Die Technologie: UV-Schutz
Auch wenn grundsätzlich jede Bekleidung einen gewissen Sonnenschutz bietet – nur geprüfte Stoffe geben Sicherheit. Schädliche
UV-Strahlen können manche Textilien fast ungehindert passieren.
Das dicht gewebte Material ­unserer viavesto® -Bekleidung bietet
einen UPF (engl. Kürzel für „Ultraviolet Protection Factor“) von
50 + und ist damit als Sonnenschutzbekleidung klassifiziert – ohne
Einsatz chemischer Ausrüstungen, die in der Regel nach einigen
Wäschen nachlassen.

Gegen Moskitos: Stichfest!
Der Saugrüssel einer Stechmücke ist 0,1 Millimeter dünn. Fast jeder
weiß aus eigener Erfahrung: Socken, T-Shirts und selbst Jeans sind
für Mücken kein Hindernis. Unser spezielles Mischgewebe aus 74 %
Polyamid und 26 % Baumwolle ist so fein gewebt, dass Moskitos
nicht hindurchstechen können – so schützen unsere Stoffe ohne
chemische Ausrüstung. Trotzdem sind sie leicht, schnell trocknend
und damit bestens für tropische Regionen geeignet.

Children should be equally equipped and protected from the
elements as their parents are. This is why our kids collection
Criansa offers all the mindful features that are essential for
travelling in warmer regions.
Full mobility; half buttoned slip-on shirts with roll-up sleeves
and effective venting system; pants with elastic waistband,
zip-off legs and roomy side pockets. Coolmax® Mesh inserts
in chest, back and seat areas create a circular venting system
that reminds of the traditional clothing of the nomadic desert
tribe, the Tuaregs.
The Technology: UV protection
Although any clothing layer adds some protection to your bare
skin, only certified material guarantees skin damage prevention.
Loose weaves can let UV rays pass.
Our viavesto® garments are based on a tightly woven material
with the maximum UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) of 50 +. It is
classified as sun protection clothing without any chemical finish
(that usually decreases after several washings).
Mosquito Protection: Too tight to bite!
The mosquito proboscis probes through almost anything as we all
know from our own experience: socks, shirts, and even denim does
not stop mosquitoes. However, our special blend material (74 %
Polyamide, 26 % cotton) is so tightly woven, mosquitoes cannot
bite through it: The viavesto® mechanical mosquito protection.
Yet our garments are lightweight and quick drying – perfect even
for travelling in tropical regions.

we are inspired by Portuguese travellers and explorers like Gil Eanes,
who in the early 15th century was the first European to sail beyond
the dreaded Cape Bojador in Marocco – and to return. Or Pedro
Álvares Cabral (possibly the first globetrotter in the world): he visited
four continents.

Als wir die Marke viavesto® ins Leben riefen, wollten wir die
richtige Bekleidung für abenteuerlustige Menschen machen
– nicht mehr und nicht weniger! Wir machten uns auf den
Weg und fanden unsere Wurzeln in Portugal.
Hier produzieren wir jetzt unsere Reisebekleidung in der Nähe
der Hafenstadt Porto in unserem eigenen Betrieb – und hier
lassen wir uns inspirieren vom Entdeckergeist und der Reiselust
unserer Vorfahren.
Unkompliziert, mit allen wichti­­gen Details für lange Reisen
ausge­stattet, nachhaltig und in Europa produziert – das ist

Who we are!
When we started viavesto®, we wanted to offer the perfect
travel clothing for adventure seekers – no more, no less! We
looked for the right foundation – and we came back to our
roots in Portugal.
Here, close to the harbour town of Porto, we produce our
garments in our own sewing factory – and here we find our
inspiration: the exploratory spirit of our ancestors.

Unbeschwertes Reisen heißt: sich um seine Bekleidung am wenigsten
kümmern zu müssen. Wir statten unsere Hemden und Hosen mit allen
wichtigen Features aus, die unter anderem für Reisen in warme Länder
wichtig sind: Zip-Off Hosenbeine und Krempelärmel; große Taschen mit
inte­grierter Sicherheitstasche; variable, effektive Belüftungssysteme und
beste ­Bewegungsfreiheit dank integrierter Zwickel.

versionen.
Easy travelling means not to have to worry about your clothing. Our
shirts and trousers are equipped with all the important features you
need for travelling in warm countries like: Zip-off legs and roll-up
sleeves; roomy pockets with integrated safety pocket; variable,
effective ventilation systems and perfect freedom of movement
thanks to gussets. For extra ventilation, we have integrated Coolmax® Mesh material in the shirt’s front and back as well as the
pant’s rear saddle area. The construction creates an air circulation
system similar to the one invented by the Tuareg.
