre cars. The last two races were at Castle Combe two weeks ago where practice was conducted in very heavy rain which meant a damp track for the first race being won by Robin Dawe in his Formula Vauxhall Lotus who had sat on pole. Also on the front row was Oliver Sirrell in his Van Diemen RF01 and this was the finishing order for race one with less than a second separating them at the finish. Terry Clark had challenged the leaders briefly setting fastest lap by over 3 seconds. Race two was the same outcome but a much faster race because the track was dry with Geoff Fern grabbing third spot in his JKS TFR 11 and fourth placed man, Malcolm Scott in his Dallara F398 taking the fastest lap at nearly 97mph average speed. The CSCC Modern Classics (with Dunlop Production Cup for Porsche Models) provided exciting racing at Oulton Park last month with pit stop penalties playing an important part in deciding the winner who was Steve Cheetham in his Porsche Boxster. Will Sharpe in his Boxster came a close second at Oulton with Neville Anderson in his Vauxhall Vectra third, can they produce better results this weekend? Local racer and ARDS Instructor Paul Mather joins Lee Spencer in the no.123 BMW M3, supported by West Suffolk Racing. The pairing finished 3rd overall at Donington Park Awards are given to competitors as per Championship or Series regulations, or in the case of the sports vs saloon race: A trophy to the overall winner sponsored by TRACK DRIVER MAGAZINE. A trophy to the winner of the other classes and also trophies to second and third in classes subject to five and eight starters respectively. With the continuing success of the CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Series it has again been split into two groups, Group 1 for the slower cars and Group 2 for the more powerful, faster ones. This Series differs from the other CSCC Series is that no cumulative pit stop time penalties are given, instead the previous round overall winner starts their next race from the pit lane. Therefore Steve Owen (84) will start from the Pit Lane for his win back at Donington back in August so will this give Robert Cooper who is sharing the car today with Tim Abbott a chance as he came second at Oulton Park last month? The Group 2 race may well see the fastest times of the day as these very fast cars negotiate the Snetterton Circuit. Pascal Green will start from the Pit Lane after his win at Oulton Park last month. But surely the man out front will be Peter Ratcliff in his Caterham C400, chased hard by Anthony Bennett who achieved pole at Oulton Park but just couldn’t quite clinch that top spot. The CSCC Swinging Sixties is the Club’s most popular and oldest Series. Today’s winner will receive the Philip Wolfe-Parry trophy, a reminder of one of the Clubs stalwarts in the early formation years. Today Groups 1 and 2 are merged together but can the smaller cc cars spring a surprise? Several cars have pit stop penalties today, the Marcos of Ben Gough/Iain Daniels being one, trying to make up for its unusual non-finish at Oulton Park. Tim Cairns in his faithful Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite finished fifth overall despite having a 30 second pit stop penalty. Jon Ellison in his Triumph TR6 also did well coming third overall and must be in with a chance of an overall win but there again there are the Elans, who are possible winners if they remain reliable........ Another very successful CSCC Series is that of Future Classics. Unfortunately the race at Oulton Park last month produced red flags from a incident on the track with oil. The incident saw Nic Olson’s Lotus heavily damaged which has meant him missing todays race, although he will be back in 2015. Martyn Adams was also involved in the incident and it is likely he will make the grid today. Mark Chilton (79) in his Porsche 928 may well take pole position but with 60 seconds of winners penalties will have to driver very quickly to reach the top spot. The John Hammersley/ Simon Taylor pairing in the Vauxhall Astra will be looking to improve from their 2nd place at Oulton Park and will be going all out for a win knowing they won’t have to worry about carrying forward a winners penalty from this, the last round. The weekend closes with a Sevens-Type Challenge, open race which is another pit stop race and features many of the Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens drivers you will have watched earlier in the day. This will be my last editorial for the CSCC, the Club I proudly founded in my back bedroom some 13 years ago. It has grown to be the best motor sport club in the country, but then I am biased! I am sure with the team presently in place it will continue to give grass roots competitors the opportunity to race their cars. I shall