There's an excellent · reason not to cut into your walls· and existing ductwork It'would only steal heat from the rest of the house and still might not heat your new room adequately. Instead, PEPCO recommends a couple of electric heating systems especially suited to a new room. Consider first the electric baseboard heating system. Compact units, available in many different lengths, fit along the outside walls on the floor. They generate heat and transfer it to the living area .by radiation and convection. All it takes is a little wiring and installation of the units themselves. You get-temperature control right in the room, and you can save money by simply turning off the heat when the room 1 is not in use.
