Site archéologique du Vernai. L’Histoire de Saint Romain de Jalionas est très ancienne. Les nombreux vestiges permettent de
placer son site archéologique comme l’un des 5 plus grandes villas romaines du sud de la France. Les premières sépultures découvertes datent 600-500 ans avant JC mais les plus anciens vestiges sont attestés dès les environs 3000 ans avant JC. C’est au cours
de l’époque Gallo-Romaine que le site connaît son apogée. Le site couvre une superficie d’environ 6 hectares. L’église possède
encore des parties visibles d’une chapelle du IVeme siècle, à laquelle succéda une maison forte construite entre le XIeme et XIIeme
siècle. Depuis 1994, le ministère de la Culture a sélectionné ce site remarquable pour son importance dans l’antiquité et pour sa
permanence d’occupation.

Le Château Renaissance. Site classé du XVIeme siècle. de style Renaissance italienne. Le Cardinal de Tournon conseillé personnel
de François 1er a fait appel au génie du maître italien Sebastiano Serlio pour en dessiner les plans. En 1654, le château accueille la
cour royale et Charles IX y signe l'Edit de Roussillon fixant le début de l'année au 1er janvier dans tout le royaume. L'édifice se
découvre en visite guidée : les cours, les galeries, le grand escalier, les cuisines, les salles XVIIIeme siècle., la salle de l'Edit et la
chambre de Catherine de Médicis décorée de "grotesques". Tous les week-ends à 15h30 de septembre à mai et tous les jours à
15h30 de juin à août. Toute l'année sur Rendez-vous pour les groupes et les scolaires - ateliers du patrimoine.

Is the largest reserve in the mid Rhône valley. Many different types of land that have come from the oxbow lakes can be seen on
the observation walks and the ornithological observation point allows one to watch the birds. The reserve is full of life all year

Renaissance Castle. C16th Italian renaissance style historical site. Cardinal de Tournon counselor of François 1er called on the
Italian master Sebastiano Serlio’s genius to design it. In 1654, the royal court was there and Charles IX signed the Roussillon Edict
here which placed January the 1st as the start of the year throughout the kingdom. There are guided tours to visit the building: its
court yards, galleries, the large staircase, kitchens, C18th rooms, the “Edict” room and Catherine de Medici’s chamber decorated
with “grotesques”. Open every weekend from September to May at 3.30 pm and daily from June to August at 3.30 pm. Heritage
workshops are open all year round for groups and school trips through rendez vous.

Village de Littérature. Das Literaturdorf soll ein Beweis dafür sein, dass das Leben die Literatur inspiriert. Zwei Männer, zwei
Epochen und ein Dorf : Brangues. Die Ausstellungszone ist Claudel und Stendhal gewidmet. Die originelle Idee besteht darin, Paul
Claudel zu folgen, indem wir uns selbst als Schriftsteller, Reisende und Diplomaten fühlen.1827, ein Ereignis, und wir werden in die
Welt von Stendhals „Rot und Schwarz“ hineinversetzt. Eine erstaunliche Geschichte, die der Berthet-Affäre, die wir dank eines
Interpretationsrundganges entdecken.

Les Grottes de la Balme. Eines de sieben Wunder des Dauphiné. Die Tropfsteinhöhlen gehören zu den schönsten Frankreichs
und stellen gleichsam eine Zusammenschau aller dar. Einmalig in Frankreich ist dabei das Vorhandensein kleiner, noch „im
Aufbau“ befindlicher Bassins. Die lange Geschichte der Höhlen reicht von den Menschen, die die Höhle von Lascaux ausmalten, bis
zur Figur des Räuberhauptmanns Mandrin. Zudem bietet der Eingangsraum zahlreicher Animationen zum Thema der Entstehung der

Le Château Renaissance. Das unter Denkmalschutz stehende Schloss wurde von Kardinal de Tournon im 16. Jh. nach Plänen des
großen italienischen Baumeisters Sebastiano Serlio im Stil der italienischen Renaissance erbaut. Der Kardinal war ein persönlicher
Berater des Königs Franz des Ersten. 1654 hielt hier der König Karl der Neunte Hof und unterzeichnete den Edikt von Roussillon,
der den Jahresbeginn im ganzen Königreich auf den 1. Januar festsetzte. Eine Führung lässt Sie alles entdecken: Höfe, Galerien,
die große Treppe, die Küchenräume, die Säle aus dem 18. Jh., den Ediktsaal und das mit « Grotesken » ausgeschmückte
Schlafzimmer der Catarina von Medici. Führungen von September bis Mai am Wochenende um 15 Uhr 30, und von Juni bis August
täglich um die gleiche Uhrzeit. Gruppen bzw. Schulklassen können ganzjährig Führungen anmelden.

La mosaïque de la Villa de Licinius. Der Archäologiepark zeigt das größte in Frankreich gefundene Mosaik eines römischen
Speisesaals. Der 67m² große mehrfarbige Bodenbelag zeigt die Oceanus-Götter und befindet sich im Mittelpunkt eines

Site archéologique du Vernai. Die Geschichte von Saint Romain de Jalionas geht weit zurück. Zahlreiche Funde ermöglichen es,
hier von einer der fünf größten römischen „villae“ in Südfrankreich zu sprechen. Die ältesten Grabstellen gehen auf die Zeit von
500 – 600 vor Chr. zurück, während die ältesten Funde aus der Zeit um 3000 vor Chr. stammen. Seine Blütezeit erreichte die
Siedlung in der gallisch-römischen Zeit. Die Fundstellen bedecken ein Gelände von etwa 3 ha. Die Kirche weist noch sichtbare
Spuren einer Kapelle aus dem 4. Jh auf. An deren Stelle wurde zwischen dem 11. und 12. Jh. ein ein « befestigtes Haus » errichtet. Auf Grund seiner geschichtlichen Bedeutung und der Kontinuität seiner Besiedlung wurde diese außergewöhnliche Stätte im
Jahre 1994 vom Kulturministerium unter besonderen Schutz gestellt.

Cité Médiévale. Der Marktflecken liegt 35 km von Lyon und 80 km von Grenoble entfernt. Eine authentische mittelalterliche

Le Vernai archeological site. Saint Romain de Jalionas has a very long history. The many remains allow it to be placed as one of
the five largest roman villas in the south of France. The first tombs discovered date between 600 and 500 B.C. but the oldest
remains date from around 3000 B.C. The site became more important during the Gallo-Roman period. The site extends to about
6 hectares. The church still has parts visible of a C4th chapel to which a fortified house was added between the eleventh and twelfth centuries. This remarkable site has been chosen since 1994 by the cultural ministry for its importance in antiquity and its having
been still lived in.
