Deshalb haben sich unsere Ingenieure bei der Entwicklung der i.NOVA Systeme nicht am Durchschnitt,
sondern an Ihren Bedürfnissen orientiert. Gesteigerte
Ergonomie, Sound in HD High-Definition Auflösung und
eine gleichmäßige Beschallung bis in die letzte Reihe
waren nur einige der Ziele.

resolution and a uniform sound reinforcement from the
first to the last row were the targets.
Schnell wurde klar, dass so ein bahnbrechendes System
nur mit völlig neuen und leistungsfähigeren Lautsprechern zu realisieren war. Durch den gezielten
Einsatz hochmoderner Komponenten wie Ribbon HDHochtönern und effizienteren Endstufen reduzierte man
Größe und Gewicht auf ein Minimum. Weniger Gewicht
bei deutlich höherer Belastbarkeit waren endlich
erreicht. Doch gesteigerte Leistung benötigt auch
stärkere Endstufen. Die revolutionären Leistungsmodule beinhalten digitale Verstärker mit maximalem
Headroom für noch mehr Dynamik. Der hochmoderne
i.NOVA DSP mit 96 kHz HD-Auflösung und PC-Anschluss
garantiert eine neue Klangdimension.
It soon became clear that such a breakthrough system
could only be achieved with completely new and more
powerful loudspeakers. Due to the use of advanced
components such as ribbon tweeters and high-efficient
power amplifiers, we were able to reduce size and
weight to a minimum. Less weight at a significantly
higher capacity were finally reached. But increased
power needs stronger amplifiers. The revolutionary
power modules include digital amplifiers with
maximum headroom for even more dynamics. The
ultramodern i.NOVA DSP with 96 kHz high-resolution
and PC interface guarantees a new sound dimension.

Durch die Bündelung der speziellen 3" NeodymLautsprecher in Kombination mit dem Wellenformer des
Ribbon-Hochtöners erzielen i.NOVA Säulenlautsprecher eine vertikale Abstrahlung von 25o. Dies
resultiert in wesentlich mehr Direktschall und einer
gezielten Beschallung mit deutlich weniger
Reflektionen und Diffusschall. Das Ergebnis ist eine
extrem gleichmäßige Beschallung des gesamten
Publikums und eine deutlich bessere Sprachverständlichkeit bei gleichzeitig geringerer Grundlautstärke.

Due to coupling of the special 3" neodymium speakers
and the wave-guide of the „ribbon“ high-driver, i.NOVA
compact line array cabinets offer a vertical coverage of
25o. This results in a much more direct and focused
sound with less reflections and avoiding diffuse sound.
The result is an extremely uniform radiation to the entire
audience and a much better speech coherence with
lower volume in general.

Die i.NOVA Säulenlautsprecher sind 2-Wege Systeme in
einem rechteckigen Gehäuse. Alle Modelle sind mit
einem Ribbon Hochtontreiber ausgestattet, der auf ein
Waveguide Horn (Wellenformer zur Bildung einer
Zylinderwelle) montiert ist. Die horizontale Abstrahlung von 100° ermöglicht eine breite Abdeckung
der zu beschallenden Fläche. Der MF/LF Bereich wird
über leistungsstarke 3" Neodym-Lautsprecher in einer
Reihe abgedeckt.
The i.NOVA column speakers are two-way systems in a
rectangular chassis. The cabinets are equipped with a
ribbon HF driver. This special driver is mounted onto a
horn (waveguide) to generate a cylindrical wave. The
horizontal dispersion of 100° enables an extemely high
coverage. The MF/LF section is equipped with high
performance 3" speakers (neodym).
Die i.NOVA Säulenlautsprecher sind flexibel einsetzbar
und eignen sich für Festinstallationen sowie MF/HFEinheit in Systemen. Die Gehäuse sind aus 12 mm
starkem Multiplex hergestellt, welches mit schwarzem
NOVA PolyCoat Speziallack überzogen und einem
stabilen Frontgitter ausgerüstet ist. Die rückseitig am
Anschlussfeld montierten NL4 Speakonbuchsen dienen
zum Anschluss (Input) und zur Weiterleitung (Link) des
Eingangssignals. Die i.NOVA Säulenlautsprecher
können an den aktiven i.NOVA System-Subwoofern IN
312 SUB bzw. IN 315 SUB als auch an anderen
Verstärkern betrieben werden.
The flexible i.NOVA column speakers suit for speech and
music applications as stand-alone fullrange system or
MF/HF speaker in sound reinforcement systems. The
chassis are constructed from 12 mm plywood (birch)
and covered with black NOVA PolyCoat finish. The
cabinets are equipped with a robust front grill. Two
speakon connectors (NL4) are mounted at the rear side
of the chassis for signal input (input) and signal link
(link). The i.NOVA column speakers can be used as
MF/HF component in combination with the IN 312 SUB
or IN 315 SUB active subwoofers. All models can also be
driven by other professional amplifiers.

