Simply pressing and holding this button for 6 seconds will activate the self-test sequence as shown in the chart below. During this test, the installer or technician may observe the air-conditioner for the expected function and duration, indicating that all are operating properly. On completion of the self-test, the air-conditioner automatically returns to normal running condition. The control board is also outfitted with an Infrared LED diagnostic port. Optional software and an infrared / RS232 Interface cable are available from Dantherm, enabling the unit to be connected to a portable laptop computer. In this manner, comprehensive and detailed real-time operational data may be observed, diagnostics run, and data imported onto the laptop. Call for more details. Failure Modes The following conditions will activate the failure alarm output on terminals 7 and 8: • • • • • • Loss of supply voltage Low Pressure (< 10 psi for 300 seconds) High Pressure (> 400 / 500 psi) Low or no current to compressor (less than 1 amp) o o High Return Air Temperature (18 F / 10 C higher than cooling set point) o o Low Return Air Temperature (9 F / 5 C lower than heater set point) Alarm Connections The alarm cable consists of four wires: • • • • Black wire: Red wire: White wire: Green wire: connected to terminal 7 on the control board connected to terminal 8 on the control board not used not used Alarm Description Only the red and black wires are used and are connected to terminals 7 and 8 of the control board. Terminals 7 and 8 operate as a normally closed contactor and open upon failure. During normal operation, a relay is energized, providing continuity between terminals 7 and 8. When a failure is detected, the relay is deenergized such that there is no continuity between terminals 7 and 8. A low voltage signal (up to 50V DC and 0.1 amps) may be connected to the contactors for external alarm capabilities. Simply pressing and holding this button for 6 seconds will activate the self-test sequence as shown in the chart below. During this test, the installer or technician may observe the air-conditioner for the expected function and duration, indicating that all are operating properly. On completion of the self-test, the air-conditioner automatically returns to normal running condition. The control board is also outfitted with an Infrared LED diagnostic port. Optional software and an infrared / RS232 Interface cable are available from Dantherm, enabling the unit to be connected to a portable laptop computer. In this manner, comprehensive and detailed real-time operational data may be observed, diagnostics run, and data imported onto the laptop. Call for more details. Failure Modes The following conditions will activate the failure alarm output on terminals 7 and 8: • • • • • • Loss of supply voltage Low Pressure (< 10 psi for 300 seconds) High Pressure (> 400 / 500 psi) Low or no current to compressor (less than 1 amp) o o High Return Air Temperature (18 F / 10 C higher than cooling set point) o o Low Return Air Temperature (9 F / 5 C lower than heater set point) Alarm Connections The alarm cable consists of four wires: • • • • Black wire: Red wire: White wire: Green wire: connected to terminal 7 on the control board connected to terminal 8 on the control board not used not used Alarm Description Only the red and black wires are used and are connected to terminals 7 and 8 of the control board. Terminals 7 and 8 operate as a normally closed contactor and open upon failure. During normal operation, a relay is energized, providing continuity between terminals 7 and 8. When a failure is detected, the relay is deenergized such that there is no continuity between terminals 7 and 8.
