Claudia Hoppe hat sich auf Schmuck für das Handgelenk spezialisiert. Ihre Stücke können als
eigenständige Skulpturen angesehen werden, die durch die Interaktion mit dem Körper jedoch erst
ihre ganze Aussagekraft entfalten. Es ist dieser Dialog, der sie fasziniert und den sie immer weiter
mit neuen Arbeiten von minimalistischer Geometrie und leuchtenden Farben, als Gegenspieler zu
der organischen Linie des weiblichen Körpers, erforscht.
Claudia Hoppe has dedicated herself to making jewelry for the wrist. Her pieces can be seen
as autonomous sculptures, which only develop their complete force of expression through
interaction with the body. She is fascinated by this dialogue, which she explores through new
pieces with minimalist geometry and gleaming colors that contrast with the organic lines of
the female body.

Der Armreif hidden treasure ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes mehrschichtig: Ein neutrales Band an der Außenseite verbirgt eine Farbbotschaft, die nur dem
aufmerksamen Betrachter zugänglich wird. Durch das Verbinden zweier übereinanderliegender Edelstahl-Bänder von unterschiedlicher Länge wird die Materialspannung
des jeweils einzelnen Bandes um mehr als das Zweifache erhöht, was eine Verschlussmechanik überflüssig macht. Die Übersicht der Lackfarben finden Sie auf Seite 8.
The hidden treasure bracelet is multilayered in the true sense of the word: a neutral band on the outside hides a color message that only reveals itself to the attentive
observer. By connecting two steel bands of unequal lengths, the material tension of each individual band is more than doubled. An additionally integrated clasp becomes
unnecessary.

Die Armreife finden in der Trägerin eine Partnerin für einen spannenden Dialog zwischen minimalistischer Geometrie und den organischen Linien des weiblichen
Körpers. Erst beim Tragen entsteht ein Ganzes, in dem sich Gegensätze in ihrer Kraft und Schönheit reflektieren und eine ausgewogene Einheit bilden.
A dialogue develops between the wearer and a piece of jewelry while it is being worn. Jewelry with pronounced straight lines and the female body create a pair of
opposites. With its wearer, the bracelet finds a partner for an exciting dialogue between minimalistic geometry and the organic lines of the female body. Not until the
bracelet is worn is a whole created, in which the opposites are reflected in their power and beauty, coming together to create a well-balanced whole.

Der Einsatz moderner Technologie macht es möglich, klassische Materialien wie
Gold und Silber an ihr Äußerstes in ihrer Flexibilität und Elastizität zu bringen und
daraus Stücke zu fertigen, die ohne aufwendige Verschlussmechaniken auskommen.
Was bleibt, ist die reine Form, die den skulpturalen Charakter der Stücke ausmacht.
Using modern technology makes it possible to take classic materials to the limits of
their tension and flexibility, thus finding new solutions that make the pieces wearable
without the need for traditional clasps or fastenings. What remains is the pure form,
which gives the pieces their sculptural qualities.

The first stripes bracelet was shown at the INHORGENTA in Munich in 2005. Thanks to the seemingly endless possibilities to formally reinvent the bracelet, the range of
materials and colors, the convincing clasp and the pleasant wearing comfort, the stripes bracelet has become the centerpiece of the collection.

Neben ihrer ausführenden Arbeit als Schmuck-Designerin beschäftigt
sich Claudia Hoppe seit über zehn Jahren mit der Theorie über den
kreativen Prozess an sich, was auch Thema in ihrem Studium zum
Master of Arts an der MAD-faculty (Media Arts and Design Faculty)
in Hasselt, Belgien, war. 2010 beendete sie das Studium mit einer
Thesis und Installationen zu dem Thema How to materialize creative
chaos, wo es um die Erforschung des Punktes größter Kreativität
at the Edge of Chaos (am Rande des Chaos) ging.
Inzwischen ist sie an der MAD-faculty als Dozentin in der Abteilung
für Objekt & Schmuck angestellt.
In addition to her practical work as a jewelry designer, Claudia Hoppe has occupied herself for over
a decade with the theory of the creative process per se, which was also the topic of the studies that
culminated in her Master of Arts degree at the MAD (Media Arts and Design) faculty in Hasselt,
Belgium. She completed her studies there in 2010 with a thesis and installations about the theme of
how to materialize creative chaos, in which she explored the edge of chaos as the point of maximal
creativity.
She is currently a faculty member at MAD, where she teaches at the department Object & Jewellery.
