Rialto Theatre Taking Survey To Improve
14- THE CANTON INDEPENDENT-SENTINEL/TROY GAZETTE REGISTER,LLC., CANTON PA 17724 • THURSDAY, MAY 26, 2016 • CLASSIFIED ADS (570) 673-5151 THE DAILY REVIEW, TOWANDA, PA DAY, MONTH DATE, YEAR Rialto Theatre Taking Survey To Improve The Rialto Advisory Committee has asked the community to participate in a survey to help the Rialto Theatre improve to meet the needs of theater-goers. The survey will be open until mid-June and one lucky participant who provides their name and contact information will be selected to win a Golden Ticket for the BCRAC theatres. A Golden Ticket entitles the bearer to free admission to any movie at a BCRAC theater for one year. “The Rialto Advisory Committee wants the input of the community so we can find out what we are doing right and what we can do to improve,” said Mary Beth Schoonover, a member of the committee and a member of the Bradford County Regional Arts Council’s Board. “We want to hear from people that come to the movie theater every week and we want to hear from the people who don’t come, as well. Maybe there is something we can do to encourage more participate in our little local theatre.” The survey takes about five minutes to complete and it can be accessed in hard copy at the Rialto Theatre or the Canton Independent-Sentinel’s Office or online at http://tinyurl.com/zrwr6c9 The questions in the survey address topics such as how often a person goes to the theater to see a movie to what sort of movies they want to see in Canton. There is also an opportunity for suggestions about what the Rialto can do to encourage individuals to come to the movies. “We hope people realize how lucky we are to have a movie theatre in a community as small as Canton,” said Angie Schoonover, a member of the Rialto Advisory Committee. “Over the past few years, many small movie theaters across the country have gone out of business and we don’t want the Rialto to follow that trend. We want our community to realize what a great resource this is and we want to provide services for them that they value so that everyone can enjoy the theatre together.” The results of the survey will be presented to the Rialto Advisory Committee as well as the Bradford County Regional Arts Council. The information will also be given to the gentleman who books the movies for the BCRAC’s three theaters. The committee hopes that the community’s honest answers about what movies they want to see will help better inform the movie booker’s decisions when he is tasked with picking movies for the Rialto. While the committee recognizes that not everyone will be happy with every movie that comes to down, they hope to get a better understanding of what movies will bring viewers to the theatre. For more information on the Rialto Theatre and the BCRAC family of theatres, please visit BCRAC.org or find Rialto Theatre on Facebook. One survey response per person, please. Quilters' Picnic Held in East Canton One of the many artifacts which Mrs. Moyer brought along was this very old thimble which was a gift to her from Emma Metz and resident of the old Bradford Co. Manor, which Mrs. Moyer's parents used to run. Betty told the story of how she was taught to sewing, crochet, and quilt by Emma. The thimble has a small hole worn in it. She was able to find happiness when she married her high school sweetheart, Moe, after many years. They have been married for over 20 years. Over 200 quilts were hung in the Troy Sale Barn for the Quilt Extravaganza, which was held on Mother's Day weekend.
