Achèvement du gros œuvre fermé pour The Luxembourg Freeport

In the presence of numerous invitees representing the investors, bankers financing the project,
future customers and administrations involved in the project, The Luxembourg Freeport hosts
today a Christmas party to thank the workers at the construction site near the Cargo Centre at
Luxembourg airport.
Approximately one year after the ground breaking ceremony (which was held on November 14,
2014) The Luxembourg Freeport reaches an important milestone towards its grand opening in
September 2014. Indeed, the structure of the building is now completed.
“We are glad that construction works are on schedule. To date, the project is on time and on
budget” comments Yves Bouvier, president of Euroasia Investment, the lead investor in the
project.
Olivier Thomas, who recently became a shareholder of the promoter, adds: “I am confident in
the success of this project. I named the latest horse which joined my stables “Free Port Lux”
and the fact that it recently won the races at Longchamp is a good omen”.
“Today we want to thank Compagnie de Construction Luxembourgeoise and its workers and
employees for a job well done “says David Arendt, managing director of The Luxembourg
Freeport Real Estate S.A., the owner/builder. “CDCL was the right choice to realize this facility
which will change the landscape of the Luxembourg airport for better and add significant value
to the domestic logistics platform”.
“We are proud we delivered pursuant to the time-table initially contemplated” comments JeanMarc Kieffer, the managing director of CDCL. “Our teams and the teams of our technical subcontractors work 6/7 days up to 12 hours per day to make good progress and assure an
impeccable quality for this unique but complex project”.
The facility was initially designed by Swiss Architect 3BM3. The Design&Built team of CDCL
took same over in the realisation phase and is assisted by architecture+aménagement and
engineers Simon Christiansen and rigot+rieben.
For the execution of the project the best available technologies are being deployed in total
adherence to applicable environmental regulations. Materials utilized in construction are
consistent with the latest standards regarding energy performance and sustainable
development to achieve optimal efficiency.
The Luxembourg Freeport is a sophisticated, highly secure logistics hub for storage under
optimal conservation and preservation conditions of works of art, antiques, precious metals,
rough diamonds, jewels, fine wines, valuable manuscripts and other collectibles.

The first phase of the project covers a gross surface of around 22,000 m for an investment of
roughly €55 million.

 16,400m3 of concrete utilized
 Formwork: 47,400m2
 1,700 tons of reinforcement steel built in.

The reception of the facility is scheduled for Wednesday, 17 September 2014, the grand

opening to take place on Thursday 18 of that month. To date, approximately 60% of net letable
surface is reserved.

En présence de nombreux invités représentant les investisseurs, banquiers finançant le projet,
futurs clients et administrations impliquées dans le projet, le futur Port Franc de Luxembourg,
The Luxembourg Freeport, en construction près du Cargo Center à l’Aéroport de
Luxembourg, a aujourd’hui fêté l’achèvement des travaux de gros œuvre fermé, célébration qui
a pris la forme de fête de Noël pour les travailleurs et compagnons du chantier.
Un peu plus d’un an après le premier coup de pelle (la cérémonie eut lieu le 14 novembre
2012), The Luxembourg Freeport franchit ainsi une étape importante en vue de l’ouverture et
du lancement de ses activités.
« Nous sommes très heureux d’avancer, comme prévu, avec les travaux de construction. Nous
avons su maintenir, à ce jour, le planning initial et ce, tant sur le niveau des délais qu’au niveau
budgétaire » se réjouit Yves Bouvier, Président de Euroasia Investment, et principal promoteur
du projet.
Olivier Thomas, qui a rejoint Yves Bouvier dans le capital du promoteur ajoute : « Je suis très
confiant dans la réussite du projet. J'ai nommé le dernier cheval qui a rejoint mon écurie "Free
Port Lux" et le fait qu'il a gagné dernièrement à Longchamp constitue un bon augure ».
« Aujourd’hui, nous voulons avant tout remercier la Compagnie de Construction
Luxembourgeoise et leurs employés pour leur excellent travail », ajoute David Arendt,
Administrateur délégué de The Luxembourg Freeport Real Estate S.A., le maître d’ouvrage.
« CDCL a été le bon choix pour la réalisation de ce projet qui va changer la physionomie de
l’aéroport et enrichir la plateforme logistique du Luxembourg ».
« Nous sommes fiers de pouvoir maintenir le rythme de construction initialement prévu »
commente Jean-Marc Kieffer, administrateur-délégué de CDCL. « Nos équipes et celles de nos
partenaires des techniques spéciales travaillent 6/7 jours et jusqu’à 12 heures par jour pour
faire avancer les travaux et garantir une qualité de prestations irréprochable pour ce projet
complexe et unique au Luxembourg ».
Imaginé par le bureau d’architecture suisse 3BM3, le team Design&Built de CDCL, soutenu par
les bureaux Architecture et Aménagement, Simon-Christiansen et Rigot-Rieben, a repris la
conception et la réalisation du bâtiment dans son entièreté.
L’exécution du projet met en œuvre les meilleures technologies disponibles, dans le respect
total des normes environnementales. Les matériaux choisis répondent aux standards les plus
récents en matière de performance énergétique et de développement durable, pour un
rendement optimisé.
The Luxembourg Freeport est un hub logistique hautement sécurisé pour l’entreposage, dans
des conditions de conservation et de préservation optimales, d’œuvres d’art et antiquités, de
métaux précieux, diamants, bijoux, vins fins, livres et manuscrits précieux.