miss everybody concerned with the Club especially the comradeship. I only have one regret in that when the Club was formed I knew every member, now the club has grown so much there are a number of you I don’t know on a first name basis. I am not retiring from the sport altogether, just taking on new challenges ‘across the Pond’. Richard Culverhouse, Chairman, Classic Sports Car Club We hope you enjoy todays racing. The Classic Sports Car Club will be racing again in 2015, check our website for information. WINTER RACE MEETING – SUNDAY TIMETABLE 4 www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk 30 Mins 30 Mins 30 Mins 30 Mins 30 Mins What makes the CSCC different from other racing clubs? We are a club first and a business second. Our committee is made up of experienced racers and officials and ensures that we provide our club members with the best possible racing experience at sensible costs. Strictly enforced driving standards – no-one wants to spend money on panel repairs Beginner friendly with a new driver ‘buddy’ system to help you through your first race meeting. With the exception of the Special Saloons and Modsports Series we have longer 40 minute or one hour races with a mandatory pit stop and 20 to 30 minute qualifying/practice sessions on the same day. Entries may be either single drivers, two drivers sharing a single car or a two car team (all at the same race entry fee). An overall winners penalty helps reduce the likelihood of the same car dominating at every round. Freedom of choice when it comes to tyres (from the MSA list 1A or 1B) and some other modifications. We allow a “Taster” round where the registration fee will be waived for the first round. How much will it cost? www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk QUALIFYING 09:00 CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Series, Group 2 09:40 CSCC Swinging Sixties Series 10:20 CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Series, Group 1 11:00 CSCC Future Classics Series 11:40 Sevens-Type Challenge The Classic Sports Car Club organises friendly club racing with an emphasis on great value for money and high driving standards. We drive at the best circuits in the UK and abroad. Whether you are a racing novice or you have experience with another racing club, you shouldn’t need convincing that racing cars on a track with other enthusiasts is one of the most exciting pastimes you might ever do. 12:10 Lunch – Racing will start at 13.10 in the following order R7 13:10 CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Series, Group 2 40 Mins R8 14:05 CSCC Swinging Sixties Series 40 Mins R9 15:00 CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Series, Group 1 40 Mins R10 15:55 CSCC Future Classics Series 40 Mins R11 16:50 Sevens-Type Challenge 40 Mins Well, Motor Racing is never cheap, but the club makes the track time you receive great value. The initial equipment costs can be quite high, but once bought the ongoing costs can be very reasonable. We have members who race on a shoestring and may only compete in one or two rounds a year, sleeping in their car/tent/ van/aunties house with no testing time, whilst other members stay in hotels and have a race team to look after them. We embrace every type of racer, as long as they are here to have fun. If you have been taking part in trackdays or sprinting and hill climbing then the costs to race are not too dissimilar once you have actually bought the mandatory safety equipment for yourself and your car. The cheapest way of racing with us is to share a car with a friend and so sharing the costs. Choose the CSCC races meetings which take place nearest to you, drive your road legal car to the circuit, camp overnight, qualify and race and drive home again afterwards! Doing this may cost each driver as little as £250 per event even taking into account the race entry fee, petrol and a bacon roll or two. Choice of car and car safety Your choice of car is a very personal one and is likely to come down to budget, what you may already own or what you are interested In. Most choose to buy their car outright or share the car with a friend (halving the costs), but you can also rent a racing car on a race by race basis from a number of teams that race with the CSCC. Take a look at our different series and their simple regulations to see where a particular car may fit in. An existing race car is usually the cheapest way of starting out, with a selection of cars starting from just £2000. Contact the CSCC club office who may be able to advise you of a cars suitability and eligibility. Before thinking of how to make a car go faster you must first make sure it is safe for competition. The MSA Blue Book (which you will receive as part of your racing licence application) is your