Die aktiven i.NOVA Subwoofer sind mit leichten und
hochbelastbaren Neodym-Lautsprechern ausgestattet.
Beide Modelle warten mit drei kraftvollen 2 x 440 W
(bzw. 2 x 350 W) + 1.000 W Digital-Verstärkern auf und
bieten Anschlüsse für jeweils zwei Satellitenlautsprecher sowie einen weiteren passiven Subwoofer.
Die druckvolle Tiefbasswiedergabe hinunter bis zu 34
Hz (bzw. 40 Hz) überzeugt besonders. Der integrierte
High-Tech 4-Kanal DSP ist die Kommandozentrale der
aktiven i.NOVA Subwoofer. Dieser steuert alle
Schutzschaltungen, Limiter und viele weitere Funktionen. Dazu erlaubt der 32-Bit DSP die Speicherung
von 20 Sound-Programmen. Ab Werk sind folgende
Programme installiert: LINEAR, ENTERTAIN, ROCK, DJ,
VOICE.
The self-powered i.NOVA subwoofers are equipped with
a light weighted and high-performance neodym-woofer.
Both models are include three powerful 2 x 440 W (2 x
350 W) + 1 x 1.000 W digital amplifiers. The compact
subwoofers offer connectors for two satellite speakers
and an optionally available passive sub-extension. The
powerful bass reproduction down to 34 Hz (40 Hz) is
absolutely amazing. The integrated high-tech 4-channel
DSP is the command center of the active i.NOVA
subwoofers. It controls all safety circuits, limiters and
numerous other functions. The 32-bit DSP allows the
storage of 20 sound-programs. Following programs are
pre-installed: LINEAR, ENTERTAIN, ROCK, DJ, VOICE.
Die Eingangssektion bietet zwei analoge und zwei
digitale Eingänge (AES/EBU) im XLR-Format. Über die
Remoteschnittstelle (RS485) kann ein Computer angeschlossen werden. Mittels PC-Software können 26
Equalizer, vier Delays, zwei frei programmierbare Noise
Gates, vier HPF (High-Pass Filter), vier LPF (Low-Pass
Filter) und weitere Funktionen programmiert werden.
Alle Funktionen stehen auch am Bedienpanel auf der
Rückseite der Subwoofer zur Verfügung. Mittels 2Zeilen LC-Display und dem Bedienfeld können alle
Parameter geladen, editiert und gespeichert werden.
The input section is equipped with two analog and two
digital AES/EBU inputs (XLR). The subwoofers can be
connected to a computer by using the integrated RS485
interface. The PC-software allows the adjustment of 26
equalizers, four delays, two noise gates, four HPF (highpass filters), four LPF (low-pass filters) and numerous
more functions. All parameters can also be loaded,
edited and stored at the user-panel, which is located at
the rear-side of the subwoofers. The 2-lines LC-display
allows quick access to all menus and functions.

REMOTE SOFTWARE &
DSP SETTINGS
The DSP can be adjusted and controlled with the free PC
software. This software is a professional tool and enables a
quick and effective programming of presets in real-time (online
or offline). The program shows adjustments of any filter in a
graphic simulation. All DSP-functions and adjustments can be
loaded, edited and saved with this tool. The software is
compatible with WINDOWS 98©, WINDOWS 2000©, WINDOWS
XP©, WINDOWS VISTA©, WINDOWS 7© and WINDOWS 8© (all 32bit and 64-bit versions).

intuitiv und effizient online in Echtzeit (Real Time) sowie offline
erstellt werden können. Die Steuersoftware ist einfach und
übersichtlich strukturiert und bietet eine klare grafische
Anzeige aller Filter. Die Funktionen und Einstellungen können
mit der Steuersoftware geladen, editiert und gespeichert

PASSIVE 12" & 15" SUBWOOFERS
AS EXTENSION
Die i.NOVA Systeme liefern schon in der Grundversion
ein erstaunliches Bassfundament. Für noch mehr Druck
im unteren Frequenzbereich sind die passiven
Subwoofer als Erweiterung optional erhältlich. Optisch
und akustisch baugleich mit dem aktiven Modell, wird
das passive Modell mittels eines 4-poligen Speakonkabels (Pins 2+/2-) an den aktiven Subwoofer
angeschlossen. Die Endstufe im aktiven Subwoofer versorgt auch den passiven Subwoofer mit Leistung.
The i.NOVA systems deliver an amazing reproduction of
the low frequencies already in the standard
configuration. For even more sub-pressure, the passive
subwoofers are available as an extension (option). The
passive models offer identically dimensions and power
rating of the active ones. A passive subwoofer can be
connected to the active subwoofer by using a 4-pole
speakon-cable (pins 2+/2-). The amplifier of the active
version drives the passive version, too.

