Following the success of SSD’01 held in Hammamet-Tunisia, the thirteenth International MultiConference on Systems, Signals and Devices - SSD’16 to be held at Leipzig, Germany, from 21st
to the 24th of March 2016. The conference program consists of 3 plenary sessions, 6 Keynote
Lectures and 24 oral sessions. SSD’16 multi-conference is organized to include 5 conferences
covering different fundamental and applied aspects:
1. “Int. Conf. on Systems, Automation & Control”
(SAC)
2. “Int. Conf. on Conference on Power Systems & Smart Energies”
(PSE)
3. “Int. Conf. on Communication, Signal Processing & Information Technology”
(CSP)
4. “Int. Conf. on Sensors, Circuits and Instrumentation Systems”
(SCI)
5. “Int. Conf. on International Conference on Micro & Nano Electronic Systems” (MiNE)
SSD’16 secretariat has received 178 submissions from 19 countries: Algeria, Belgium, France,
Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Korea, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, P.R. China, Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Spain, Tunisia, United Kingdom and USA.
Each paper has been reviewed by at least two reviewers of the program committee which
consisted of more than 100 scientists from more than 30 countries. Only 135 papers have been
accepted.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to all chairs and members of the program committee
for their substantial reviews. Special thanks are due to all members of the organizing committees
for their determination to make this event a promising success.
Finally, we would like to extend our deep gratitude to all those who have contributed to the

General Informations
Date and Location
Considered one of the most dynamic European cities, Leipzig truly stands out in East Germany.
Almost a thousand years old, this proud Saxon city of about half a million residents, many of
them students at one of Leipzig’s seven colleges and universities, is rich in history, culture and
natural beauty. Also known as Heldenstadt, or the City of Heroes, Leipzig was the centre of
revolt against the Communist regime in East Germany, culminating in a non-violent revolution
that forced the collapse of the Wall in 1989.
Since then, Leipzig has (re-)emerged as one of Germany’s cultural and economic powerhouses.
The historical city centre has been beautifully renovated, featuring picturesque alleys and larger
pedestrian areas lined with fashionable shops, restaurants, coffee shops and clubs. Leipzig has
evolved into an automobile and industrial hub, with major companies such as BMW, Porsche
and Siemens opening production facilities here. More recently, the city has also become one
of Europe’s most important logistics centres: Amazon and DHL, for example, have some of
their largest operations in Leipzig. The famous Leipzig Trade Fair, which began in the Middle
Ages, is the oldest trade fair in the world. Moreover, Leipzig boasts a long tradition of book
publishing and production. Today the Leipzig Book Fair, which started in the seventeenth
century, is the second largest in Germany after Frankfurt/Main.
For centuries, Leipzig has also been a major force in music and the arts, nurturing some
of Germany’s most well-known classical composers, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix
Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and Robert and Clara Schumann. Today, the venerable ’City of Music’, with its world-famous Gewandhaus Orchestra and St. Thomas Choir, is also the place
where some of the most innovative house and techno music is being created. On weekends,
there is never a shortage of parties or events, often taking place in one of the many abandoned
factory buildings that now attract creative entrepreneurs, artists and musicians, who are reclaiming these old spaces. Many of these venues are located in the Connewitz and Südvorstadt
neighbourhoods, not far from the HTWK Leipzig campus.
Getting around in Leipzig is easy. All parts of the city are well served by public transport:
in addition to the existing bus and tram services, an underground railway line was completed
in December 2013. Biking is a popular alternative, especially among students, and with more
than 300km of bike lanes, Leipzig ranks among Germany’s most bike-friendly cities. Starting
from Leipzig Central Station, arguably one of Europe’s largest and finest railway terminals,
other interesting destinations such as Dresden or Berlin are only a short train ride away.
Venue
Leipzig University of Applied Sciences: Nieper-Bau
The Nieper-Bau is one of the new Buildings at the HTWK Campus. It was opened in April
2015. Under the project management of the state enterprise Saxon Property and Construction
Management (SIB) is a six-storey building originated with a usable area of 5,440 square meters.
On the ground floor and in part of the basement there is a large experimental auditorium,
experimental halls with special technical requirements as well as an experimental workshop.
The building at the Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse is part of an urban development and responds in
its building-cubature to the adjacent buildings, especially the opposite Lipsius building. The
facade consists of brightly painted metal panels that are part of a highly insulated ventilated
curtain wall and emphasize the technical character of the building. In some areas of the roof
3
surface, renewable energy based electricity generators are installed.

Travel Information:
To Leipzig city
By air:
Flughafen Leipzig/Halle (Leipzig/Halle Airport) is a roughly 30 minutes drive from
the city centre. Deutsche Bahn InterCity and RegionalExpress trains run regularly
between the airport station and Hauptbahnhof Leipzig (Leipzig main railway station). If there is no direct flight to Leipzig from your city, we recommend you fly
to Berlin (about two hours to Leipzig by train), Frankfurt or Hanover (both about
three and a half hours to Leipzig by train). There are regular trains to Leipzig from
all three cities.
By rail:
Deutsche Bahn InterCity- und InterCityExpress trains link Leipzig with almost all
European cities. Hauptbahnhof Leipzig (Leipzig main railway station), one of the
biggest and most beautiful in Germany, is located right in the city centre.
By car:
To reach Leipzig by car, take Autobahns A9 (Berlin - Nuremberg) and A14 (Halle
- Dresden).
Getting to campus
By public transport:
Starting from Leipzig Central Station, tram (streetcar) lines 10 and 11 will take
you to the HTWK campus. Tram line 10 (direction: Lossnig) and tram line 11
(direction: Markkleeberg Ost) both depart right in front of central station. Get off
at the seventh stop, ‘HTWK’. You will see HTWK Leipzig’s main building right
across the street.
By car:
Starting from central station (Willy-Brandt-Platz), follow Tröndlinring and turn
left onto Goerdelerring, which soon becomes Dittrichring. Make a left onto MartinLuther-Ring and, shortly afterwards, a right onto Peterssteinweg, which soon becomes Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse. Continue ahead; the HTWK Leipzig campus is
about two kilometers down the road. Alternatively, coming into Leipzig on the B2
motorway (Wundstrasse), exit at A9/Weissenfels/Grünau/Südvorstadt and turn
right onto Kurt-Eisner-Strasse. From there, make a right onto Karl-LiebknechtStrasse.