La première phase du projet porte sur une surface brute totale d’environ 22.000 m pour un
investissement d’environ 55 millions d’euros.
Quelques autres chiffres remarquables sont :

Environ 60% de la surface louable est aujourd’hui déjà réservée. La date de l’inauguration du

Fertigstellung des Rohbaus des Luxembourg Freeport

Im Beisein zahlreicher Gäste, welche die Investoren, Finanzierungsbanken, zukünftige Kunden
und involvierten öffentlichen Verwaltungen repräsentieren, hat die zukünftige Freihandelszone
Luxemburgs The Luxembourg Freeport, die zur Zeit neben dem Cargo Center am Flughafen
Luxemburg gebaut wird, heute die Fertigstellung der Arbeiten am Rohbau gefeiert. Die Feier
fand in Form einer Weihnachtsfeier für die an der Baustelle beschäftigten Mitarbeiter und ihre
Begleiter statt.
Fast auf den Tag genau ein Jahr nach dem ersten Spatenstich (die Zeremonie fand am 14
November 2012 statt), wird damit für The Luxembourg Freeport eine wichtige Etappe auf dem
Weg zu seiner Eröffnung abgeschlossen..
„Wir sind sehr glücklich mit den Bauarbeiten, wie vorgesehen voranzukommen. Bis zum
heutigen Tag haben wir den ursprünglichen Zeitrahmen aber auch das Budget einhalten
können“ freut sich Yves Bouvier, Vorsitzender von Euroasia Investment, dem Hauptinitiator des
Projekts.
Olivier Thomas, zusammen mit Yves Bouvier einer der Investoren des Projekts fügt hinzu: „Ich
bin sehr zuversichtlich dass das Projekt ein Erfolg wird. Die Tatsache dass ich mein neuestes
Pferd meines Reitstalls „Free Port Lux“ getauft habe und dieses vor kurzem das Pferderennen
im französischen Longchamp gewonnen hat betrachte ich als gutes Omen“.
« Wir wollen uns heute in erster Linie bei Compagnie de Construction Luxembourgeoise und
ihren Mitarbeitern für die hervorragende Arbeit bedanken“ fügt David Arendt, Geschäftsführer
vom Bauherrn The Luxembourg Freeport Real Estate S.A. hinzu. „Mit CDCL haben wir den
richtigen Partner für die Umsetzung dieses Projektes, welches das Landschaftsbild des
Flughafens nachhaltig verändern und die logistische Plattform Luxemburgs bereichern wird,
ausgewählt.“
„Wir sind glücklich und stolz den zeitlichen Umsetzungsplan, wie er von Anfang an geplant war,
einhalten zu können“ sagt Jean-Marc Kieffer, Geschäftsführer von CDCL. „Das ganze Team,
einschließlich der Mitarbeiter unserer Partner vor Ort arbeiten sechs Tage die Woche und bis zu
zwölf Stunden am Tag um den Zeitrahmen für dieses hochkomplexe und für Luxemburg
einmalige Projekt einzuhalten und eine.“
Das Gebäudekomplex wurde vom Schweizer Architektenbüro 3BM3 konzipiert. Die
Umsetzung der Arbeiten wurden vom Team Design&Built von CDCL übernommen, das
wiederum von den luxemburgischen Architektenbüros Architecture et Aménagement, SimonChristiansen sowie Rigot-Rieben unterstützt wird.
Bei der Realisierung des Projekts werden hochmoderne und umweltfreundliche
Technologien mit den neuesten Standards im Bereich des Energieverbrauchs sowie der
Nachhaltigkeit etwa bei der Auswahl der Baumaterialien, verbunden.
The Luxembourg Freeport ist ein logistisches Drehkreuz das in einem
Hochsicherheitsumfeld und unter optimalen Bedingungen der Bestandserhaltung
Lagermöglichkeiten und Panzerschränke für jegliche Art von Wertgegenständen bietet.
Kunstwerke, Edelmetalle, Juwelen, Weine, Antiquitäten und Wertdokumente werden sich
die Hand geben.