Die LION Aktivlautsprecher von NOVA überzeugen mit

Bauweise. Die Verwendung von hoch-wertigen
Komponenten, großen Schwingspulen und kompromissloser Class-D Hochleistungsverstärker ermöglicht eine
exzellente Klangqualität. LIONs leichte HightechGehäuse aus robustem Birkenmultiplex sind mit
strapazierfähigem NOVA PolyCoat überzogen. Damit
sind die Aktivlautsprecher für den täglichen Einsatz "on
the road“ bestens gerüstet. Die einzig-artigen NOVA
"ErgoGrip" Spezialgriffe gewährleisten den Aufbau auf
einem Stativ mit nur einem einzigen und rückenschonenden Handgriff. Durch die multifunktionale
Bauform und die drehbaren Hochtonhörner sind alle
Modelle als Fullrangesysteme sowie als Monitore

NOVAs LION series consists of three self-powered
speakers, which convince with high SPL and extremely
compact design. The use of high quality components,
large voice coils and uncompromising class-D amplifiers
provides excellent sound quality. LIONs lightweight
high-tech housings are made from robust birch
plywood, which are coated with NOVA PolyCoat. Due to
this, the speakers are well prepared for the daily use "on
the road". The unique NOVA "ErgoGrip" handles ensure
the installation on a speaker tripod with only one single,
backfriendly step. All models are designed into
multifunctional housings and offer rotatable HF horns.
LION cabinets suit perfectly as fullrange speakers as
well as stage monitors and can be used for mobile
applications as well as in permanent installations
(flyware on-board). The integrated "ProQ" equalizers
allow a continuously adjustable character.

Die UNION Series besteht aus zwei aktiven und zwei
passiven 12" und 15" 2-Wege Lautsprechern. Die
multifunktionalen Gehäuseformen ermöglichen die
Anwendung auf einem Lautsprecherstativ sowie als
professioneller Bühnenmonitor. Die robusten Frontgitter sind mit starken Magneten befestigt und können
für einen schnellen Zugriff ohne Werkzeug abgezogen
werden. Mittels Handschrauben lassen sich die
Hochtonhörner um 90° drehen. Durch den Einsatz von
Hochleistungslautsprechern und Hochtontreibern mit
2,5" Schwingspulen liefern die UNION Lautsprecher
sehr hohen Schalldruck für enorme Dynamik. Die
aktiven Modelle U12A und U15A sind dazu mit einem 3Kanal 32-Bit DSP ausgestattet, welcher Platz für sechs
Sound- und Delayprogramme bietet. Diese können
direkt am Anschlussfeld geladen werden. Mittels
Remote-Software und USB-Interface können die
Programme am PC editiert und gespeichert werden. Die
hocheffizienten Class-D Verstärker der aktiven Modelle
liefern 1.100 Watt RMS Leistung (8 Ohm). Dabei stehen
800 Watt Leistung für den 12" bzw. 15" Lautsprecher
und 300 Watt Leistung für den Hochtöner zur
Verfügung.
The UNION Series consists of two active and two passive
12" and 15" 2-way speakers. The multifunctional
cabinets allow the application on a speaker tripod and
the use as a professional stage monitor. The robust front
grilles are attached with strong magnets and can be
removed without tools for easy access. The horns can be
removed and rotated by hand screws easily. Due to the
use of high-performance speakers and HF drivers with
2,5" voice coil, UNION speakers deliver high sound
pressure for excellent dynamics. The active models
U12A and U15A are equipped with a 3-channel 32-bit
DSP, which provides a memory for six sound and delay
programs. These can be selected on the rear panel. The
programs can be edited and stored by using the UNION
PC remote software (via USB interface). The highly
efficient class-D amplifiers deliver 1.100 watts RMS of
power (8 ohms). The 800 watts amplifier powers the
12" / 15" woofer. The 300 watts amplifier powers the
high driver.

