How to send and return your entries
Please follow the guidelines in this leaflet, which helps
to increase the chances of each participant, to save
costs and to avoid damage.
How to choose the images:
Do not try to enter pictures similar to those that were
among the winners before. New judges are appointed
every year which have their own judgement and preferences. It is important to consider the following three
aspects that make up the message of an image:
sharpness, light and composition. A creative play with
these elements will emphasise the aesthetic appeal
and originality.
Many photographers do not fully exhaust the maximum number of entries. Show courage and also submit subjects out of the ordinary! Three slides or prints
can be entered in each category!
How to package your entries:
According to our experiences we want to offer you
some useful advice. Hard pasteboard covers are the
safest way to protect your slides. Padded envelopes
are soft and easily damaged.
Please don’t roll up your prints, because it is easier for
the judges to evaluate a flat print than a rolled one.
Fill in your form, admission fee and return postal expenses in an envelope. Wrap your slides and the envelope with a thin padded foil and then put them in a
hard pasteboard cover with your address on it. This
envelope for returning your slides must not be sealed!
Now put this hard cover in a thinner one with our
address and note the way of mail service you prefer
(Air Mail, Registered). Such a well packaged submission is most helpful to the organisers.
Please put your slides in transparent slide-sleeves. The
judges will choose the slides by viewing them with an
eye loupe not by projection. The selected pictures will be
specially protected and kept safe.
Rules of Participation:
Together with the competition rules you have received
several forms. Due to organising reasons it is absolutely
necessary to comply with all items. If not, the entries
will not be admitted, and the admission fee will not be
refunded. To have the entries returned photographers
must enclose the correct amount of International Reply
Coupons or cash to cover the postage costs. The mail
service according to the postage enclosed will be applied
when the entries are returned. If there is no postage
added, the slides will not be returned. After one year
they will be discarded.
Picture list:
Filling in the forms may have been nerve-racking to
some of you. But the data are very important for the
book and must be available before printing starts. Please
help us to give as much information as possible. And
bear in mind: The sponsoring companies like to see their
products being used.
We are looking forward to receiving the new images to
the “Glanzlichter”-competition.

Participation
Everyone who is engaged in nature photography either as an
amateur or a professional can participate in the competition.
The admission fee of € 15,00 is to be paid cash with the submission of the pictures.
Accepted are:
• Colour transparencies from 35 mm to 9x12cm and panoramaformat up to 6x18cm. Do not send the slides in glass-mounts.
Protect them by transparent sleeves.
• Digital prints in at least 20x30 cm. Do not roll up the prints.
Please attach a CD/DVD-ROM with the original dates of the
pictures in TIFF- or JPEG-format for print-outs size 40x30cm.

In each category up to 3 transparencies or prints may be entered.
Following details must be written on the slide mounts or on the
backside of prints:
number of category / picture of category
description of the subject
name and address of the photographer
duplicate (dup.) / original (orig.), captive (c)
Please add the list of pictures completely filled in.
Images of domestic animals are not eligible subjects. Sandwich
shots or photographs that have been digitally manipulated are
not eligible. Pictures which have won a prize in any competition
will be not a ccepted.
If a picture shows an animal in captivity (zoo, game -farm) or
has been taken in conditions that are unnatural you must mark
the slide mount with a C (= capt ive).
You must be the owner of the entire copyright in all pictures
entered. The author must have a model release, fi pictures
showing people which are submitted.
The organizers of the project „natur & fotografie“ can not accept liability for any claims of a third party or for any loss or
damage.
The entries should be mailed in a way so that they cannot be
damaged. You must enclose two stickers with your address,
cash or International Reply Coupons (one coupon is equivalent
to € 1,80) to cover postage. The account see list of pictures.
Special postal services should be considered.
By participating in the competition you accept the organi-zers
conditions. The judges decision on all matters of the Competition is final and legally binding.

Closing date for entries is
January, 15th 2006, 12 pm – arriving
The winners will be notified after the judges have chosen
the winning images. The entries that are not among the
winners will be sent back up to march, 15 th.
Awards:
The total prize is higher than € 25.000. The prizemoney is
€ 9.350 and in addition other prizes are € 16.000.
• There will be an allover- winner
The allover-winner receives € 1500, a winning trophy ,
DVF-Medal in Gold and one Glanzlichter-book. He will
be invited with one more person to 8th Int.Fürstenfelder
Naturfototage.
• Each category will have one winner and 9 highlights
Each category winner receives € 500, a winning trophy ,
DVF-Medal in Bronze and one Glanzlichter-book. They
will be invited to 8 th Int. Fürstenfelder Naturfototage.
Each category-highlight receives € 50 and one Glanzlichter-book. They will be invited to the presentation of
awards to the 8th Int. Fürstenfelder Naturfototage.
• The will be one Siegfried&Roy-award- winner
The S&R-award-winner receives € 250, a winning trophy, DVF-Medal in silver, a gift from Siegfried & Roy
and one Glanz lichter-book. He will be invited with one
more person to 8 th Int. Fürstenfelder Naturfototage.
The presentation of all these awards will take place at
8th Internationale Fürstenfelder Naturfototage in
Fürstenfeldbruck in Germany , May, 19th--21st 2006.
Attending winners will get a sponsorpackage at stage and
will be invited to the gala -dinner after the ceremony.
All winning photographs will be presented in exhibitions,
travelling across german museums, and will be published
in the Glanzlichter-book and at the homepage
www.glanzlichter.com in the internet.
