ALL TOGETHER NOW—
CELEBRATE IN SONG!
“All Together Now—Celebrate In Song!” comes together on the 50th year celebration
of the Philippine Madrigal Singers -- the world renowned choir which has spawned a
multitude of classical and pop soloists, arrangers, and conductors; many of whom
have settled in Southern California.
Known as the “Madz” to its fans, the group has become an institution that, through its
commissions and premieres, has helped propagate its legacy of choral excellence,
and expand the choral repertoire in the Philippines, where choral singing remains a
very popular activity.
This evening, we present celebrated soloists from the ranks of the Madz, choirs
mentored by Madz Alumni, and original choral works and arrangements by the like. The
wide variety of musical styles stems from the Madz original programming that always
included the following sections: Madrigals, Sacred, Folksongs, and Pop.
This concert is part of the global celebration of Philippine Madrigal Singers. Part of the
proceeds shall be contributed to the medical needs of the Madz founder, Philippine
National Artist for Music Andrea O. Veneracion. Other proceeds shall benefit the
University of the Philippines’ Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles’ Scholarship
fund.
This event is produced by Music Arts Events, a production company that helps artists
present and brand their events, and Philippine Patrons of the Arts USA, a 501C-3 nonprofit organization and long-time supporter of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

SONG OF DAVID, sing on Bb REPEAT AS NEEDED.
The Lord Is My Shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he
leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest
a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup
runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell
in the house of the Lord for ever.

Tenor SAL MALAKI is one of Los Angeles Opera’s most seasoned artists, having appeared in over 90 operas
with distinguished roles in La Traviata, Madama Butterfly among others. He is also a celebrated artist of the
Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and an esteemed member and soloist of the Los Angeles Master
Chorale (LAMC). The world-class tenor has performed in the nation’s prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall
and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Sal finished two music degrees from the University of the Philippines College
of Music, majoring in Flute and Voice. On one occasion, Sal forgot his flute and thus was born his legendary
ruby whistle in the Philippine Madrigal Singers’ popular L’Important C’est La Rose.
MARIA CRISTINA “KIT” NAVARRO, has performed internationally and in the San Diego Opera, Los Angeles
Opera, and El Paso Opera among others. The Orange County Register describes her as a “gifted soprano…a
coloratura specialist whose portrayal would always harvest special applause”. Other credits include Back
up Vocals for Andrea Bocelli, recording for the films “Click” and “Lady in the Water” and a tour of “Lord of
the Rings” with the Munich Symphony Orchestra. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice from the University
of the Philippines, and a Diploma in Music Theater Studies from the Biel Conservatory in Switzerland. She
is a recipient of the Migros Genossenschafts- Bund Studienpreis and a first prize winner in the Elvira Luthi
Wegmann Vocal Competition in Switzerland.
EDWARD GRANADOSIN’s bright natural tenor has gone down in Madz history for his epic solos in “Ikaw
Ang Lahat Sa Akin” and Cayabyab’s “Gloria.” Having started singing harmony with his 5 older brothers from a
young age, Edward’s powerful voice had a reputation of its own even while in the University of the Philippines
College of Music. He quickly became a favorite song interpreter in songwriting competitions, while juggling the
busy concert schedule of the Madz. After several Madz tours and grand slam competitions, Edward recorded
several Christian Music albums and was part of several vocal groups, the most notable of which was Three of
a Kind. He now sings with gospel group Back on Track and serves as a Methodist Preacher in Nevada.

Congratulations to Music Arts Events,
Annie Nepomuceno, and Michael Zuñiga!
Call (310) 522 - 4509 or E-mail SoCal@HouseOfSilvanas.
Mike Zuñiga is the beloved
cantor of Immaculate
Heart of Mary Church.
He is a popular church
vocalist, well-known for
his knowledge of liturgical
repertoire. His first solo
album was a request from
his fans, who have inspired
him to write original music.
His songs, like “Kami’y
Nagpupuri” that appears
in IHM’s Centennial
album, have been sung at
commemorative events
in Los Angeles. Mike also
sings with the Harana
Men’s Chorus.