The NOVA VISIO series is a family of loudspeaker

Both NM monitors are suitable for fixed installation or
mobile sound reinforcement applications. The cabinets
are equipped with a 2" HF driver (3,5” voice coil). The

15" neodym speaker. The integrated flyware consists of
four screw-nuts (M10). By using the mounting Ubrackets (option), NM speakers can be installed or flown
at a truss. The integrated flange adapter (tube diameter

THE „PHYSICAL CORRECTION“
Die vertikale Anordnung mehrerer Lautsprecher in einer
Reihe ergibt mehr Reichweite und ermöglicht eine

Line array systems are usually a combination of different technologies.
The mid/high frequency range is covered by standard array cabinets. This
enables high reach. But subwoofers are mostly based on direct reflecting
or similar technologies. This results in different maximum reach and SPL
between mid/high and sub/low frequency range. The solution for the same
maximum reach along the whole frequency range: The ELITE family is
completely based on NOVAs „EHORN“ technology. All models including
subwoofers are fully horn-loaded.

THE PHYSICALLY RUNTIME-CORRECTION
Der Verlust der Linearität außerhalb des Mittelpunkts ist ein typisches
Problem von Line Array Systemen. Der sehr kritische Bereich eines
Musiksignals sind dabei die mittleren und hohen Frequenzen. Viele Line
Arrays klingen oft sehr „seltsam“, verlässt man als Zuhörer den
Mittelpunkt und „geht von links nach rechts“ vor dem System. Aufgrund
der Anordnung der Lautsprecher innerhalb eines einzelnen Kabinetts tritt
ein sogenannter „Phasing-Effekt“ auf. Misst man den Frequenz-gang im
Mittelpunkt (zwischen linker und rechter Seite) eines kompletten
Systems, arbeiten die meisten Systeme korrekt, da die Laufzeiten
zwischen allen Lautsprechern und Hochtönern, in einem Kabinett
betrachtet, gleich sind. Verlässt man allerdings den Mittelpunkt vor dem
System, entstehen verschiedene Signallaufzeiten. Dazu tritt ein
„Phasing“-Effekt sowie ein Verlust der Linearität auf.
Typical problems of line array systems are phasing and lost of linear
tuning. The most critical range in any music signal is in the mid and high
frequencies. Many line arrays sound really strange if the listener walks
from the left to the right side in front of the system / direct field. Due to the
positioning of the woofers inside a cabinet, line arrays typically induce a
so-called „phasing“ effect. Measured in the centre of field, most systems
work correctly, because the signal-runtimes of each component (woofers
and drivers) are the same. But measured outside of the centre of field, the
different signal-runtimes effect in phasing and loss of linear tuning.
NOVA´s „ECOX“ Technologie ermöglicht eine „physikalisch korrigierte“
Laufzeit an jedem Punkt im Schallfeld. Aufgrund der speziellen KoaxialKonstruktion aller ELITE Line Array Module und Mitten-/Hochtoneinheiten
sind die Signallaufzeiten zwischen jedem Lautsprecher und Hochtöner
untereinander sowie zueinander in einem Kabinett identisch. Das Signal,
von Mitteltönern und Hochtönern, erreicht den Zuhörer an jedem Punkt im

NOVAs „ECOX“ technology enables a so-called „physically corrected“
runtime. Due to the very special coaxial construction of all ELITE line array
modules and horn-loaded speakers, the signal-runtime between every
woofer and high driver is absolutely the same. Both, mid and high signals,
arrive the listeners´ ears exactly in the same moment. This results in the
so-called „NOVA ZERO-phasing“ and makes sure a linear tuning at any
point inside the whole field. ELITE systems offer a very accurate
dispersion in the whole field along the whole frequency range.

Wirkungsgrad deutlich erhöht. Ebenso wird dadurch eine höhere obere
Trennfrequenz ermöglicht. Die Luftmoleküle zwischen dem EPLUG und
dem Mitteltöner werden stark komprimiert. Dadurch liefern die ELITE
Kabinette wesentlich mehr Schalldruck im wichtigen mittleren
Frequenzbereich. Ebenso ermöglicht der EPLUG den Einsatz eines 15"Lautsprechers als Mitteltöner ohne Verluste im mittleren Frequenzbereich.
This technology is based on an especially calculated phase plug, which
works onto the woofer of the mid frequencies. The EPLUG compresses the
air molecules between membran and phase plug. This results in much
higher sound pressure. Based on this technology, ELITE speakers deliver
more sound pressure in this important range. It enables the use of even a
15" speaker without lost of the important mid frequencies. The crossover
frequency between mid speaker and high driver can be set much higher
then usually.

