Es wird noch einige Tage dauern, bis Kathrins Gepäck auftaucht, also muss sie

Klar, Seife und ein Handtuch hast du, aber eine Zahnbürste brauche
Ich, eine Haarbürste, Schminke und Deo.
OK – a toothbrush, a hairbrush, makeup, and some deodorant. You
can borrow my toothpaste, of course.
Gut, also keine Zahnpasta. Aber ich brauche auch Lösung für meine
Kontaktlinsen. Wo kaufe ich das alles?
You can buy them in the chemist’s – in der Drogerie oder in der
Apotheke. If you don’t find contact lens fluid there you can go to an
optician’s.
OK. The other problem is that I don’t have any clothes. Ich kann
doch nicht die ganzen nächsten Tage im selben Hemd und derselben
Hose rumlaufen.
But it’s a nice pair of trousers! They look good on you.

OK, I agree that you need another shirt.

Ein Kaufhaus. They have all sorts of things there. I’ll go and put on
my shoes.

Oh, and remind me to stop at the newsagent’s, will you?

Vergessen Sie nicht – auf Englisch ist „die Hose“ a pair of trousers – ein
Paar, weil sie zwei Beine hat. Wenn man also nur von trousers spricht,
benutzt man auch den Plural. Das gleiche gilt für jeans, und auch für glasses
(eine Brille) und scissors (eine Schere).
It’s a nice pair of trousers. They look good on you.
Die Hose ist schön. Sie steht dir gut.