bible when it comes to the safety requirements of a racing car. In brief, to turn a road car into a racing car you will need to fit a fire extinguisher, racing seat, harnesses, roll cage, electrical cut off, relevant stickers (including a novice cross) and a transponder so that each racing lap you complete is counted and timed. After this it is generally accepted that improvements to the brakes, suspension, cooling, tyres and most importantly the drivers skills (!) should come before increasing power. Driver safety In addition to the safety equipment your car needs to have you must also invest in suitable clothing, again the MSA Blue Book is your guide here. The CSCC has a discount directory which is sent to members, helping them to save money on equipment. As a minimum you require a suitable MSA helmet, FIA fireproof overalls, gloves and boots. It is recommended that you also consider fireproof underwear, a HANS device and wrist restraints in open cars. Once bought, many of these items will last many years if well looked after. Racing licence To compete in a race you must hold a valid racing licence. To get one of these is both fun and straightforward. Visit the MSA website, purchase a ‘Go Racing’ pack for £95, take a medical, book an ‘ARDS’ course with a race circuit where you take (and hopefully pass) a practical and theory test and send off for your license (first years licence fee included). Your first racing licence will be a Race National B which is fine for all of the CSCC UK rounds. To be able to race with us in Belgium at our Spa Summer Classic event requires a Race National A licence; to get this requires you to gain six race signatures, by successfully racing in different events. A days marshalling also gains you a signature, is well recommended and saves you money. Alternatively, if you would like to get involved in the action but don’t fancy racing why not volunteer to marshal with us? It’s the closest you can get to the action without sitting in the drivers seat. Marshalling is for anybody who is interested in and wants to be involved in motorsport. You don’t need any special skills or qualifications to start, just common sense and a reasonably developed sense of self-preservation. You will have a great day out as one of the ‘Angels in Orange’ and even get some money towards your lunch. Please contact the Classic Sports Car Club for any advice or help about how to get started with us. www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk Winter Race Weekend 5 No. Driver Races 1 & 4 (15 Minutes Each) Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship The Club The Monoposto Racing Club was founded in 1958 by Frank Tiedeman after he perceived a demand for single seater racing for the non-professional – the club’s original motto was “Club Racing in the Grand Prix Style”. It’s fair to say that while the cars have changed in every possible way over 56 years, the spirit hasn’t. The club still offers very cost effective racing which enables club racers to run a car retired from defunct commercial series (Formula Ford Zetec, Formula Vauxhall Lotus) which can cost less than the proverbial very second hand Fiesta, a converted Formula 3 car, or even a new build motorcycle engined car. Modification within our rules is generally encouraged, which leads to some ingenious solutions and, though we have far fewer homebuilt cars than in the early days, keeps up the spirit of the garage-based engineer championed by our founders. Our Series The Club’s main series run over 14 rounds and 7 meetings, at many of the UK’s leading circuits. We regularly attract more than 50 entries over 2 grids, and we have more than 100 points scorers over 6 classes. We don’t have an overall champion as we regard all the classes as hard fought, so each class gets its own champion. We also take part in “one off” events. A recent highlight has been the inaugural car meeting at the much loved Mallory Park circuit, organised by our long-term friends at the CSCC. We also ran a 50 car grid at Spa in Belgium, which is a “must do at least once” race for everybody. On a lighter note, the club is infamous for the fiercely fought Baking Grand Prix, for the best cake! The previous race at Castle Combe led to some spectacular through-the-field dices, and left the championship wide open because of the class-based structure. Sadly, some of the leaders aren’t able to be here today due to family commitments. Spotlight on the 2000 Class Keith Linforth and Malcolm Scott Keith is a very welcome returnee to Mono. He entered the Castle Combe race in Peter Venn’s Dallara F399. Having last competed in Mono more than 15 years ago in a rare Pacer Formula Ford, Keith started race one from 18th on the grid to rise to 3rd overall and a class win. He then had a good