THE HIGH-EFFICIENT WAVEGUIDE
Seit der Zeit, als Line Array Systeme immer mehr in „Mode“ gekommen
sind, gibt es zahllose Konstruktionen und Designs von Wellenformern, die
eine zeitlich korrekte Abstrahlung der hohen Frequenzen ermöglichen
sollen.
Since the line array has come into vogue, countless designs revolving
around to achieve the correct time behavior at high frequencies.
In den meisten Fällen wurde versucht, ein korrektes Zeitverhalten durch
eine Vielzahl von einzelnen Schallführungselementen und Umwegleitungen zu erreichen. Eine geschickte Auslegung dieser „Umwege“ führt
oft auch zum Ziel. Die zumeist „abenteuerlichen“ Konstruktionen und
Schallführungselemente verursachen jedoch auch wesentlich höhere
Verzerrungen. Das Entwicklungsteam der ELITE Serie ging, wie auch
schon im NOVA AT 2 Line Array Modul, einen anderen Weg. Die
Wellenformer wurden so klein wie möglich konstruiert und dadurch die
Hochtontreiber so eng wie möglich aneinander gereiht. Dafür wurde
jeweils ein zusätzlicher Treiber integriert. Der Wellenformer jedes
einzelnen Treibers wird in nur zwei Umwegleitungen aufgeteilt. Das
Resultat ist ein absolut richtiges Zeitverhalten bei gleichzeitig geringeren
Verzerrungen. Die positiven Erfahrungen bei der Entwicklung des ATLAS
Systems sind dabei voll in die ELITE Kabinette geflossen.
It was mostly about trying a variety of single phasing lines to achieve the
desired time response. With the skillful interpretation also leads to the

EASE Focus 2 is a new aiming software for line array speaker
systems. The simulation in 3 dimensions enables an efficient
and professional planning of even very complex sound
solutions. The download of the software and the system
definitions for NOVA line array systems is free. EASE Focus 2
takes a large step forward towards more realistic modeling of
complex sound systems by including many new major features.

fully horn-loaded EH 15 speaker convinces with high
sound pressure and very clean and homogeneous
sound. The E 18 SUB subwoofer includes one 18"
speaker with a power rating of 1.000 W (RMS). The
special bass-horn construction enables very evenly
coverage. The powerful sub-bass reproduction down to
35 Hz is absolutely amazing.

moderner DSPs beträgt die Latenzzeit (analog zu analog) nur 0,625
ms. Alle Eingänge verfügen über 6 Equalizer (Low-Shelf, High-Shelf
und Parametric EQ), eine Delay-Funktion sowie einen schaltbaren
Polaritätswandler. Jeder Ausgang verfüget über 6 Equalizer (LowShelf, High Shelf und Parametric EQ) und eine Delay-Funktion.
Sowohl die HPF (High-Pass Filter) als auch LPF (Low-Pass Filter)
können in den Betriebsmodi Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth und Bessel
bei einer einstellbaren Flankensteilheit von bis zu 48 dB/Oct.

The DC4000 is equipped with 2 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs and

DSPs enables a latency (analog to analog) of 0,625 ms only. Each
input channel includes 6 equalizers (with low-shelf, high-shelf and
parametric function), and a delay function. The polarity of each input
channel can be switched from + to -. Each output channel includes 6
equalizers (with low-shelf, high-shelf and parametric function) and a
delay function. The HPF (high-pass filter) and the LPF (low-pass
filter) is part of each output channel. Both offer three different
operation modes: Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth and Bessel (up to 48
dB/Oct). Each output channel includes a high performance limiter.
The integrated flash memory chip offers space for 30 presets which
can be loaded via the preset-menu, three default-buttons or the PC
remote software.

Speakers are a complex and reactive load for an
amplifier. Because of the high damping factor of all
NOVA amplifiers, the EMF effect figures not during
normal operation. In case of a defective speaker the
energy could be sent back to an amplifier. This energy is
very high and could destroy parts like transistors of an
amplfier without back EMF (Electro-Motive-Force)
protection. All NOVA amplifiers are equipped with a
back EMF protection and protect from those damages.

