ACG2 Self-Test Button Function
A self-test button is provided on the control board of each Classic panel-mount air-conditioner. Simply pressing
and holding this button for 6 seconds will activate the self-test sequence as shown in the chart below. During this
test, the installer or technician may observe the air-conditioner for the expected function and duration, indicating
that all are operating properly. On completion of the self-test, the air-conditioner automatically returns to normal
running condition.
The control board is also outfitted with an Infrared LED diagnostic port. Optional software and an infrared / RS232
Interface cable are available from Dantherm, enabling the unit to be connected to a portable laptop computer. In
this manner, comprehensive and detailed real-time operational data may be observed, diagnostics run, and data
imported onto the laptop. Call for more details.

Alarm Capabilities
All Dantherm Classic units have built-in alarm capabilities programmed into the control board.
Failure Modes
The following conditions will activate the failure alarm output on terminals 7 and 8:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Loss of supply voltage
Low Pressure (< 10 psi for 300 seconds)
High Pressure (> 400 / 500 psi)
Low or no current to compressor (less than 1 amp)
o
o
High Return Air Temperature (18 F / 10 C higher than cooling set point)
o
o
Low Return Air Temperature (9 F / 5 C lower than heater set point)
Alarm Connections
The alarm cable consists of four wires:
•
•
•
•
Black wire:
Red wire:
White wire:
Green wire:
connected to terminal 7 on the control board
connected to terminal 8 on the control board
not used
not used
Alarm Description
Only the red and black wires are used and are connected to terminals 7 and 8 of the control board.
Terminals 7 and 8 operate as a normally closed contactor and open upon failure. During normal operation, a
relay is energized, providing continuity between terminals 7 and 8. When a failure is detected, the relay is deenergized such that there is no continuity between terminals 7 and 8. A low voltage signal (up to 50V DC and
0.1 amps) may be connected to the contactors for external alarm capabilities.

that all are operating properly.