run to 2nd in class in race 2, from the very back of the grid. He lies joint 3rd in the championship with the hugely experienced Malcolm Scott, also in the 2000 class. He won’t have an easy task to lift the trophy because Malcolm Scott has won the Mono 2000 championship in the past and has been running his welldeveloped Dallara F398 for the last 5 years. Malcom has passed on the racing genes to his rapid daughter Jennifer, who is married to Ollie Sirrell, who had 2 overall seconds in his spaceframe Classic Van Diemen. It’s anybody’s guess who will have the upper hand but you can be sure it will all be sportsmanlike and good natured. Winter Race Weekend 7 RACE 2 No. Driver Race 2 (40 Minutes with pit stop) Saturday CSCC Modern Classics & Dunlop Production Cup For Porsche Models Modern Classics Race Report Oulton Park 20th September 19 cars were entered for the Modern Classics race at Oulton Park. This was the lowest grid that the series has had since its in-ception in 2013 and whilst a shame, it’s still a good grid by the standards of many club racing series in the UK. The weather presented a massive challenge in qualifying as the track started out very wet and greasy, only drying towards the end. It really was an exercise in survival for much of the session but quick times were established by most people before the end. One very creditable practice performance came from Gary Wardle in an R53 Supercharged BMW Mini. This was Gary’s first time out with the CSCC and the first time racing this car in 2 years - the nimble FWD car out performed many more power-ful cars in the tricky conditions. Unfortunately James Sturgess could not match the Mini with his Megane 225 being down on power. The race was thankfully dry and the Porsche Boxsters of Will Sharpe and Steve Cheetham put on a fantastic display of very close racing without touching once. I’m sure BTCC racers could learn something from this display. Try as hard as he might, Sharpe could not overcome Cheetham and the latter managed to eak out a 10 second advantage by the end to take the win. Neville Anderson proved once again what a competitive car the Vectra Challenge car is by joining in the early 4 car fight for the lead and eventually finishing third. Pole sitters, and previous race winners Smith and Moulton-Smith could not overcome their winners success penalty but did have the fastest lap of the race to finish 4th. Further down the field, the BBR Turbo MX5 of Black and Bailye proved fast but fragile and eventually cried enough on lap 13. Its fastest lap was 5th quickest overall, though, faster than even the Porsche 993 RSR of Dave Whelan. When the MX5 turbo is more reliable it will prove to be a real contender in this series. A normally aspirated MX5 of Andrew Szymanski and Barry O’Neill nearly caused mayhem at the start by stalling and got away last, but this gave the Porsche 968, 944 and 924S the chance of a real battle as it tried to come through the field. The MX5 eventually finished 12th. Winter Race Weekend 11 RACE 5 No. Driver Race 5 (40 Minutes with pit stop) Saturday CSCC New Millennium New Millennium Donington Park 30 August The New Millennium series will be a new series for 2015 which had its first trial race at Donington Park recently. Today sees the second trial race on this Snetterton race weekend. The New Millennium series is aimed primarily at racers from the post year 2000 era and it recognises modern trends in many club series, particularly one make series, by allowing some non-production aerodynamic aids and sequential gearboxes which are not routinely allowed in most of the other CSCC series. The series will also allow in cars from pre year 2000 that are also aero or New Millennium racer Bruce White tells us a little about his experience two months ago at Donington. Having completed our first ever race at Donington Park on 30th August, my friend, Darren Johnson, and I, Bruce White, have ventured into the wonderful world of racing. After many years of attending track days in various cars, the next logical step for us was to experience the thrill of racing, so we promptly booked an ARDS test and the journey began! I’m pleased to say we sailed through the ARDS test with flying colours and the next step was to purchase some cars, one for me and one for Darren. Clio Cup racers were chosen as our preferred choice and both cars were raced last year in the televised UK Clio Cup which supports the BTCC. Darren’s car, in particular, is the 2013 Championship winning car which was driven by Clio ‘ace’ Josh Files. Part of the initial struggle was to find a series to compete in as the Clio racers have a sequential gearbox and run on slick tyres so unfortunately that ruled out ‘Tin Tops.’ This is where the ‘New Millennium’ races appealed as they allow sequential gearboxes, although we had to convert to road tyres. After a number of test days to get used to our newly purchased cars, we were finally ready to race! My nerves truly set in as I arrived at Donington to set up for the big moment, I got to know the onsite toilet quite well within the first few hours! It was a steep learning curve on the day with signing on, briefings, scrutineering etc, but fellow competitors were on hand to guide us and point us in the right direction which we greatly appreciated. 12 sequential gearbox equipped. The series is ideal for cars such as the R56 Mini, Renault Clio Cup of all eras (two of which raced at Donington), Ginetta G40 and G50, Kumho BMW cars, Porsche GT3 and Ferrari 355 Challenge etc. The Donington race was won by Dean Cook in a TVR Sagaris after an uncharacteristic off in to the gravel by Tim Davis TVR Tuscan. Karl Azzat came second in a BMW E46 M3. Nigel Ainge and Mike Jordan had their second race of the day to prove how fast a Honda Integra is by coming fourth. Qualifying was quickly upon us and when I started to relax – after all there was no going back! A few familiarisation laps later and I was up to speed trying to get some fast laps in the bag. Unbelievably, I qualified fastest in class D with my teammate, Darren, 3 places behind with only 8 tenths separating us. Thrilled with the outcome of the qualifying round, the race couldn’t come soon enough – I was eager and raring to go! The nerves crept back in while I waited in the assembly area. Butterflies did somersaults I began to calm and laugh at the prospect of my first ever ‘real’ race! in my stomach and I had to hide my hands trembling, but thankfully following a funny conversation which George Wright, who was placed just in front of me in his Porsche 911, I began to calm and laugh at the prospect of my first ever ‘real’ race! He compared finishing your first race to losing your virginity – you’ll never forget it! Due to unknown circumstances the two cars placed directly behind me were missing from the grid, allowing Darren to drive www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk Class A 20 Dean Cook 22 Tim Davis 25 Bill Thompson 77 Christian Douglas Class B 8 Carl Owen 36 Mark Smith 76 John Danby The fastest lap times of the first four 4 cars separated by just 2.3 seconds despite their being several litres difference in some of the engine capacities. Being a strict one/ design class, our pace was very similar throughout the race but luckily a slightly quicker pit stop saw me exit the pits just in front of him and I managed to keep the position the whole way to the chequered flag! I ended up second in class with Darren a gnats chuff behind my rear bumper! The class win went to Ainge & Jordan in the mightily quick Honda Integra. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable event and the CSCC were incredibly hospitable. I didn’t expect to go home with some glassware but I did and it now takes pride of place on the mantelpiece! Groups 1 (smaller engined) and 2 (larger engined) share the track space today but will be fighting for individual overall wins on a full to capacity grid. Todays superb trophies are kindly provided by www.luzzo.co.uk Long term Swinging Sixties racer David Cornwallis explain the reason behind his BMWs unusual livery. Tom Pead asked me if I’d like to join him at a track day at Brands Hatch about 5 or 6 years ago when he owned my BMW 1600Ti. I have very distinct memories of being a bit too keen, having never been on a race track before in my life (not even as a spectator) and putting my foot flat to the floor out of the pits, not realising 1) how fast the car was and 2) that Paddock Hill Bend was coming up very fast indeed. I did manage to get round it the first time but only just. The day was such fantastic fun I bought the car and have been racing with Tony Hunting as co-driver for the last 5 years, exclusively with CSCC. The car is 1600cc, manufactured in 1967 and was delivered new in silver grey. It has a four speed gearbox and a limited slip differential. Our Radio Caroline connection started when I found out by accident that they were still on the air. I sent them an e-mail asking for decals for the BMW only to be offered some sponsorship. Those of you of a certain age will know that all the pirate stations played a very important part in pop culture between Easter Sunday 1964 when Caroline started broadcasting and August/ September 1967, the start of Radio 1. BBC Light Programme or the flaky reception of Radio Luxembourg! One hour of pop music was all the BBC played a day and they had people called “announcers”! And they wore ties! Ties! There’s loads of memories out there from USAF personnel based at Mildenhall during the Cold War to schoolboys like me and now also