Class-DH Switch Mode Power Amplifiers
with Crossover and OVP Power Converter
Die Modelle der XPS-Serie sind zweikanalige Class-DH Verstärker auf
einer Bauhöhe von 2 HE (Höheneinheiten). Alle Modelle sind mit
einem leistungsstarken Schaltnetzteil ausgestattet, welches eine
zuverlässige Stromversorgung sicherstellt. Durch den konsequenten
Einsatz hocheffizienter Komponenten wird ein geringes Gewicht der
Endstufen ermöglicht. An der Frontseite befinden sich zwei LevelPotentiometer mit Rasterung sowie der Netzschalter. Das leicht
ablesbare, rund gestaltete LED Display informiert über den Betriebszustand der Endstufen. An der Rückseite befinden sich zwei Eingangsund zwei Ausgangsbuchsen (Link) in XLR-Bauweise. Die Eingangsempfindlichkeit aller Modelle beträgt 32 dB. Die Leistungsausgänge
beider Kanäle sind in SPEAKON© Variante ausgeführt. Am Ausgang 1
liegt auf den Pins 2 (+/-) zusätzlich das Signal des Ausgangs 2 an. Dies
ermöglicht eine effiziente vierpolige Verkabelung von 2-Wege Lautsprechersystemen. Die Leistungsausgänge beider Kanäle sowie der
Bridge-Ausgang stehen ebenso über Binding-Posts (schraubbare
Klemmanschlüsse) zur Verfügung. Die Betriebsmodi Stereo, Parallel
und Bridge können über einen Schalter ausgewählt werden. Die
integrierte Frequenzweiche ist mit einem Hochpassfilter und einem
Tiefpassfilter (jeweils 18 dB / Butterworth) ausgestattet. Die Filtertype kann auf der Rückseite der XPS-Endstufen mittels eines Schalters
ausgewählt und aktiviert werden. In Stellung FULLRANGE ist die
Funktion der Frequenzweiche deaktiviert. Die schaltbare OVP
Impedanzanpassung (nicht bei Modell XPS 900, da Class-D) ist ein
Leistungskonverter, der mittels des OVP-Schalters auf der Geräterückseite eingestellt wird. Diese Funktion stellt sicher, dass auch bei
niedrigen Impedanzen die volle Verstärkerleistung abgegeben werden
kann. Alle Modelle der XPS-Serie verfügen über eine Einschaltverzögerung mittels Relais.

The XPS-series amplifiers are two-channel class-DH amplifiers at a
compact size of 2 HU (rack spaces). All models are equipped with a
high-efficient SMPS (switch mode power supply), which ensures top
performance and light weight. The front panel shows two gain controls
for easy access and the main switch. Two round LED displays inform
about the condition of the amplifiers. The rear side shows two XLR
input connectors and two XLR output connectors (link). The input
sensivity (gain) is 32 dB. Two SPEAKON© outputs and four binding
posts are mounted at the rear side. The SPEAKON© connector of the
output channel 1 (left) is connected with all four poles. This connector
offers additionally the output signal of channel 2 (right) at the pins 2
(+/-). This enables an efficient four-pole connection of two-way
speaker systems with one speaker cable only. The XPS-series
amplifiers can be switched into three different modesof operation:
stereo, parallel and bridge mode. The integrated crossover is
equipped with a high-pass filter and a low-pass filter (each 18 dB /
Butterworth). The filter type can be set and activated by a switch on
the rear panel. The function of the crossover is switched off in position
FULLRANGE. The XPS models are equipped with a switchable
impedance matching function (except XPS 900 = class-D). This power
converter can be set by the OVP switch on the rear panel. The OVP
function ensures that the amplifiers deliver full output power even at
low impedances. All models are equipped with a switch-on delay
function to protect the connected speakers.

CLASS-DH
Sounds like "Class-H" - Efficient like "Class-D“
Ein Class-H-Verstärker ist prinzipiell ein Class-AB-Verstärker, bei dem die
Versorgungsspannung in Abhängigkeit vom Signal verändert werden
kann. Bei Endstufen hoher Ausgangsleistung wird das Class-H Konzept
eingesetzt um die den Spannungsfall bzw. die Verlustleistung in den
Endtransistoren beträchtlich zu reduzieren. Die Spannungsaufstockung
ist bei Class-H Verstärkern in 2 bzw. bei höheren Leistungen in 3 Stufen
der Spannungsversorgung aufgeteilt. Nachteile von Class-H sind der
höhere Schaltungsaufwand sowie geringe Verzerrungen beim
Umschalten auf die höhere Spannungsebene. Die Wirkungsgrade von
Class-H Verstärkern liegen zwischen 60% bis über 80%, je nach
Schaltungskonzeption.
A class-H amplifier is basically a class-AB amplifier, the supply voltage can
be changed in dependence on the signal. At high power output levels of
the amplifier, the class-H design is used to reduce the voltage drop and
dissipation power in the output transistors considerably. The voltage
increase is split at class-H amplifiers in 2 or 3 stages in the power supply.
Disadvantages of class-H are the higher circuit complexity and low
distortion when switching to the higher voltage level. The efficiencies of
class-H amplifiers are between 60% to over 80%, depending on the
circuit design.

