LS Hamburg Port Congestion June2014

Sehr geehrte Kundschaft,
wie Sie sicherlich in den letzten Wochen und Monaten der Presse entnehmen konnten, hat sich die
Verkehrssituation in Hamburg, insbesondere um den Hamburger Hafen, erheblich verschärft.
Bedingt durch aktuell anfallende bzw. demnächst anstehende Baumaßnahmen (Hamburger Deckel),
durch das unverändert hohe Abfertigungsaufkommen an den Terminals und Zollämtern, sowie durch
teilweise sehr lange Wartezeiten an den Leerdepots kommt es zu deutlichen, wirtschaftlichen Einbußen auf Seiten der LKW-Unternehmer.
Um auch trotz der widrigen Anfahrts-/ Abfertigungsbedingungen weiterhin den Hamburger Hafen
bedienen zu können, haben die LKW-Unternehmen und Reedereien in den letzten Wochen verstärkt
die Einführung eines
avisiert.
Wir bitten daher um Ihr Verständnis, dass wir in den kommenden Tagen bezüglich der Einführung
einer Port-Congestion für LKW-Transporte ab/nach Hamburg auf Sie zukommen werden.
Selbstverständlich werden wir die Gesamtsituation in Hamburg weiterhin beobachten, und diesen
Zuschlag bei Normalisierung der Umstände umgehend anpassen.
Wir freuen uns auf eine weiterhin erfolgreiche und vertrauensvolle Zusammenarbeit.
Dear valued customer,
as you may already have read in the newspapers in the past weeks and months, the traffic situation in
and around Hamburg – especially at the port of Hamburg – has changed significantly for the worse.
Due to current and upcoming construction works (e.g. Hamburg Deckel), the high operational volume
at the terminals and customs offices as well as long waiting times at the empty container depots the
trucking companies are facing intensive economic losses.
To be able to serve the port of Hamburg in spite of the contrarious arrival and handling circumstances, the trucking companies and shipping lines advised the implementation of a
surcharge in recent weeks.
Concerning the introduction of a port congestion surcharge for truck transports to and from the port
of Hamburg we kindly ask for your understanding that we will contact you within the following days.
As a matter of course we will continue to observe the general situation in Hamburg and adjust the
congestion surcharge in case of the normalization of the circumstances.