a lot of new listeners too all over the world via the internet. In the 1960s, coupled with the arrival of cheap transistor radios, these pirate stations had a very dramatic effect on British broadcasting and to be still on the air 50 years later is just amazing! See www.radiocaroline.co.uk My business rebuilds THWAITES brand construction site dumpers, selling them mainly in Africa. Brand new engines are fitted and we rebuild the rest of the machine and offer a 12 months parts warranty valid in overseas territories. See www.davidcornwallis.com We also supply In 1964 I was a schoolboy in shorts in Seaford, Sussex and watched from the stony beach with a small transistor radio my mother had given me as the original Radio Caroline with its 300 ft antenna sailed past Beachy Head on July 4th 1964 on its way to become Radio Caroline North moored off the Isle of Man. How exciting was that when the only alternative was the parts and rebuilds for MARLES steering boxes as fitted as original equipment to many classic cars Aston Martin, Allard, Daimler, Healey, Alfa Romeo (even Morrison milk floats!) See www.marlessteeringbox.com Tony and I are having fantastic fun with the CSCC and we’ve made loads of new friends. So many thanks to everyone. Cars producing over 185bhp will race in group 2. Overall winners through the year have been spread between class B, C and S, with exceptionally close but clean action up and down the grid. Expect to see cars following just inches apart, taking advantage of the leading cars ’hole’ in the air. Sevens handle superbly but are not blessed with modern day aerodynamics, making the skill of slipstreaming an important tactic on the Bentley and Senna straights. The Future Classics Series A superb series with a variety of 1970s and 1980s sports, saloons and GT cars I was looking to get into racing in 2009. So armed with Ebay I decided to look at what I could afford, and what would be good fun. For me it had to be: a) RWD b) Quite fast c) Parts easily available. I had a good think about a Porsche 944, BMW 325i and an MX5. But eventually settled for a two door BMW E30 325i. I was lucky and bought a good solid car for £650. It didn’t have a sunroof (good) and was in general good condition with very little rust. Ed, my good friend and I spent a weekend stripping it of carpet, rear seats, sound matting and any excess weight that was easy to get rid of. We then went to a track day at Bedford Autodrome and had a blast. I was hooked and wanted to go racing. But the car was very much lacking in suspension (very wobbly), brakes (now dead), tyres (now dead). And driving it home to London was no fun. First purchase was a new Brian James trailer, worth considerably more than the car. Then luckily I came across Adam, a mechanic, who was running a race car preparation business. I took the car down to him near Goodwood and left it with him. In the first year he got it race ready. He fitted roll cage, seats, harness, rebuilt the engine, Gaz Gold coilovers etc, and was great fun. That year we did about half a dozen track days, just getting used to the car. In 2012 we wanted to do the ARDS test and go racing. After taking our ARDS at Brands Hatch we gained our licences and were set to go. Adam was now my codriver and mechanic, it was and is a great team. We started racing with MSV Team Trophy but found it was not really for us, so after one year we joined the Classic Sports Car Club and its Future Classics Series. Everyone is more friendly and there is less ‘rubbing’ out on track. Each season we upgrade the car, as time and money allows. This aspect we enjoy just as much as the racing. The cars current specification is: 1. 2.7 litre stroker motor professionally built, M3 throttle bodies and adjustable ECU. 2. Black Art Design adjustable coilover suspension - this made a huge improvement on corner speed over Gaz Gold 3. Custom made anti roll bars - standard too thin 4. Glass fibre bonnet and boot, Perspex side windows and rear to save weight 5. Carbon fibre Tillet seat - because it looks cool (and is very comfy) 6. Custom made - exhaust, fuel tank, etc I tell the wife it owes me ‘just a tad more than £650 now..’ We now have a lot of fun, we are not a front runner and that is really down to us and not the car. We look forward to seeing you all at Snetterton. Our hopes for 2015 - to do some more racing and make sure we get to race at SPA! The race has a mandatory 1 minute pit stop. This rule is designed for the safety of the Seven drivers as they have a 6 point harness and wrist restraints in the tight confines of a narrow chassis which can make a quick, safe pit stop difficult. Entries for this race can be accepted from drivers early this morning so expect to see more cars entered than you currently see in this entry list.