Dynamisch-adaptiver Spannungsregler
Class-DH ist die Evolution der Class-H Technologie. Class-DH verfügt über
alle Vorteile der Class-H Technologie. Das Umschalten in die höhere
Spannung(en) entfällt dabei jedoch gänzlich. Class-DH Verstärker sind
mit einem dynamisch-adaptiven Spannungsregler ausgestattet, der die
Versorgungsspannung stufenlos regelt. Damit entfallen die bei Class-H
Verstärkern üblicherweise auftretenden Verzerrungen beim Umschalten
auf die höhere Versorgungsspannung. Die Wirkungsgrade der Class-DH
Verstärker liegen bei weit über 90 % (Vollast).
Dynamic adaptive voltage regulator
Class-DH is the evolution of the class-H technology. Class-DH has all the
advantages of the class-H technology, but without switching to any higher
or lower voltage level(s). Class-DH amplifiers are equipped with a
dynamic adaptive voltage regulator that regulates the supply voltage
continuously. The usually occuring distortion when switching to the
higher supply voltage, is typically for class-H amplfiers. This kind of
distortion does not occur in class-DH amplifiers at all. The efficiencies of
the class-DH amplifiers are over 90% at full load.

OVP POWER CONVERTER
Full Output Power at any Impedance
In der Theorie gibt ein Verstärker, der 500 Watt an einer 8-Ohm-Last
abgibt analog zum Ohmschen Gesetz 2.000 Watt an einer 2-Ohm-Last ab.
Viele Endstufen liefern in der Praxis jedoch nur 65%-77% der
theoretischen 4-Ohm-Leistung an 2 Ohm. Die daraus resultierenden
Verluste stammen aus dem Spannungsnetzteil sowie aus den Strombegrenzungen der Ausgangsstufen. Durch die Strombegrenzung in der
Ausgangsstufe werden zusätzliche Verzerrzungen erzeugt, was mit dem
Impedanzverlauf des angeschlossenen Lautsprechers zu tun hat. Der
Lautsprecher stellt für den Verstärker eine Blindlast dar. Ein großer Teil
der Energie gelangt zurück in die Endstufe und kann unter Umständen die
Strom-Schutzschaltung (Strombegrenzung) extern ansprechen.
In theory, an amplifier that delivers 500 watts into an 8-ohm load, offers
analogous to Ohm's law 2.000 watts to a 2-ohm load. In practice, many
amps deliver 65% -77% of the theoretical 4-ohm power at 2 ohms only.
The resulting losses come from the voltage power supply and from the
current limitations of the output stages. The current limiter in the output
stage generates additional distortion, which has to do with the impedance
curve of the loudspeaker connected. The speaker represents a dummy
load to the amplifier. A large part of the energy is returned to the amplifier
and may activate the current protection circuit (current limiter)
externally.
Der OVP Power-Converter
Die NOVA Over-Voltage-Protection (OVP) ist ein spezieller Leistungskonverter, der mehr Strom abgeben kann als er zuvor aus dem Netzteil
aufgenommen hat. Somit steht auch bei niedrigen Impedanzen die
benötigte Strommenge zur Verfügung. Um eine höhere Impedanz
anzusteuern (z.B. ein Lautsprecher mit einer Impedanz von 8 Ohm) wird
eine höhere Spannung benötigt. Mittels des OVP-Schalters (nicht bei XPS
900) kann der Anwender die NOVA XPS-Endstufen auf die Impedanz des
tatsächlich angeschlossenen Lautsprechers anpassen.
The OVP Power Converter
The NOVA Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) is a special power converter that
can deliver more power than it has previously taken from the power
supply. Due to this, it delivers the required current even at lower
impedances. To drive a higher impedance (such as a speaker with an
impedance of 8 ohms) a higher voltage is required. Using the OVP switch
(not in XPS 900 model), the user can adjust the NOVA XPS amplifiers
exactly to the impedance of the loudspeaker connected.

INTEGRATED CROSSOVER
For high Flexibility and Efficiency
Bei größeren und komplexeren Lautsprechersystemen empfiehlt sich die
Verwendung eines digitalen Lautsprecher-Management-Systems,
welches unter Anderem die Funktion einer Frequenzweiche übernimmt.
Bei kleineren Systemen wie beispielsweise ein System aus zwei 18"Subwoofern und zwei 2-Wege Mittel-/Hochtonlautsprechern ist man als
Anwender, Installateur oder im Rental-Geschäft oftmals auf
Kosteneffizienz und Flexibilität angewiesen. Alle NOVA XPS-Verstärker
sind daher mit einem Hochpassfilter (120 Hz / 18 dB / Butterworth) und
einem Tiefpassfilter (120 Hz / 18 dB / Butterworth) ausgestattet. Die
Filtertype kann auf der Rückseite der XPS-Endstufen mittels eines
Schalters ausgewählt und aktiviert werden. In Stellung FULLRANGE ist
die Frequenzweichen-funktion deaktiviert.
For larger and more complex speaker systems, we recommend using a
digital loudspeaker management system, which takes over the function of
a crossover. For smaller systems, such as a system consisting of two 18"
subwoofers and two 2-way mid/high loudspeakers, the users often rely on
cost efficiency and flexibility. Therefore, all NOVA XPS amplifiers are
equipped with a high pass filter (120 Hz / 18 dB / Butterworth) and a lowpass filter (120 Hz / 18 dB / Butterworth). The filter type can be selected
on the rear side of the XPS amplifiers by using a switch. The crossover
function is disabled in position FULLRANGE.

