Location:
16942 RR 2341

Built:
Canyon of the Eagles (COTE) opened to the public in December 1999; the

with porches and rocking chairs to view the incredible scenery and Lake
Buchanan. Buildings were built with native stone, rough board-and-batten
siding, and corrugated metal roofs.
Land Owner:
The land in the 940 acre park is owned by the Lower Colorado River Authority
(LCRA), a non-profit utility company created by the Texas Legislature in 1934.
LCRA owns thousands of acres of private recreational lands in Texas with more
than forty parks, nature science centers, and nature preserves including
Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park (COTE), McKinney Roughs Nature Park, and
Matagorda Bay Island Park. The LCRA Board of Directors is appointed by the
Governor of Texas.
Resort Owner:
On October 15, 2009, Calibre Hospitality purchased from private investors the
LCRA land lease and building improvements that consist of 61 guestrooms
located in 16 buildings, the Overlook Restaurant, Eagles Nest Lounge, meeting
facilities, Live Oak Conference Center, guest services areas, housekeeping
laundry, and other designated improvements.
Management:
Calibre Management manages the
day to day operations within the
park including the accommodations,
food & beverage, meeting &
banquet facilities, lobby/gift store,
RV & campsites, 14 miles of trails,
Eagle-Eye Observatory, guest
programs, and the entrance to the
Park.