Stromnetz liefert (~230V +/-10%). Das speziell für die NOVA Class-DH
Endstufentechnologie entwickelte Netzteil stellt eine stabile Stromversorgung für druckvolle und kompromisslose Leistung auch unter
Volllast und niedrigen Impedanzen sicher. Durch den Einsatz dieses
hocheffizienten Netzteils ist dazu ein sehr geringes Gewicht der XPSEndstufen erzielt worden.

Die Modelle der DXP-Serie sind zweikanalige Verstärker auf einer
Bauhöhe von 2 HE (Höheneinheiten).
The DXP-series amplifiers are two-channel amplifiers at a compact
size of 2 HU (rack spaces).
An der Frontseite befinden sich zwei versenkte Level-Potentiometer
mit Rasterung sowie der Netzschalter. Das leicht ablesbare LED
Display informiert über den Betriebszustand der Endstufen. An der
Rückseite befinden sich zwei Eingangs-buchsen und 2 Ausgangsbuchsen (Link) in XLR Bauweise. Die Eingangsempfindlichkeit aller
Modelle der DXP-Serie kann mittels eines Schalters auf 1,4 Volt, 32 dB
und 26 dB eingestellt werden. Die Leistungsausgänge beider Kanäle
sind in SPEAKON© Variante ausgeführt. Am Ausgang 1 liegt auf den
Pins 2 (+/-) zusätzlich das Signal des Ausgangs 2 an. Dies ermöglicht
eine vierpolige Verkabelung von 2-Wege Lautsprechersystemen. Die
Betriebsmodi Stereo, Parallel und Bridge können über einen Schalter
ausgewählt werden. Der Limiter kann an einem Schalter pro
Ausgangskanal getrennt ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden. Alle Modelle
der DXP-Serie verfügen über eine Einschalt-verzögerung mittels
Relais, welche das Ansprechen von Netzsicherungen verhindern.
Ebenso werden die Leistungsausgänge verzögert zuge-schaltet.
The front panel shows two gain controls for easy access and the main
switch. The LED display informs about the condition of the amplifiers.
The rear side shows two XLR input connectors and two XLR output
connectors (link). The input sensivity (gain) can be switched in
following modes: 1.4 volts, 32 dB and 26 dB. Two SPEAKON© outputs
are mounted at the rear side. The SPEAKON© connector of output 1
(left) is connected at all four poles. This connector offers the output
signal of channel 2 (right) at the pins 2 (+/-). This enables a four-pole
connection of two-way speaker systems with one speaker cable only.
The DXP-series amplifiers can be switched into three different
operation modes: stereo, parallel and bridge mode. The independent
limiters can be switched on or off. All models are equipped with a
switch-on delay to protect the connected speakers.

Die DXI8200 ist ein 8-Kanal Verstärker auf einer Bauhöhe von 2 HE

The DXI8200 is a 8-channel power amplifier at a compact size of 2 HU
(rack spaces).
An der Frontseite befinden sich 8 versenkte Level-Potentiometer, 8
Mute-Schalter sowie der Netzschalter. Das leicht ablesbare LED
Display informiert über den Betriebszustand der Endstufen. An der
Rückseite befinden sich 8 Eingangsbuchsen und 8 Ausgangsbuchsen.
Die Eingangsempfindlichkeit der DXI8200 beträgt 32 dB. Die
Leistungsausgänge aller Kanäle sind in Barrier Strip Variante
ausgeführt. Im teilgebrückten Modus leistet die DXI8200 insgesamt 2
x 400 Watt plus 4 x 200 Watt RMS (4 Ohm). Die Betriebsmodi Stereo,
Parallel und Bridge können über vier Schalter an der Geräterückseite
ausgewählt werden. Die DXI8200 verfügt über eine Einschaltverzögerung mittels Relais, welche das Ansprechen von Netzsicherungen verhindern. Ebenso werden die Leistungsausgänge
verzögert zugeschaltet.
